Great spot for dinner. Small and unassuming from the outside but friendly service and great tasting fish. I had Katch of the day( halibut) cooked to perfection and served Indian style and my husband had the salmon and squid biryani which was also exquisite

Fishhook is a very modest place in terms of decor. However they more than make up for it with their flavours. * Our dishes were salmon biryani & salmon fish & chips Indian style * Both were packed with flavour. Interesting spicing combinations on the...salmon for both dishes * It is not a huge place & you certainly don't come for classic Indian decor * Service was impeccable & the manager chatted with us for some time * We also chatted with some British tourists and they loved it so much they had come two nights in a row * The menu was really interesting. Innovative fish with some Indian (SE Asian) flair. After ordering at the counter, we found seating on the back patio which is behind some of the local buildings. It's quiet back there, although you could also sit inside or at a couple of tables on...the street. They bring the food to you when its ready. I had some tuna served with a green lentil masala which was very good. ( I might have cooked the tuna a little bit less, but it was good.) This seems an excellent option for a healthy lunch.More

We tried a couple of places first but could not get in at a reasonable time and then stumbled upon Fish Hooks! So glad we did, the food is fish cooked with Indian flavours. It was so good that we reserved a table for the...following night to taste more of the menu. The menu isn’t huge but that is good as the food is prepared fresh. They have the best fish curry. The owner is one of the chefs and was so lovely when we asked to speak to him. Friendly staff and good service. Be warned it is not a big restaurant and is not flashy in any way. You can't go wrong on this menu. I encourage you to order with sharing in mind so you get all the flavors here. They are amazing. And the staff are friendly and provide top notch service.

Based on the reviews that we could read, as well as the information on the Fishhook website, we decided to have dinner there. In spite of not having made a reservation we received a very friendly welcome. The fusion experience, blending North American dishes with...flavors Inspire from India, was interesting and very savory . We began with a cup of chowder each, quite original, tasty and comforting, followed by mussels in a hearty and rich broth which we shared, as well as a salad of a well balanced mix of various fresh tasting and crunchy greens. All that with a ginger mint soda of the house, quite refreshing. In summary, we were very happy with our choice and left with the feeling that we would return time allowing. We stopped for lunch and it surpassed our expectations. We were going to order the mussels but, due to the owner’s recommendations shared the seafood hotpot instead. WOW!!! It was plenty for the two of us, but we also had a side of koftas.

Fantastic food, lovely menu, great spices, cosy dining & very friendly service. A wonderful relaxed experience, highly recommended for those who like something a little different.

This place was fantastic. We are picky. We travel a lot. This combination of Indian and seafood, a special Victoria flavour as well, it was super yum. Don’t miss this place.
