About
Welcome to the Irish Times Pub, where excellent design and authenticity are at the heart of downtown Victoria's BEST IRISH PUB! Located at 1200 Government Street, the Irish Times Pub is home to 190 seats over two floors with 80 seats available on our patios, opening onto both Government Street and historic Bastion Square. Our concept goes far beyond mere architecture though. The Irish Times opened with everything it takes to make a pub successfully Irish, including authentic Live Irish music, 7 nights a week. The tradition of Ireland has also been extended to our menu, which has been developed on a philosophy of creating traditional Irish food and drink that is both contemporary and funky, showcasing

The service was awkward and inconsistent with us not knowing which server was actually helping us. Whenever someone did get to our table their attitude was less than friendly or welcoming. The food itself was really good which is the only saving grace because perhaps...it was an off night for the servers. We enjoyed the meal but due to the service we looked forward to leaving.More

Staff is happy and great. Bit of a wait but well worth it on a Friday night for the live music. Great selection of Irish and Scottish whiskey. Local and great import beers as well. Best. Fish 'n Chips. Ever! My wife had the west...coast chowder and was blown away as well! Definitely a must visit!More

Our only struggle was navigating the pedestrian only streets between our cruise ship and our goal. Start with the great architecture of their building and enter into a warm and cozy pub to pass an hour or two with good grub and grog. Ask for...a Dirty Nellie or an Irish Coffee. Then go for the fish & chips or queso with salsa and chips, which is what we had and listen to the music which includes a wandering piper. The staff is friendly and attentive to your needs. Wack fol-de-dah will ye dance with your partner. Whelt the floor your trotters shake. Wasn't it the truth I told ye; lots of fun at the Irish Times Pub. To paraphrase the Irish drinking song.More

This is a very welcoming pub with friendly staff and relaxing decor. Good selection of beer (of course) and the food has generous portions and very tasty.

On a recent vacation trip to Victoria area, Irish Times was recommended by our Hotel as we were not familiar with the area eating establishments. Certainly not disappointed. Mid afternoon lunch was Fish and Chips. Very close to the best we have ever had. Crisp...batter, hot. Excellent beer selection and they offered a sample first if you wanted to to see if you would like it. Very attentive servers. Went a second time two days later. Felt we did not have to explore another pub as we would likely be disappointed. We went to 6 Mile Pub the day after our first visit to Irish Times and it was a huge waste of time and money. So, we decided that based on our first visit we would go back. Second time we ordered from the Happy Hour menu. Irish Stew, Poutine and Tyger Prawns. All great, hot. They were slightly smaller portions but the 3 shared by my wife and I were plenty to satisfy us. Great service again. When we are back in Victoria we will definitely make this a must stop.More

Ate lunch here today lateish so after the rush and was fairly unimpressed. Server was charming and friendly but service was slow and the fish and chips horribly over cooked with about double or treble the batter as to actual fish. I pulled off the...extra batter and the server didn’t ask about the pile on my plate so I didn’t care to explain Best avoided for food id say from my experienceMore

We stopped in at the irish Times Pub while visiting Victoria and what a pleasant surprise. The staff were all friendly and the seating was well spaced. My husband and I both ordered the 1 piece fish and chips and it was delicious. Very large...piece of fish and the batter was light and not greasy. The fries and coleslaw were both very good also. Would definitely recommend. The Paddy's Old Fashioned was also delicious. A little pricey but very yummy.More

Food and service was spot on! We were in Victoria for several days and came to Irish Times on a Tuesday evening. There was live music, which solidified the ambience. We had Irish Stew and the Hot Turkey sandwich; both were very generous portions and...tasted delicious! Highly recommend checking this place out!More
