Yesterday we had a birthday dinner for six people. They seated us at a table with a nice view. We ordered the “Georgian Supper” and the food was just amazing. The kitchen staff was kind enough to offer vegetarian options as well for one person...at our party. We also enjoyed the selection of Georgian wines. The servers were courteous and attentive. We were also pleasantly surprised when Chief Larysa personally talked to us after the party and wished a happy birthday. Saperavi is a great restaurant to spend some quality time at.More

Was looking forward to dining here as read some good thing things, but I can say the sevice was the worst I have ever experienced and go often to varous restaurants. We arrrived at our reserved time 6:30 and were seated. We were the only...ones there. Waitress came back with menus and water and we said we would like a few minutes to look at the menu but we would each have a glass of wine to start. I asked what was their house wine . She did not know and I asked Cabernet or Shiraz. She thought It was Cabernet so I order two glasses. After a long wait she finally arrived and put down our glasses and left. We each had a sip and our reaction was instantaneous. The wine was bad. I mean real bad and undrinkable. The waitress was nowhere to be found. I finally got up and went looking for her but couldnt see her anywhere. Finally went in the kitchen and found her, told her about the wine. She came and took the two glasses and after a long wait finally came back with a sample of the new wine. My wife took a small sip and said it was ok. Waitress took the sample glass with still some wine still in it and left eventually returning with two glasses. To my dismay my glass had a smear of lipstick on it and I was going to go look for her again when I realized it was my wifes sample glass which the waitress had topped up with wine. So I let it go. After sipping on the wine, no waitress so I went looking for her in the kitchen so we could place our order. My wife order the chkmerul and I ordered the veal shashlik. After waiting forever and our wine and water glassed dwindling she show up with my wifes meal and said mine would be out shortly. No word on asking if we wanted more wine or our water glasses refilled. I told my wife to go ahead and start so it doesnt get cold. My wife was halfway thru her meal when mine arrived. My wife was very pleased with her meal whereas my meat was over cooked and dry as shoe leather. But at this stage I was not about to complain as I had no idea of where the waitress was and I was starving after sitting there for almost two hour. So I kept dipping my veal in my wifes sauce to soften it. At last another couple came in and were seated.. We finished ou meal, our wine and water and waited for the waitress to at least come and ask us about our meal and to at least refill our water glasses. Finally I decided it was time to leave so went looking for the waitress to get our bill. Found her and she eventually brought our bill. This is the worst service I have ever experience in any restaurant. It was actually no service. I was tempted not to leave a tip but the waitress had an accent so I assumed a new imigrant so I feft sorry for her. Now that I have had more time to think about it I probably should not have left a tip and told her why, but I am not that type of an indiviual. That was our first and definately our last visit to Soperavi.More

This restaurant provides excellent Georgian cuisine, pleasant servers and a sophisticated flare with a professional violinist on the special occasion of Valentine’s Day. Be sure to order the traditional flatbread with a cheese and egg centre. . The bread comes hot from the oven. Also..., try the lamb stew. Perfectly spiced and ample in serving. A great place to spend the eveningMore

This was an amazing find. A wide selection of international beers and wines. We had a Georgian red wine that I’m going to buy for home. The variety of both vegetarian and meat dishes will satisfy everyone.

We found this restaurant listed in a brochure at St. Boniface Cathedral, Googled it, good reviews. It's Georgian food with Ukrainian servers who were very friendly. We had the Pkhali. Tasty starter. The Chakhokhbili was a very good chicken stew. 3 tender drum sticks in...lots of seasoned sauce. I had it with the basmati rice. The Khinkali dumplings were freshly made, more like super large ravioli. The restaurant is classy enough for a date too. Good experience. Tipped 20%.More

We ate there yesterday with another couple. The food was very good but the service was awful. Each couple ordered an appetizer to share and mains. My wife and I got our salad fairly quickly while our friends waited at least another 20 minutes for...their appetizer. A long time later, they received their mains but ours didn't come out for at least another 20 minutes. No explanation from the server. Finally I had to find her and ask why our friends received their food and we didn't. Shortly after that our mains finally arrived (our friends had long since finished theirs)-and mine was cold! I had to send it back and wait for at least another 20 minutes for a replacement. I could see the same thing happening at other tables-meals weren't brought out for the whole table at once but bit by bit over a long time. The kitchen is obviously very disorganized and can't handle the restaurant being busy.More

My family’s and friends’ favourite restaurant in Winnipeg is the first Georgian food restaurant - Saperavi. I was born in Georgia, and know the Georgian cuisine very well. Saperavi is a unique place, with an excellent staff, a very pleasant atmosphere and fantastic choice of...food! I feel like I am back to my native country Georgia. The choice of wines is perfect. If you once try Kindzmarauli, Khvanchkara or Mukuzani-you will never drink anything else. Thank you, SAPERAVI!More

We go to this restaurant as a couple, and with a company (colleagues at work). And every time we are very satisfied. This is probably the best Georgian restaurant in Winnipeg. The last 8-9 months have become especially noticeable. The food in this restaurant is...much tastier and healthier than in fast food restaurants. We always come here for the signature dishes. I especially liked the khachapuri, and my colleagues also liked khinkali. Although, to be honest, I still liked the borscht. :) For such delicious food, I want to thank all the staff and especially the chef, because the work of the restaurant and the kitchen depends on the chef. It will be my birthday soon so I will try to come here with my friends. Great establishment, great chef, delicious food!! I recommend !!More
