Fine dining it was NOT I was so upset tonight with the lamb shank and the service. The outside of the shank was so dry I could not stomach it and sent it back, I apologize to have done that. I know my lamb and...shanks, I grew up with this and one of my specialty meals I service to friends. The outside was if it sat out and dried out in the Sahara desert somewhere. I asked the gentleman at the next table how his was, not great he said, dry outer side. Inside was fine. The server never apologized, could not care less. I’ll Terazzo this would never happen. We came a long way to enjoy this special meal. Shame on you for serving this at a fine dining establishment like this. Struggled 35 min to get a parking spot, all in all very, very upset about a $32. Lamb shank that was not worth to put into soup even…. Sorry about this but it was to be a special occasion for us. My husbands meal was lovely. Thank you, so was the dessert and coffee.More

Do not take reservations for more than 6 - even if the 7th is a child - and wouldn't give us 2 seperate tables. Told us it would interfer with the integrity of the restaurant. We might talk to each other. Not family friendly!

We went for dinner and the restaurant was busy and staffed by excellent well trained waiters and very italian. Beautiful caprese salad followed by excellent homemade pasta and then ice cream all washed down with excellent chianti. A wee bit noisy is the only fault

We very much enjoyed our dinner date at Il Covo. The dinner was very tasty. I very much enjoyed the atmosphere and the fresh herbs added to the dish was a wonderful touch!

My wife picked IL Covo Trattoria for her birthday. We were a party of six and decided to try the” Famiglia Italiana diner”. The dinner was spectacular. The portions were very generous and the dishes were delicious.

Overall not a great experience. Sat outside which was lovely. Server was pleasant but was always playing catchup. Was running everywhere and twice food arrived before drinks, and same with cutlery. Didn't have two bottles of wine, on a tiny wine list, that we tried...to order. We had 4 courses and it was all fine. Most dishes were ok, there weren't any that any of the four of us would rush back for. The lamb was the worst. Dry and uninspired. The sad looking "seasonal vegetables", were one mushy piece of red pepper and zucchini. It was a forgettable experience, won't be back.More

We totally look forward to our Victoria trips as Il Covo has become part of our treat! We opened with a shared Caesar Salad. They do a fine job on a traditional salad. Gary had the dinner special which left his plate clean. Roasted veg,...potatoes and red meat. I had the lobster cannelloni. It was delicious and again my plate was also clean. White Capella wine for me and Chianti Classico for Gary. Both complimented the meals. Tiramisu for Gary and cannoli for me. They serve you 4 small cannolis with 2 flavours on a well presented plate. I wanted more. More than satisfying. Can't wait for our next visit. There is a lovely outside terrace as well.More

We have visited Il Covo many times and particularly like the outdoor patio when weather permits. During this pandemic, we order in advance and pick up our meals in person at the back door. The meals are consistent and the staff are always courteous and...competent. We hope this fine dining establishment survives the public health restrictions on indoor dining in B.C. John BillettMore

We went there twice in February-March 2021. This is an excellent restaurant with superb food and an extremely well designed Covid-safe setup. Could not recommend this restaurant enough.
