This is a wonderful little cafe. The food is made fresh, there is a variety of coffees and teas and the desserts are to die for! Lots of kids visited with their parents/grandparents when we were there for their "monster cookies". Extremely clean and all Covid-19 protocols were in place and strictly followed. No floor markings were required because tables were more than 6 feet apart maintaining limited capacity. Returning to Victoria in the summer and will definitely visit again because they have an amazing deck and outdoor seating area on the Galloping Goose Trail.

We were on a 5 day cycling tour of the island.
The best pit stop was no doubt at The Nest!! Facilities to help do minor repairs to bikes that gets a bit dented as we pedal our best. Water and even some treats for dogs. The shady, cosy nest ( not only a name!!) allows for a quiet quick power nap. And then I have not even started on the menu or the awesome Rebecca.
Rebecca fixed me up with an amazing affogato. The coffee ice cream ratio perfect and served with the broadest smile in town. And never mentioned that we were actually past her closing time.
Cyclist, walkers and any traffic on the trail, don’t ever miss an opportunity if you pass by. In fact, make the detour if necessary, it will be well worth your time.

Been meeting the same friends here weekly this (pandemic) spring and summer. We love it at The Nest. Fabulously situated, tasteful decor and in fact, tasty treats. Of course, we sit outside - and it’s very nature ‘green’) inspiring. Can’t speak to the coffee as tea’s my thing but haven’t heard my friends complain. We drive from downtown to commune there - 25 minutes drive). A real treasure.

It has such lovely outdoor options- but that's the only good thing I can say. very limited food items, average coffee and hot chocolate that was hot but missing the chocolate.. such a shame a beautiful location is a place I will never come back to.

Good place to meet for a quick bite. The inside sitting area is small but on a nice day there is a lot of outdoor seating, with a cover.
Minimal parking available, but many patrons were riding bikes to the restaurant.

The Nest is a great coffee shop with yummy snacks and great coffee.
Located on the Galloping Goose, it's a perfect place to take a break on a bike ride.
There are great places to sit inside and out and a doggy watering area.
You can't go wrong at the Nest!

My girlfriends and I stopped by this evening and had the most lovely time at Nest! Our server, a gorgeous lady with dark hair was super kind and helpful and made our experience very memorable :)
The lemon square also changed my life

Coffee (I usually order an Americano) has improved greatly since the new "reopen" in April. There are still a few rough edges (they need to bring in the sandwich boards from the trail when they are not open) but progress is being made. Good place for a break on the cycling trail.

My girlfriend and I were shocked to see 45$ price tag for 2 coffees and sandwiches if you can justify that price then you truly don't understand the value of currency.

We had been devoted Nest customers for the last 5 years. Recent change of ownership and direction - tried it out last last week. Coffee quality - somewhere between dishwater and instant (for an Americano). Price and sizing - higher cost, smaller cup (12 oz? really?). Life is too short for sub-par coffee.

Hi John. Allow me to start by thanking you for your honest feedback regarding your recent visit to The Nest Cafe. I am sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with your experience and I would like to address your concerns.
Firstly, our coffee - our new ownership team wanted to support local (especially during this very difficult time) and went with one of the most reputable roasters in Victoria. So far, our product has been tremendously well received so our apologies that you do not feel the same.
In regards to price and size - after market research, we determined the price is within industry standards so again, our apologies if this wasn't to your satisfaction. With that said, we do offer other sizes - 10oz, 12oz, and 16oz. So had we known that you felt the 12oz was not enough, we would have happily offered you a larger size.
I will conclude with again thanking you for your feedback but also a request. During these unprecedented times, the food & beverage industry is as volatile as ever. We are a new family run company trying to simply survive the pandemic whilst offering our community a place to visit and enjoy our product. We are open to feedback but we also are very hands on and would love to get your feedback in person so that we can make things right on the spot. Going to a public forum and comparing a business' product to "dishwater" is just as your heading reads - disappointing. These negative reviews can cripple a business and staying silent in person only prohibits our opportunity to make the corrective action to solve the problem for you in hopes to secure a following within our community.
If you aren't comfortable voicing your opinion in person, we do offer both myself and our General Manager's direct contact information. This would also be a very effective way to voice your concerns as we can ensure we make adjustments.
We sincerely hope you will continue to frequent the Nest as you have been in the past and allow us a chance to provide you with a superior experience.
Take care,
Brandon

Friendly staff !!
The coffee was well made, treats were tasty and the sandwiches were tempting looking, but didn't have one.
Location is surprisingly good, the patio made you feel like you are in the woods and it is right beside the Galloping Goose trail. Highway is nearby but we were surprised that we didn't notice.
Highly reccommend for a cup of coffee and a bit of conversation.

Stopped here on way to Thetis Lake. Very disappointing experience. Watery latte and uninspired food. Loud music and noise from highway when sitting on deck. So many good locally roasted coffees available elsewhere

Perfect location along the trail. Good coffee and treats. Eat in or out on terrace or down below on picnic tables. water out for dogs. Good place to lock up bikes and even some tools if you need to fix a little something on your bike

The Nest is a great cafe in View Royal. It is right alongside the Galloping Goose which has made it a destination for many bike riders and walkers. The drinks and treats are delicious. There are several delicious gluten free and/or dairy free options which cater to my needs. The patio is gorgeous on a sunny day and the interior is both lively and relaxing. This cafe is a must-see if you have not been
