A Gem for Vernon, the atmosphere, food and service is second to none. The decor, food and service were all good but it was far too dark in the restaurant to be able to really enjoy our dining experience. Everyone had to use the flashlights on their phones to read the menu. My husband and both of I...ordered the Blackened Prime Rib. I need to trim the fat off my meat because the texture is gagging. I couldn’t see the fat so this created a less than optimal dining experience. When we paid the bill I offered some feedback to our server and she said that she’s heard this customer concern before but that’s the way the owner wants it. So with that in mind Vernon offers a handful of very nice restaurants such as Intermezzo, The Med & The Phoenix Steakhouse so I would recommend any of those over the Italian Kitchen to fellow diners.More

Due to the mudslide blocking the highway out of Vancouver, grocery stores and restaurants are unable to have all of their normal supplies; however, we had a nice meal of Caesar Salad (home-made dressing), Prawns, Ravioli (generous portion), Salmon, Creme Brulee, Water, Wine, and Espresso....The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The decor was brick and white lights. Eating out is expensive in general. But, well worth it. Thank you.More

An awesome dinning experience. Couldn't get in at the Med Restaurant across the street at 8PM..too late for them, so went across the street to the Italian Kitchen and glad we did. Had a Fantastic dinner. Covid compliant and a friendly welcome. Started with a...couple of good Sangrias and their version of a bocconcini salad with a slight drizzle of basalmic reduction. Very good. The Carbonara was rich and creamy and my Pescatore with 'blush' tomato sauce was Fabulous. We couldn't finish..but didnt leave anything behind. We were pleasantly surprised and delighted to pass up or original plan across the street and ventured to The Italian Kitchen. A must go to when in Vernon. We will. Thank you, grazieMore

We have eaten at Italian Kitchen more often recently than in the past. The food is consistently good and you can make reservations. We arrived at the restaurant last night on time and provided our name on the reservation. We were informed there was no...reservation for a party of 3. Unfortunately, someone with the same first name and number in the party came to the restaurant shortly before us and took our reservation spot even though they didn't have a reservation. We were told, sorry, no other tables were available. This is unacceptable service. The wait staff then informed us as long as we had our dinner and were finished before 6:30 p.m., we could stay and eat and use a table that was reserved. Italian Kitchen is not fast food but boy, we had to order quickly, eat quickly and get out. It sure would have been nice to have some sort of compensation for this behaviour. It wasn't our fault. We will have to consider not eating at the Italian Kitchen in the future. Doesn't seem like they really care for customers.More

The service was good. The rib eye was way over rated. It was more like a sirloin. And over cooked. I don’t mind paying for a good steak. But this was no better than what you’d get at Boston pizza.

We have been having a hard time finding a restaurant in Vernon that is open past 8pm as we have such full days that we aren't ready to eat until 730ish so when we saw this place we wanted to try. We were fully expecting...to be turned away( we have been turned away for sit in and take out at 5 other places in the 3 days we've been here because they were too busy or too close to closing) but IK accommodated our group of 8. The server said she was new but was super friendly and didn't miss a beat. She was funny and everyone working there seemed to enjoy themselves. The food was amazing. Everything was piping hot and huge portions. Almost everyone needed a doggie bag. Thanks for a great experience!More

My brother and I had Dinner at the Italian Kitchen on July 14 2021, Wednesday Evening. I started with a Caesar Salad, and my brother had the Soup of the Day, it was velvety rich tomato soup, it was so good, it vanished from his...soup plate, The portions were very generous. From the moment we sat down, they provided fresh water on ice, and kept refilling it for us, so refreshing. I had the Prawn & Scallop Linguine with Garlic Toast and he had Creamy Pesto Chicken Ravioli with Garlic Toast. Both were rich and full of flavor with lots of wonderful ingredients. Mine also had mushrooms, peas, diced tomatoes, fennel, tiny shrimp, baby scallops and Prawns. Very comforting and satisfying. So delicious. To finish I had Creme Brulee and my brother had the Tiramisu, both to die for good!! For beverages my brother enjoyed their coffee and I tried a Spritzer with fruits, Aperol and Prosecco, it went well with the seafood. Wednesday they have a Special Menu and focus on their Pastas a great day to come!! The server was very professional and attentive and juggled many customers very well. We went there yesterday Sunday July the 4th 2021. We were really impressed. The server was friendly, the food was excellent, well presented, hot plates, just the way we like it. We had some cocktails with Pernod prawns, Pescatore Linguine, and the BBQ ribs. Everything...tasted really good. We also had a bottle of Gray Monk Pinot Auxerois, that went very well with it. Compared to my previous experiences with the Italian kitchen, this was quite an enjoyable evening/ they are not cheap, and if you go make a reservation. Its a small place and fills up quickly. After last evening I can honestly recommend the Italian Kitchen for a nice evening out.More

Returned despite previous unhappy experience years before, as I had been assured by friends that things had changed. Service was friendly but erratic, even though the restaurant was only half full. Brushetta baguette was burnt on one side, which the cook then covered with the...topping and sent to our table. I scraped the topping off and showed our waitress. Her reaction was to assure us that the pasts would not be burnt as well. No apologies or offer to replace the ruined dish. I won't give them anymore chances, plenty of other great restaurants locally.More

First time visitor. Great ambience, outstanding service and excellent food. Enjoyed the chicken parmigiana and spaghetti. Cooked to perfection.

I love this restaurant in Vernon. The food was exceptional and the service remarkable. Our food was tasty and well prepared.
