Very good seafood restaurant recommended by our taxi driver who has lived in the area for many years. Food quality and preparation varied from very good to excellent--fresh oysters were excellent. Service was good with helping us with the menu. We were pleased with the...diversity of the offerings on the menu--many choices.More

Very good restaurant especially for sea food. The ling cod and Humboldt squid are both recommended. There is a happy hour from 17:00 to 18:00 with half priced oysters. Servings are moderate sized and reasonably priced. Staff are extremely helpful No view.

Poor food quality - greasy with tasteless blobs in salad, fish too heavily breaded, burger with far too much sauce - messy. Servers offered minimal hospitality. Ferris has changed for the worse. We will not be back.

I generally really like this place, it’s had to decide because the menu has lots of great choices. Yam fries are not nice at all though, don’t order

Booked 4weeks in advance. Arrived 5 minutes early. Hostess requested we wait downstairs. I asked if there was some place we could wait upstairs (one in our group had joint replacement). She led us to believe that if we went to downstairs restaurant there would...be a place for us to wait and possibly get a beverage. She even escorted us down on elevator. Downstairs hostess informed us there was no place to wait or get a drink. I asked why we were sent down but she had no answer. After 10 minute wait we received call to come backup as our table was ready. Back upstairs we went but table was not ready. “ please wait behind the rope”. We are now getting frustrated with the runaround. Finally we are taken to a table by the window, seated and given menus and water. Unbelievably server came and apologized that she has seated up at the wrong table. We needed to move. They put at at a terrible table with lots of traffic and a draft from the stairwell. We asked to speak to manager and one in our group wanted to just leave. Manager arrived with profuse apology and offered to move us to a better table and comp us some Prosecco. We did move AGAIN, and accepted the Prosecco but the evening was spoiled. I have eaten at this establishment many times over the years and could not believe they treated us so poorly. I suspect it was a combination of overbooking and understaffingMore

Three of us went on a Sunday evening. This was our first non-Asian meal since we arrived in Victoria a week ago and it was very good, indeed. If the restaurant is billed as an oyster bar, then it seems stupid not to try them....Two of the party shared a dozen Kooshi oysters which were delicious. I had the baked oyster trio which I like a lot and appreciated the fact that it came with mini baguette slices to soak up the lovely sauces. There is the option to have small plates as well as larger "mains." all three of us opted for the small plates. Two of the party went for the steamed West Coast Shellfish with aioli and frites. It was small but very enjoyable, More substantial was the Humboldt squid served with olives and a black olive tapenade. Again, beautifully cooked. We will certainly visit again.More

Setting was great. Service was good but food was very average. Seafood ramen was average at best. Appts were good. Mocktails were tasty. My thought were 3.5 but if i had to choose 3 or 4 star….3

We chose this place as it had a menu that appeased all diets within our family. The entrance is odd as there is a curtain blocking the view as you walk in making is seem like we should look for another entrance or not disturb...them. The booths feel really tight, but the place was clean and the staff were friendly. We shared the brie cheese appie and thought is could have been served a bit warmer. The lamb burger was tasty as well as the pacific rim bowl. The veggie but burger with side salad was good, but the pattie crumbles as you eat it. The seafood chowder was oddly sweet and not something we would order again. The beer was good as well as the wine.More

I have to say, I had a perfectly pleasant meal. The service was solid, the atmosphere nice. But nothing shown. I had the ahi with avocado. I liked the touch of having some nori in there along wit the crisps, but nothing else about this...made it newer than, say, 1992. My drinks were not particularly strong. The seafood pasta was nicely al dente and the seafood all cooked well, but there was an absence of seasoning. And my creme brulee was good, but the top was too thick and the creme was a bit on the too firm side. I suspect there's a reason this is ranked below several other seafood restaurants in town. I don't mena to condemn it, but it's not going to set tongues wagging...More

Was just there for supper. I had the bouillabaisse. Was absolutely amazing!! So very good. There is a small patio in front and a patio in the back. It is definitely a wonderful place. If ever we return, we will definitely be back!!!

This review is for Ferris Upstairs, which was amazing! It’s a more upscale tapas style restaurant above Ferris, and I was so pleasantly surprised by it. We had delicious cocktails, the waitress was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful with my celiac requirements, and made sure we...could modify several dishes so I could enjoy them. Really creative combinations of flavors and fresh delicious scallops, black cod, tuna . . . All really delicious. Desserts were also fantastic. Great atmosphere, wonderful service, delicious food!!More

Had fish and chips which were of a very low standard. The food lacked flavor. My husband and son had a main which was the size of a stater. The restaurant was not good value. I could not recommend this restaurant.

Two buck-a-shuck oysters, $4 glasses of Chardonnay, large portion of fried smelts and a creamy porcini pate. What’s not to love? Excellent friendly service. Go there from 5-6 pm.

Depends on the time of year. Summer time I definitely would make a reservation. Bar seating is actually a lot of fun with lively conversations.
