He knew of their taste for coffee, so he added whiskey to their coffee instead of the Irish way of adding it to tea. One of the pleasantly surprised soldiers asked "is this Brazilian coffee?" "No" was Joe's reply. "That's Irish coffee." In 1942 the Irish coffee was born

We stopped in Victoria on our Alaskan Cruise in July. It was beautiful inside and very reasonably priced. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant as a dining venue.
