We got there right before closing and they were nice enough to serve us quickly. We had Phad Thai and Fried Rice as well a Mango Tapioca drink. The food was solid and the service was expeditious. The portions were generous.

I read the reviews on Tripadvisor and thought we'd give it a try. As we approached the restaurant the open shops and restaurants petered out and the area was all looking a bit more run down. We stood outside looking at the menu looking at...each other and may have walked away when a lady came out and said don't hesitate go in. So glad we listened. The frozen strawberry margarita was perfect and the food was amazing. Portions are large so maybe a starter and a main between you is the way to go. I had the prawn Thai curry and it was full of succulent king prawns. So flavoursome. You can choose your own rate of spice too. I went for hot and wasn't disappointed. A family run business with friendly and helpful staff. I'd say the same to you as the lady said to us. If you want good food don't hesitate go in and enjoy.More

We came in 25 minutes before closing & the restaurant was still almost packed on a Monday. The 2 women staff were accommodating & gracious; the food was promptly made & very tasty. The location is near our hotel (Abigail’s). We definitely recommend.

Came here on the Boxing day holiday, very busy but worth the wait! Fresh quality, carefully prepared, tasted amazing! Staff were the best, kept things together, well-organized, friendly in the midst of a busy night. Second time here. We’ll be back!

We had such a great meal here! I had Penang gai and my husband had the garlic prawns And both were absolutely fantastic. I also had my first Thai iced tea. Yum! The service was so fast and friendly, even though the restaurant was very...busy. The Hostess that night (Oct 12) had such a great And friendly energy. You can tell that the owner really cares about customer service. Even the bathroom reflected that as it was very clean and had a nice selection of q tips, Feminine products, Hair ties etc for patrons who may need them. We can’t wait to go back!More

Wonderful meal at a busy spot and time of day. Servers were attentive and flexible, and adjusted orders based on diners needs. I had an amazing green curry with prawns (12 prawns!!), and I heard the next table being asked off fish sauce was okay,...because they ordered a plant-based meal. Highly recommend this spot.More

Some in our group of 6 had never had Thai food before. We told them, if they didn't like this, they shouldn't try it elsewhere because this was the best in our opinion! The portions were generous... you might want to share a selection. You...can choose your spice level... one of our party who loves spicy Mexican food choose the spiciest level and had a little challenge with it. :) There was a chicken wing option some of the other first timers really liked. We really enjoyed this experience. I’m not a Thai cuisine connoisseur but it’s among my best Thai food ever. Suki and Jena added to the enjoyment of the food. Be careful with the chilli sauce. They are seriously spicy!

Just went here last night. Wow what Outstanding, friendly service and generous, authentic and delicious food! Will be back for the yummy tofu pad thai and veggie dishes! My teen daughter thinks you are the best restaurant in town and I am inclined to agree....We just need to come here more often than once a year as it’s affordable and there’s always plenty of scrumptious leftovers.More

My partner and I have ordered takeout from Sookjai many times before but this was our first time dining in. We went for a birthday dinner, and we didn't tell the servers we were celebrating because we wanted to keep things lowkey. We were amazed...at the level of service we received. Our server was so warm, welcoming, and kind, and other servers would come to the table and check in. The food, as always, was delicious and fresh - definitely still my favourite Thai food in the city. This was the best dining experience we've had in Victoria in a long time and we left smiling. 10/10!More
