We decided to have their burger and were surprized that is was so greasy,,,actually dripping, and tasteless,,,and they were very skimpy with the fries....so for the price not worth it. They do have a great selection of beer and the staff are cheerful and friendly. They were short staffed on that day so service was a bit slow.

I visited the Hemmingway a couple of times during my stay in White Rock. I was in a party of 5 adults and 5 children and we were made to feel really welcome. Staff was friendly and efficient even when the bar was busy. Food was very good and served promptly. Nice place to sit and enjoy the seaview and... More

Been here many times, the tuna and quinoa salad was my go to thing except i had it with greens instead of quinoa. Generous portion of tuna as well. This time i sat on the deck, had a nice fresh Kronenbourg beer in a frosty glass, excellent. Ordered the clam chowder, extremely disappointing. Heavy onion and lemon flavour, tiny amount... More

Situated on the main strip of a sleepy beach town, the Hemingway was a nice lunch spot. The ambiance was casual and relaxed with an unobstructed view of the water. We sat on the patio, which was warmed quite nicely by the heaters (and sun). We ordered honey brown ales (on draft)-I wish they had these in the US! We... More

We go to Hemmingways mainly for their Blues evenings on Friday's and Saturdays. The JRG group has done a great job at revitalizing Lower Mainland pubs. Providing entertainment, passable pub food and a reasonable Beer choice with something for everybody. When they first opened they had adequate staff, fast service and most food quite well cooked . My favourites the... More

Went again for a drink and dinner after work , place was just about empty , all the girls working were more interested in gossiping with each other than serving , guess they are more interested in their late night business , than locals , 10 minutes to get first drink, another 10 min for them to take food order... Stopped by for lunch on a cold fall day. Loved the atmosphere... Warm fireplace and welcoming staff. We had a couple really good drinks and the fish and chips were excellent. Not too expensive for the location and view. Service was great. We'll definitely be back.

We had been here before and was great. Service is still excellent but the food/cooking wasn't close to being on par. The show a fried chicken burger and the wife asked to have it grilled. Server said no problem at all. I got my beef dip..was good. Wife's grilled chicken burger was burnt. They didn't even try and hide the... More

We visited during "Taste of White Rock" and hoped for a culinary special. We ordered a seafood dish and it definitely wasn't what we hoped for. The exterior had always made the place seem interesting but the inside was spartan, at best. Guess we should have realized it was basically a pub.

Walked here from our hotel as they recommended it for food. Sat on the veranda in the dark with glazed fire displays and a over head heater, toasty but pleasant. Ate light as I had scoffed in Vancouver, but the waiting staff are awesome and its a great looking place. Nice walk back make this a highly rated destination.
