We have been to 21 Steps several years in a row and they continue to deliver excellent food at a slightly lower price point than many of the high end competitors. You do need to book in advance as this place is very popular. They also have an active bar.

My partner and I were looking for a place to eat and came across this restaurant. The staff was approachable when entering the restaurant and brought us up to the top floor (the bar area, 3 floors). The restaurant was dark and more intimate feel to it. i got the large tiger prawns and scallops with coconut rice which was soooo yummy!!! I would DEFINITELY recommend that dish. The waitress was alright. very flat affect to her approach and didnt make conversation. the other waiters seemed more pleasant I wish they had a patio as it sucks to be inside during the summer and it was quite dark compared to the outside.

We spent 4 nights in Whistler and 21 Steps Kitchen was our favorite restaurant. We were not able to book a reservation the same day and ended up sitting at the bar. The fried goats cheese served with fresh bread was delicious, I really enjoyed the vegetarian stuffed poblano pepper, The bartender was personable and fun to watch.

We had been directed to the restaurant by a local but were not impressed with the menu items or the service. Our group of 4 all had salads which we unanimously agreed did not have enough dressing. The waitress explained that there was 2oz of dressing on the salad when we requested more! The pasta bolognese was OK but the deep fried "tiny bacon wrapped tenderloins" were not particularly tender and the horse radish was flavourless. A very mediocre meal all round.

Hype over substance ! Having been recommended we were looking forward to our evening. The place was super busy so there was a good atmosphere and we were given a pleasant table but the food was terrible The presentation was none existent and literally thrown on the plate. Overcooked meat fries and vegetables! No flavour completely overpriced! I think whoever was in the Kitchen was not a chef despite the advertising info outside the establishment Do yourself a favour and give it a wide swerve

My son was excited to bring us here for a very special 50th birthday dinner. So let down. Nothing felt special about the evening. One steak was overcooked - medium-rare and served with the slightest pink in the middle. The wine I selected from the menu was unavailable, when I asked to taste the wine recommended the reaction was like I had asked for a fee bottle (this was wine by the glass). We took dessert to go and the presentation was blah. The service was the biggest disappointment. You could eat anywhere in Whistler and receive substantially better atmosphere and service.

A very popular, and therefore busy, restaurant in Whistler. We ate there three times during our seven night stay and would highly recommend. The restaurant is on two levels and on the first two evenings we sat at the first level. On our last evening, we were shown up to the top level, but because of the much lower ceiling the noise was unbearable plus it was extremely dark and very difficult to read the menu. I asked the front counter staff if we could move downstairs and although there were no free tables at that time, we were told that a party had just paid their bill and that the table would be available for us shortly. We waited no more than 5 minutes and were then promptly shown to our table. This is a very busy, but well organised restaurant but all the service staff still had time to converse with the diners and make suggestions and recommendations.

We went to this restaurant without a reservation and were delighted when we could get a table about 15 minutes later. Our dishes were hearty, tasty and reasonably priced. The serving staff were really helpful and the restaurant had a postive vibe.

We were disappointed with our food at this restaurant. The small plate of filet mignon was cooked to well done. This made the meat tough. The flat iron steak ordered medium rare was blood red rare. Prices are high so having poorly prepared food made it even more disappointing. We will not be back nor will we recommend.

We came here on our first night and were excited to carbo-load before our first day of skiing. We ordered appetizers and four different entrees and none of us loved our meals. I was happy they had a gluten free menu, complete with a gluten free pasta option but I just wish it tasted better. We were simply disappointed. I would say this was our least favorite restaurant that we tried in Whistler. To anyone wondering, there are in fact 21 steps in the stairway up to the restaurant.

21 Steps has been in Whistler since 2004. We went while they were having a prix fixe special. We reserved a table and rather than putting us in the main dining room we were seated in ‘the Attic’ . It was up a dark , dingy , narrow stair case. The room was dark dreary and had no ambiance! It was reminiscent of a college bar. Our table was very small and up against a wall in the corner of the room. Service was attentive but very unprofessional. Food runner set a plate down with his thumb over the rim and onto the salad ( Covid? ) . Both salad starters were under dressed .... the 21 steps salad had no dressing but, there were pits from the orange slices mixed into the salad. A light on the table would have been appreciated. The short ribs were nicely presented but under seasoned. Cheese cake was light and fluffy. Won’t be rushing back !

Would recommend this restaurant. My 13 year old son, who is a picky eater, loved the short rib dinner. My salmon pasta was delish and light and my husband's filet with cajun butter was really good.

This restaurant was recommended and we were quite disappointed. Perhaps it was a fluke. We ordered the salmon and the prawns and scallops. Particularly disappointing, was the salmon. The vegetables served with it were steamed to a rubbery consistency and the salmon did not taste like fresh pacific salmon. Again, maybe this is not usual and was an off night for them.

We have been to 21 steps before, usually to the attic spot but this time we went with our 1 year old. we made reservations prior as with covid, anything in Whistler is hard to get. We were seated right away and given a nice spot. Th ambiance isn't the greatest but it's still a nice place. We ordered the braised beef and pork tenderloin along with a kid's pizza. The food was great and very tasty. Our waitress, sorry forgot her name was amazing. Only downside was the sun was in our eyes and the blinds don't really help, not th restaurants fault but incase.

We’d been there in pre-Covid times, and our recent visit was just as good. Good Covid plan gave us a well-organized entry, lots of space around our table, and excellent service. The food was really good - warm olives to start; pasta with salmon and risotto as mains. A nice Pinot Noir from their good selection of wines in 1/2 liter carafes went well with all of that. The option of QR code or paper menus was nice. Good, friendly atmosphere. Well worth the visit.
