Lovely patio - server was sweet - BUT 2vhours together our meal. Our Westcoast chowder came within 15min...but our pizza took 1.5 hr.!! We came at 7...finally left at 9...watched other tables who came after us get served and leave while we waited. Probably won't...be back for dinner- might try them for lunchMore

We decided to go to this place following a negative interaction with The Flying Otter hostess nearby, who just so happened to "close the patio" on a busy and sunny Saturday afternoon. Thankfully, we made it for happy hour and into the early dinner hours...and were pleasantly surprised by the drink and food menu. Another plus was that our waitress was fantastic. The positive vibes were all around, and we appreciated the pretty views on the outdoor patio. We had a full view of the Empress across the way and the Inner Harbour. From the patio seating, we got to see several watercraft landing and taking off, plus the many water taxis, boat tours, Clipper, and other ferry/fisherman boats arriving or taking off. There was plenty to see, and this historical, previous steamship station-turned restaurant and patio did not disappoint. The inside of the restaurant was also lovely, and if we return in winter, it will be a nice environment to enjoy a meal. The con of the place could come down to the bathroom situation, which I noticed a few other reviewers mention as an issue as well. You have to go to the back of the restaurant and wait for the elevator to take you to the third floor, or walk up the steps, your choice, and the bathrooms are shared with the nearby Ferry station. As for the food, we were pleasantly surprised with our dishes, we ordered the crab cakes and crab bisque and two rounds of oysters for the table, the seafood linguini, plus a bunch of local beers, a mojito, and other cocktails. I highly recommend the drunken doughnuts; those are a must. They were soo good! If you can take advantage of their happy hour, it's worth it. If we ever visit the area, we'll return for the fresh seafood and views.More

Fun, delicious and relaxing! We dined at steamship last night and had the best time! What a lovely Hostess who brought us to our table, very pleasant. We decided to sit indoors as it was a bit windy outside even though the patio tables give...a better view and are heated. I don’t really like eating when it is windy and the indoors has a light, open, classical feel and has a warm atmosphere with a great view if you sit near the windows. The music sound level and songs were non obtrusive and added to the ambiance. When our server came she was friendly, professional and took our order promptly. We had the crab whiskey bisque to start and it was fantastic! The taste and presentation absolutely delicious. We ordered a big main but were super hungry so my husband and I shared a cup. Our food came at the perfect time, our 14 yr old had the Bang Bang chicken bowl which she loved. Being a fussy healthy eater she enjoyed all of the fresh parts especially the edamame beans but loved the breaded chicken with sauce too. Our beautiful friendly server Tawny made sure that the bang bang sauce was ordered mild, and our teen ate almost the entire thing even though it was a huge portion. Hubby and I ordered the Ultimate Steak and Seafood Platter for two and it was Phenomenal. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, each bit of seafood was delicious and cooked in a different way with a different flavour that complimented the entire meal. The prawns were on a BBQ skewer with butter sauce, Salmon fillet had a creamy caper sauce and the tuna was lovely. The crab had a clarified butter and easy to get out with the tools provided. The golden sautéed beets, Brussels sprouts and garlic mash potatoes were just as delicious and unique as each piece of seafood. All in all, a perfect and happy dining experience! Thank you kitchen and wait staff of steamship, your efforts are appreciated!More

Wonderful meal with excellent service. We had a 17:15 reservation and were seated by the window. Wonderful booth which is up a couple steps and with a view to the Inner Harbour. One in our group has trouble with steps so if you are arranging...for someone with mobility issues keep that in mind. Very nice ambiance and would certainly go here again.More

We found this restaurant in a great location close to where we were staying at the Huntingdon Manor Hotel. The service was good and a nice variety on the menu. Good value for money.

We usually go to a local restaurant for Dine Around, and sometimes have been disappointed by service, menu and value for having chosen the Dine Around menu rather than the permanent one. That was not the case at Steampship. We had shrimp gyoza, and bacon-wrapped...scallops to start. Quite different dishes but we shared anyway; both were very good. Mains were lamb sirloin, and mixed seafood grill, providing generous quantities of tasty ingredients. Dessert was vanilla crème brulee and their trademark doughnuts ( which were not on the menu, but came at no extra charge :-) ) Our waiter was busy but there when it mattered, and very knowledgeable about the menu and the wines. We were seated in the "high top" area as requested; a good choice.More

Food was so so......Our server that night was very good however the hostess left us cool. We had a reservation asking for a specific area which was not available because apparently is was outside seating...seriously in Dec? If that area was not available then place...the reservation in a better area than a table near the front door where there was a draft.....no impressed. We were given 2 menus....the regular one and a New Years special one. I ordered off the regular menu and was not able to get that...Why give me two menu choices if I was not able to order what I wanted. Again not impressed. Overall we would not go back to this spot.More

This bar and grill might be ok for a quick drink but the food is awful. My family had steak, crab legs, shrimp, tuna veggies and potatoes. Our meals were expensive but everything was completely tasteless. The steak was a poor cut and was impossible...to chew, everything was cold when it was served to us and hard to swallow. Even the desserts were totally lackluster. Don't waste your money here ...we did and will never go back. Hire a chef that knows how to cook.More

Were the only customers for lunch....probably because it was still cold with over 1 ft. of snow. We had the mixed grill, tuna poke and seafood pasta. All delicious. Poke was really good, but you really had to mix the sauce in thoroughly.....otherwise, it'll be...too salty. Loved the tuna in the mixed grill, and the seafood pasta was awesome !More

Never eaten here before, and we didn’t think it was open. When we arrived, we were initially the only customers until 15 minutes later, a small group sat behind us. At first, my husband says, I think I just saw a mouse scuttle across the...room. That is not a good first impression! So of course, I started to glance all over on the floor and saw the mouse too. Disgusting. We told the server, he said “its an old building”. Seriously, that is the most ridiculous comment I’ve heard. Rule of thumb, if there is one mouse seen, guaranteed, there are more, furthermore, it tells me that the restaurant isn’t clean - food source is the reason mice are around. I was cringing and we discussed that we should perhaps leave, but our food was coming our way. We ordered pizza. Hmm, it was soggy and tasted ok, nothing to say, “wow, that was delicious”. We ordered dessert as well, we should of just stopped at the pizza. Won’t be coming back. They need to get pest control, Stuart Little needs to go elsewhere.More

Yes you read it correctly 'Resident Mice. My wife and I only stayed because we had been on the road since 10am (it was now 6.30) it was also a very cold evening. The staff were quite welcoming and pleasant. The food was poor, Pizza...soggy centred and bland, dessert was supposedly 'Key Lime Cheese Cake' again awful lacking in any real flavour. I would guess the food is prepared off-site and heated The Mouse appeared in the restaurant, seemingly quite at home. This was brought to the server's attention, who responded 'It's an old building mice should be expected' I assume the staff/management are unaware of pest control. Wine and Beer was pretty good.More
