Four of us came here for dinner and have a very lovely evening. Our waiter, Murph, was excellent and really helped craft the experience. We were staying at the Whistler Village so had to grab a cab to take us (they don't have any Uber...or any other ride apps). It's very unassuming outside, but the inside is very nice, similar to other eateries we went to in Whistler it is dimly lit and cozy. We got the table next to the fireplace which is a double edged sword -- I happily embraced the heat for the ambiance! I appreciate the simplicity of their menu, no overwhelming or trendy menu items that I had to look up or decipher - they keep to the basics and it works. We started with some oysters and the cauliflower app. Both were very nice. Each couple ended up ordering a filet mignon and the special ling cod entree to share. They were both delicious. The cod was so soft and served with a mushroom risotto. While not very picture worth, the filet was cooked to the perfect temperature and they kindly substituted the mashed potatoes for fries on one of them without even flinching. We all got to pick our own sauce to accompany it as well. We were too full to try the dessert, but I'm sure it would have been good as well.More

Usually go to the Rim Rock once or twice per visit to Whistler from UK - our 20th in a row approximately and as ever it was excellent, especially the very good service from Lucia, our waitress

With all of the glowing reviews, I was expecting to be blown away. Solid restaurant, very good but perhaps not great (?).

This was our second time visiting this restaurant and it was wonderful. The best item though hands down was the Lin Cod and we are ready to go back - just for that! The next best was the Scallop appetizer- must have and really nice...to be able to have that as an appetizer. The seafood antipasto was good - not great and i was very surprised by the bread which we ordered because we were starving was not good at all. They bounced back well with the rest of the dinner it was disconcerting at first. Please note - it’s a fairly tight space up there and you have to make reservations well in advance as it’s probably one of the most popular restaurants for visitors and locals. The restaurant pricing was also fair based on the quality and service- so definitely recommend enjoying this restaurant as they really deliver a wonderful meal.More

A short bus trip from the main village, we had Christmas dinner here and the food was amazing. We dined on lobster bisque, pumpkin ravioli, venison, scallops & sticky pudding. This is not an inexpensive restaurant but everyone we spoke too, commented this was Whistlers...best and the food don’t disappoint. When in Whistler, we would definitely eat here again.More

Close to Whistler village this restaurant had such good reviews, we could not miss giving it a try. We got the bus from Whistler Village for $5ca each way. When we arrived, it didn't look like we were at the right place but walking through...the carpark and entering the waiting area we found it. It seems a strange place for the restaurant and feels like it is more isolated than it really is. We were booked in for 8pm but arrived early and was offered to eat at the bar if we wanted to but we decided to wait for the table. The restaurant was extremely busy which is usually a good sign (and it was!), We went back downstairs to the waiting area which had a log burner running and with the low lighting gave a really warm glow to the room. It was not long before we were called for our table. The restaurant was lively and had a good atmosphere. It is renowned for its seafood which is brought in fresh from Vancouver every day I believe. At this time of year most restaurants are doing 3 course special deal and theirs was $69ca per person (approx £41) and the choice was really good with 2 starter lists plus entrée and dessert and you choose 1 entrée and 2 other courses. We had lobster bisque and mussels as our starter followed by chèvre and seared scallops and for main we both had the rack of lamb and everything was perfect and tasty. They have an exceptionally large wine list but we opted for a cocktail and a local beer - Hope You’re Happy IPA. The visit was excellent from start to finish and we were looked after by an exceptional waitress - Kelly who made the experience even more enjoyable (if that was possible!). Thanks Rim Rock!More

The only problem with Rimrock Cafe is that it ruins you for most every other dining experience in the area. After Rimrock we dined the following evening at one of Vancouver's (and Canada's) best rated restaurants. It didn't come close to Rimrock on any level....Rimrock's venison with spätzle is better than any eaten in places as distant as Austria and New Zealand. My wife's halibut set a new standard for her. Our server was spot-on with food descriptions, but warm and completely unpretentious. The entire restaurant oozes rustic refinement and conviviality. We don't know where else we can go for such an enjoyable meal.More

Visited this restaurant whilst on a short stay in Whistler, after reading the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent and could not be faulted and a special mention goes to Anton, who looked after us impeccably. Our only slight...niggle was, that our table wasn't ready for us when we arrived, so had to stand and wait and were not even offered a drink whilst we were waiting and then our food was a little slow coming initially but then service picked up. Unfortunately this made us late for a reservation we had somewhere else and we had to rush our desserts, which was a shame. However the restaurant was full and they had a large party in that evening. Not a cheap meal out by any standards but we are in Whistler after all, so you expect to pay top dollar. We gad the 3 course fall special, which had plenty of choice for everybody in our group. Definitely go, if in Whistler, you won't be disappointed.More

Amazing is all we can say. We went here because everyone we talked to in town said this was the best restaurant in Whistler. Whistler does have many wonderful restaurants, but Rimrock might be the best. We had raw and cooked oysters. The raw were...fantastic and the cooked were uniquely prepared and fantastic. The rack of lamb was perfectly prepared and plated with vegetables. And then…..was the seafood trio. Salmon, Seared Ahi and we substituted in Halibut instead of prawns. It was hands down the most creative seafood dish we have ever had and an absolute must order. The wine selections are outstanding and the service was casually perfect. All in all an outstanding experience. We will definitely be back!More

Nice casual wear is acceptable. Shoes, sandals for women. No slippers or flip flops. Collared shirts for men. No shorts, cut offs . BTW, try the sticky toffee dessert.
