ducked in here during wind storm and little to no visibility, found that many others had as well. It's a small, quaint lodge that offers just a few things and specializes in waffles. When it's crowded it's a bit hard to get around, but the...waffles were really good and it's a worthwile visit.More
It was one of those rare, cold, sunny fast and dry snow days that really builds an appetite up. I decided to treat my self to the best retro ski hut meal and ambience in memory... across the Peak 2 Peak (R) down the backside...up Crystal lift and ready to dig in. It was awful, full stop. The wood burning brick oven that has perfectly cooked so many meals is out of use, behind a jumble of restaurant equipment. The waffle presses remain but the classic menu is gone. What would you like someting out of the steam table bins? Prepared elsewhere and reheated here for your dining pleasure? Same basic stews as Chick Pea but at a further premium yet. And basically bland to boot. And a dear boot at that. The beautiful wood tables are gone, replaced with synthetic table tops that don't all match in height. Did I mention the head banger music so loud you can't talk to the person beside you? If I want to barf at Garf's I would go to Garf's. I am sure glad the head bangers will sustain the economics of this emporium as I won't be and I will never reccomend it to others, especially European visitors who tend to know what food and ambience are. Since the headbangers the music, I will report my summation in their vernacular: #EpicFail #EpicAvoid.More
VERY limited menu. Best known for their waffles with sweet berry sauce whipped cream banana and bacon ... in my opinion waffles like this aren’t a lunchtime food ... I ordered the soup and Caesar salad. It was below average at best.
We visited this place with Canadian wilderness, guide Brock, very good food, with great view, really good!
The Crystal Hut is at the top of the Crystal chair, Blackcomb mountain. Seating inside & out. Amazing views. Good value coffee. The waffles are very popular. Great spot for a coffee stop or lunch.
We stopped her for drinks a number of times during our 10 day stay. It’s a lovely hut similar to what we’re used to seeing in the alps. Plenty of outdoor seating and stunning views. They se e waffles and a couple of hearty meals...per day, we had stew on one occasion and it was delicious. They also serve a range of drinks and cakes/snacks, perfect for a refuel.More
Popped in for a mid-afternoon snack. Unfortunately all they had left was waffles but that was fine (especially for the kids). We were lucky with our seating so be sure you have seating before ordering otherwise you're out in the cold. Staff seem to be...all aussies and ate a friendly bunch. Will be back.More
The location is lovely and the outside sitting area has amazing views. This is a great location. However, they need to do so much better at organising the place and themselves. Just keep an eye on space and TELL PEOPLE BEFORE they get their lunch...if it is full! Our stew was watery, a very small portion for a lot of money and only just warm by the time we got a seat to eat it.More
The venue is located in the ski arena of Whistler. They have inside and outside seating from which the view is great. We had drinks and waffles only which were good. The service is very kind.
