Alta Bistro is one of my alltime favourite Restaurants and definitely the top favourite in Whistler. The menu is always adopted to seasonal and locally available food, which is prepared in a delicious way and never disappoints. Service is excellent and the waiter/waitress knows exactly what they are selling. Also, they will recommend you the perfectly matched wine to your... More

This has become our favourite restaurant in Whistler. It's a little pricier but totally worth it. The food is locally sourced, the dishes creative and overall menu excellent. The service is also great. Be sure to taste the bartender's signature cocktails and order the in-house-baked bread.

We visited this restaurant on the back of its reputation. A pleasant environment and great display of pickles. May be we just didn't choose well, my husband was presented with anaemic looking slices of pork with equally anaemic looking accompaniments and I chose a vegetarian mushroom tart which looked OK but I couldn't cut through the base! Considering we just... More

The menu was very original and they had great cocktails. The waiter knew very well what was on the menu and could give us some advice on what to choose according to our tastes. All the staff seem passionate about their products! Very nice atmosphere. Just loved the place!

Four of us ate here twice in the space of a few days and on both occasions had fabulous food and service. Highly recommended and next time we are in Whistler we shall definitely return. Food is locally sourced, beautifully prepared and served with a genuine enthusiasm. Our server, Jasmina, was knowledgeable and added greatly to our experience. Deservedly recognised... More

The food was very good, original, well presented. 5-6 choices of main meals. Only two choices of desserts. All meals were very good (bison, cod and duck). Both desserts were very good too (pear tagliatelle and dark chocolate dessert). Service was attentive. But, with one bottle of wine, tips & taxes, about 80$ per person. Worth it if you are... More

Tries to be inventive and innovative, but fails to deliver where it counts - ie taste and quality of ingredients. Tried many dishes and most were confused presentations and mediocre (if not poor) tasting.

My husband and I come to Whistler once every winter. This is the first time we have been here. It is off the main path, so we never knew about it. We ordered a couple craft cocktails - which were very good. For an appetizer we ordered the cheese plate, which is a good size. We also ordered the elk... More

Alta Bistro is slightly out of the Whistler concourse but well worth the effort. Its card is relatively short with around six of each course (locally sourced and regularly changed) but it's hard to see why you'd want more, since this is a place which concentrates on doing things well and produces the goods. The service is friendly and professional,... More

Whistlet locals live this little gem! Run don't walk to enjoy some of the best food and drinks available in Whistler! Owned and operated by a Whistler local this restaurant proves that local farm to table is the best way to showcase the amazing food produced in our Sea to Sky Region!

Description
Locally inspired cuisine set in a casual bistro atmosphere. Chef Nicholas Cassettari combines his classic training, top tier experience, and world travels with the best of B.C.'S bounty to create the fine flavours at Alta Bistro. Service is casual and prompt in the dining room and bar. The wine list is French focused, with the best of B.C. As well as international selections (many by the glass) with Enomatic machines dispensing fine and eclectic selections to pair with Alta's cuisine. Mixologists behind our bar craft some of Whistler's finest cocktails. The cozy bistro atmosphere is lively and welcoming. Reservations are a must.
