Good food, nice place, Foie Gras is excellent, may be pricier than other places, but worth to visit. They had some kind of issue with a center piece fire place, service is excellentMore

We enjoyed our visit to the fullest with appetizer, main course and dessert. Everything we ate was of very good quality and the Ribeye was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. But also the appetizers (Hand-Cut Black Angus Tartare, Grilled Octopus Tentacle)...and dessert were of excellent quality and tasted exquisite. The service was perfect and the waiter's recommendations for food and drink fully convinced us. It was an all-around successful, but also quite expensive evening.More

The legendary Thursday BBQ has returned to the SIDECUT! I asked around if Chef Arty was in the house. Sadly hardly anyone even recognized the name. Sigh. I was left hoping someone of material merit was in the saddle. Patiently waited for the starting gun,...which was very subtle this trip. Made the rounds, met Chef Michael who recommended the hot smoked beef brisket. To the eye, very nice slices with a delicate surface char and an ever so slight hint of pink in the center. Game On. Back at the table, I was not disappointed. Possibly the best beef brisket I have every eaten, certainly in the top three of my foodie life, and every bit as good at the best brisket I have enjoyed at prominent eateries in the Carolinas. So ride on Chef Micheal! The quinoa chilli and corn bread earned many approvals as did the paella. Certainly the best paella I have enjoyed in Canada. And better than my own so do give it a try. The desert bar was focused on the children, which was appropriate as the BBQ was not. And why worry about desert when the main plates were fabulous?More

I came here with a group of friends for a celebration. We had a late night reservation. Didn't realize that they were behind another restaurant where you had to enter through one to get to Sidecut (or where the same restaurant but two different names...for the two different areas?). Anyways, it was everything we expected. Decent food for the price you pay. If you like fine dining, then this is the place for you. If you don't care much for it, you can probably get better value elsewhere. We appreciate the restaurant for accommodating our food allergies. Dress code is resort casual but it seems like a loose definition when you look around the room. Parking is via the hotel valet. Make sure you get your server to validate before leaving.More

Having already eaten at Araxi, Rimrock, Earls and Quattro I wasn't sure I could be any more impressed, but Sidecut blows these other restaurants out of the water, We had a professional and genuinely friendly greeting from Tess; the hostess who showed us to our...table, on time and without delay. The restaurant setting is rich, contemporary and the glamorous gold leaf centrepiece fire instantly makes you feel special. There is plenty of space between the tables, and the attention from Deepesh (the manager) and Damien, our server and the assistant server (sorry, I didn't get his name) was perfect. Damien was a great help in talking to us about our food and drink choices, and our water glasses were always topped up and never fell below half-full. The 'bitter greens and roasted pear' wouldn't be my usual choice of starter but I'm glad I chose this, the pear and walnuts made a perfect and well-balanced combination and light enough to leave room for the iced and marinated oceanwise seafood platter, which looked very exotic and tasted so fresh, the oysters melted in your mouth. We moved on to the 'longbone ribeye steak - oh my word, this is not to be missed. It looked exactly like the photo on the website menu and was cooked to perfection, it was a slight challenge for three people, but luckily the two male members of my party managed to eat their way through (it could easily feed four people). My husband ordered the 'kale, balsamic and caramelised onion' as a side dish, which on paper didn't sound great, but was in fact the one side dish that all went, definitely give this one a try. Sadly no room for desserts - we shall have to go back another year and leave room to try one. There is no pressure to eat and leave and we felt relaxed, satisfied and thoroughly impressed - would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Whistler who wants one special night out.More

We've been coming to SIDECUT on every one of our trips to Whistler for nearly a decade. It used to be a great place but on our most recent visit it felt like everything was in decline. First off, we waited nearly 40 minutes for...our table (with a reservation) and so did several other tables of people. We were all crammed into the lobby area waiting for way too long. It's clear that with that many people waiting more than a half hour for their table to be ready, the staff really doesn't have a handle on how much time to allow for tables to turn. You rarely see that in really expensive, well-run restaurants. That may be because since the last time we were there, it felt like much of the staff had turned over: several servers we'd seen on every visit for the past eight or nine years were no longer there. (We ran into one of them working in another Whistler restaurant). Everyone working at SIDECUT on our most recent visit was doing their best but nearly all of them came across as new and overwhelmed. Also, the vibe was off -- or at least it was where we were seated. We were basically put in a conference room with four other tables and a ceiling fixture so glaring we felt like we were eating in a hospital cafeteria. When we asked to be moved to another room, we were told that everyone has the same complaint about the lighting, to please let management know the fixture really should be replaced, and that they couldn't offer us any other table. Finally, prices at SIDECUT have always been extraordinarily high, but this time it felt like a total rip off. I had a 5 oz filet tenderloin for $70 that literally came with nothing -- not a sauce, not a side dish, not a garnish. It was literally a tiny lump of tenderloin on a big white plate. If I wanted a sauce, I had to pay an extra $6 for it. (I did.) Maybe having to pay extra for a sauce to accompany a $70 five-ounce steak wouldn't have stung so much if we didn't have memories of SIDECUT from just a few years ago when servers would bring out a wooden tray with a selection of a dozen house-made sauces that came complimentary with every steak order. That little touch -- along with some of the others that are no longer there (like the amuse bouche and the fresh bread and house-made butter) -- made the experience so much fun we didn't even stop to think about how expensive it was. Like I said, we've been coming to SIDECUT for years, so seeing such extreme changes may be particularly hard for us, versus folks who are coming for the first time now and may be judging it on totally different criteria. But there are so many amazing fine-dining places in Whistler (even now in the age of COVID) that this one stood out for how disappointing it was.More

Absolutely amazing accommodation from our waitress (unfortunately didn't get her name)! My wife and I have been on our honeymoon in whistler for the last few days and have had a fairly uneventful time when it came to "over-the-top" service due to it being our...honeymoon. Both of us really don't expect much frankly but not one of the 4 dinner restaurants we went to during our stay did what Sidecut did for us. Our server gave us amazing service even before we mentioned that we were here on honeymoon (which we usually don't even talk about as it genuinely doesn't seem like most people care, fair enough!). That being said, after we had paid the bill she asked what we were here for and it came out that it was our honeymoon as we just got married a week before. Instantly she had said we should have said sooner as she would have brought us sparkling wine to celebrate and asked if we would like to stick around for a bit to enjoy some complementary sparkling. We of course said yes and had two nice glasses of sparkling wine for the two of us. She went way over the top and brought us a complementary dessert with "happy honeymoon!" Written in chocolate drizzle. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience, we will absolutely be back and this restaurant will be the #1 on our list. Cheers! Dave+ChrisMore

The Four Seasons Resort, Whistler BC, is a luxury boutique ski lodge hotel presenting outstanding pampering as well as iconic views of the Whistler Olympic caliber mountains. The property encases a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere and is just chucked full of amenities, amongst them, the...SIDECUT Steakhouse whose culinary delights are not to be missed. The SIDECUT has enjoyed a recent stellar redesign with architectural elements in keeping with the grandeur of the rest of the lodge. This restaurant portrays glam with a deep dark aura softened with expansive dining room windows which usher in the vistas of the snow capped mountain backdrop and warmed by a 'medieval castle' style fireplace that forms a dramatic epicentre for the dining area. The menu of the SIDECUT embraces a superb trifecta of exemplary meat items, fish products that taste like they just jumped from the Pacific Ocean into your plate and sides fabricated from farmed sourced greenery with herbs and spices culled from the resort garden. To wash everything down, the menu sports a very handsome wine list of local and worldly vintage. The menu is enticing, and not to forget the fish, I started out with the Grilled Octopus Tentacles (polenta, sautéed greens, lemon) and then opted for a main selection of Grass Fed Lamb Chops (I came for the meat).....superb....it's all about the free range and the special rub. To top up on my daily dose of caffein , I ordered a Tipsy Snowman (coffee with Baileys) and my choice of dessert was Infinite Chocolate Layer Cake (with raspberry)....if I order Chocolate Cake I want an infinite portion. At this point , I was in the mood for some bubbly but with the price of 2008 Don Perignon in the high 3 digits, I decided on a glass of local Ice Wine and save on my wallet. An exceptional meal......a memorable culinary experience in an equally memorable setting with accompanying top-notch service. This is the SIDECUT Steakhouse.............. at the Four Seasons Resort, Whistler.More
