Small yet high quality Japanese for a great price. Had quick sushi. Good service and great taste. Must visit when in Victoria.

Haven't come here since COVID started. Usually our favorite choice. First thing was the much smaller menu choices. Second was the fairly significant change in prices. Third, food was still as terrific as we remembered. I totally understand how covid has changed the dining experience...and the toll it too on restaurants. Kudos for managing through the tough times. Food is still delish. But the restaurant was 75% full for a Saturday night. At some point, the pinching the consumer is going to hit restaurants hard, maybe even harder than COVID. Still a great choice but know that it's going to cost more now, like everything else.More
We showed up on a busy Saturday night without a reservation, and the hostess was able to make room for us. The food was delicious and the service was friendly. My 11 year-old loved her dynamite roll, and asked if we could return the next...day for lunch. It’s a small restaurant that pleasantly surprised us.More
It’s nice to be able to sit at the sushi bar again. The service, ambience and food are still great. The tuna tataki melts in the mouth. The menu is packed with Japanese favourites. I really like this little place.
Ebizo was within easy walking distance of our hotel on the Victoria waterfront. The restaurant was easy enough to find, and was a small comfortable size. The staff were very polite and attentive. The itamae worked their craft behind a small sushi bar. The menu...was straightforward and simple, with nigiri, sashimi, maki/uramaki, and bowls (udon/ramen, chirashi). The fish was wonderfully fresh. Reasonably priced. The restaurant had a "local favorite" vibe with what appeared to be a number of regular customers interacting with the staff. Great to see as the 5th Covid wave passes over the country.More
It must be so hard in this pandemic to be a tiny restaurant where social distancing is all but impossible. Happily, Ebizo is doing take out so we can still enjoy the delicious Japanese food they are known for. The tuna tataki is still the...best I’ve ever eaten. The sushi was fresh and great and the sunomono salad was refreshing. I miss the sushi bar and the ambiance but the take out is good. Please support this great little restaurant people. We want it to survive these bad timesMore
This is the real deal! Great, fresh sushi. Great staff. Loved it! Busy place would recommend a reservation or patience
Must go... It's a must-go everything I'm in town! Great service, great quality, great location! 11/10!
love this place! The sushi is so fresh and amazing, the space is cozy and the staff are super friendly! Go here!!!
Japanese food ever and we love Japanese food and have even visited Japan over 50 times. The tempura had taste of Lard and uneatable and the futomaki was so bad and the sashimi was horrible but I didn’t get sick but no taste and not...fresh. Have to wonder how TA rates it so high? That’s my issue now checking the reviewsMore
Been there several times now, for family Birthday Dinners. Very Friendly, kind, and hard working Servers. Sushi tastes like it’s pulled from the sea, super fresh, well rolled and full of flavour! Can’t get enough Sushi rolls per visit and the Vegetable Tempura Baskets always,flavourful,...with great dipping sauce! Prices quite good, for the rolls and vegetable basket! 😁More
We eat Japanese food quite often and were looking for a restaurant near the Empress Hotel for lunch. Ebizo seemed perfect and it was! Good food, good service and a pleasant atmosphere.
Definitely not even close to the best sushi in Victoria. Tasteless and overpriced. Try out somewhere else
Good restaurant, typical japanese flavour, good portions & and prices. . I recommend and will return.
We thoroughly enjoyed the sushi, nigiri, and miso soup. Everything was tasty, fresh, and reasonably priced. We tried 5 different rolls: spicy tuna with avocado, spicy salmon with avocado, tempura yam, dynamite, and unagi. All were great. The waitstaff were friendly and helpful. Good location...just a few blocks from the Inner Harbor. We did not have reservations, but arrived right at 5 pm and were seated immediately.More
