Due to COVID, they are just doing delivery and outdoors on one of their two patios. The patio in the back has one very large table, and the one in the front has a bunch.
The place was pretty busy when we went there with...lots of takeout orders, and our poor server was being run off her feet. But she did admirably well. I do wish, however, that they would go back to proper plates and silverware rather than all the disposable waste.
The Garlic Prawn with beansprouts and choi was delicious----a lovely garlic sauce. But so small! It probably would have helped if there had been more of the vegetables.
We also ordered the kow phad krapow fried rice---which again was very nice, especially if you pour the garlic sauce from the prawn dish on it. But again....it wasn't all that big. Two dishes split between two people.
Bill, with no drinks and a 20% tip was a little over $42. I was still hungry. But good, though.
This restaurant has some cozy tables at the front for “couples” dining, along with a more open space at the back for larger groups.
I’ve been here a few times and the food has ranged from average to very good, depending on the dish ordered....I’ve had the Green Papaya Salad in the past, as well as the Red Curry Chicken, both of which were quite good.
This time I tried the Green Curry Chicken. It came with a small bowl of White Rice. The dish was fairly authentic, but did lack some flavour. It also lacked a key ingredient in Green Curry dishes, which is Eggplant. The Curry was a bit watery than I like and could have used a bit more Coconut Milk to thicken it up and add more flavour. The heat level was medium, which was just right, not too hot, yet not mild.
I was mildly surprised that my bill included a $3.00 up-charge for the small bowl of white rice that came with it. That pushed the price of this dish at almost $20.00. While the menu doesn’t list the Green Curry to be accompanied by the rice, they should ask the customer if they want to add a side of rice, instead of just automatically bringing it and then charging you at the end. It appears that the customer doesn’t have a choice of ordering a side of rice. At the very least, if they charge you for a “Large” White Rice, they should be serving you a larger portion than the small bowl it comes in.
Prices were fairly high, compared to better Thai restaurants and considering the quantity of food you receive. Service was very accommodating, friendly and prompt. This restaurant is pretty busy on the weekends and they do have a decent patio in the summer. For authentic Thai food, I would rate this as average to good, but not great. There are better Thai restaurants out there.More
Went with friends for dinner and we all very much enjoyed the service and the food.
We ordered a variety of items to share which included the Prawn Red Curry with Pineapple, Praram Long Song with Beef, Cashew Chicken, and Cream Prawn Salad. To complete...the meal we added a couple of bowls of the Large Steamed White Rice. It was a perfect amount of food for the 4 of us and gave us some leftovers. The restaurant was busy and we were glad to have a reservation. Our server was very helpful when we asked her recommendations on a couple of our choices. We will go back and they have good parking in the rear of the restaurant.More
Had the Pad Thai. It was hot, the spices were perfect and lots of nuts and sprouts on top. This lunch special is an excellent deal, as it comes with spring rolls and soup. I saved half my noodles for lunch the next day.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, in a great part of town....with no loud music disrupting, and a pleasant decor. It's actually quite big....we were in the front section, but in the back there are a whole bunch more tables. Washrooms....you have to go up...a set of stairs.
Our server was.....personable. At times too much so, as we couldn't seem to discuss our order possibilities without her overhearing it and chiming in about other possibilities.
We ordered a large Tom Kha Goong soup---coconut based with prawns. We were a little disappointed that the 'large' seemed substantially smaller than a large soup we'd order at other Thai restaurants. But they were generous with the prawns. The broth was nice....but we wished there were some other vegetables, and not just mushrooms and those inedible leaves---and some chewy and woody lemongrass.
The PadThai was comparable to padthai's at most thai restaurants. Which, to my mind, makes it very good.More
