The emphasis on quality is top notch and our dinner was enjoyable, but a couple of events brought the rating down a notch. When our trio entered the restaurant, we noticed a table outside was available and the inside seating was half full. We asked...to sit outside and the gentleman asked if we had reservations which we did not. He then indicated we could sit at a table in the back or on the stools mid restaurant. As we were there for just over an hour, the restaurant emptied a bit more and no one was seated outside during our stay and the other outside table emptied shortly after we were seated. We found that odd that our request to sit outside was denied.( we saw no reservation cards on any table while there. The other item was the Mezze plate we ordered and we were advised that they were out of olives that evening, so the plate would now have additional picked veggies. I found that odd that a restaurant that is so inventive in its dishes could not substitute another item from the kitchen to round out the plate...in addition, the additional veggies seemed the same size as our last mezze ordered the previous week. A Mezze works with multiple items.. a distinct flavor taken away seems to reduce the taste enjoyment.More

A friend suggested we go here when we planned on meeting for dinner. Right from making the reservation to the end of our meal everything was wonderful. We came across this restaurant by chance not long after it had opened. What a great find! The bowls were superbly tasty, the wine excellent, and the staff very friendly and helpful. Our dinner was the best we had during our latest stay in Victoria!

6 of us for my son's Birthday. He was the only one who enjoyed his meal, but said it was just all right. Mine was dry and tasteless ravioli, that was burned on the bottom. Expensive meal, but happy to pay if it was good....Should have gone to trusty old Rebar instead.More

Everything about Be Love is incredible--from the food (and seasonal menu) to the staff to the drinks and ambience. Even during Covid, they have maintained consistency with take away options. Since I am both vegan and gluten-free, my restaurant options are minimal in Victoria. One...of the best things about Be Love is the fact that I am never bloated from the food. Even if I eat a burger, salad, dessert, juice and soup, my system is good. Highly recommend supporting this business.More

Too often we wonder, is there something on the menu a vegetarian/vegan can eat? Here, they can chose anything! And the meat eaters are never disappointed with the varied, imaginative choices. Interesting drink selection, and no feeling of missing out if you chose a non-alcoholic...option.More

The portions are big, The food is very tasty. The only negative is that they do take a while to get you your food so make sure you have plenty of time. We ran out of time and had to get our meals to go....The server seemed reluctant and asked several times if there was anyway we could eat in. However, we really had a commitment. We had reservations at Be Love for dinner before the Ballet tonight and it was the worst service experience I've had in Victoria. The Restaurant called us 8 minutes before our reservation time to ask if we were still coming. It wasn't a friendly courtesy...call either. That left us a bit baffled. Then when we arrived - on time at 5:45, we were told we could only have the table until 7pm. That's 1hr 15 minutes for a Saturday night dinner on a special evening out at the Ballet. Again, baffling. While we chatted over drinks we were told to get our order in so they could have us out on time. At that point our service had progressed from baffling to downright appalling. The staff were treating us like we were lucky to be there. After the food arrived there was an attempt to clear our plates before we had finished eating. At 5 to 7 we were informed that the party for our table had arrived. As in, "it's time for you to leave". The food was good but I will never go back or recommend this restaurant to anyone. Imagine if it had been a really special evening. If they want to limit dinners to 75 minutes, perhaps they should consider running a cafeteria instead.More

I have had many meals at Be Love. Always exceptional service, food, and atmosphere. Highly recommend it to anyone.

If you are looking for great atmosphere and service while enjoying a very creative menu (both food and rink!), then you have to check this place out. Have to say that it would not be my first choice, but then you often discover great places...when someone else makes the decision as to where to eat. Had a great cocktail before dinner, a very nice glass of white wine, and a very tasty variation of "mac and cheese".More
