Took a friend who needs a gluten free diet. Looking at the reviews I thought this would work. I should have known when they brought warm water to our table.Food was awful...chicken fingers were dry as they were over cooked. Salad had wilted lettuce and...actually tasted fishy.Way over priced. They took a whopping 1.55 off the $15.50 item. Staff were nice but would never recommend this place.. No bill was brought to our table.More

We traveled from Kenora for our year-end class trip today. One of our very special destinations was Cocobeans, as one of our students is highly alergic to gluten. It was a special moment for all of us to order and eat together in a restaurant...in Winnipeg. For our one student, we were able to finally be in his world with regards to food restictions, together, and loved every bite! The staff were amazing, the food was delicious and our students felt comfortable with the warming atmosphere. Thank you Cocobeans staff, front and back, who stopped in to say kind words to the kids and their teachers. Great job all around! The kids also loved their dessert treats on the ride home as well!More

Menu offered some interesting choices. Soup of the day was chicken pineapple! Now that was a new one for me. Clear broth and lots of chicken with interesting flavours. The chick pea salad was extremely good. Loved the dressing. Lots of flavour. The beef and...goat cheese burger was small, slightly dry but the flavours were good. The spicy mayo was just the kick it needed. Chai lattes and herbal teas were good as well.More

Specifically went there with an out of town guest as there are so few vegan choices in Winnipeg. Have been there before, liked the products we had. This time we asked the counter person what was in the truffles as this was something new we...wanted to try. She had no idea, guessed there was vanilla. Turned out to be some sort of red filling, not even sure what it was but it was horrible! My daughter didn't want to exchange it for something else (not to make a scene). The staff should know what is in all of the products, if you don't know then ask! Won't be returning. That was a waste of $4.50 (WAY overpriced!!). Won't be back.More

Cocoabeans is an amazing restaurant and one of my favourites in Winnipeg. The menu is entirely gluten-free and features many vegan and vegetarian options which is fantastic for those of us with dietary limits. The restaurant is clean and decorated nicely, with a cozy and...relaxed atmosphere. The seating is limited, however, and the restaurant is often busy. I absolutely LOVE their menu. I have tried the Sweet Potato Burger, Taco Salad, Quinoa Salad, Chickpea Salad, Yam Fries and their Kombucha on-tap. Everything has tasted incredible, fresh and flavourful. They also serve cafe drinks and have a variety of sandwiches, burgers, salads, and other meals. They sell some of their salad dressings, quinoa chili, homemade hummus, and other items in their refrigerated/frozen area. They also sell delicious baking and treats like homemade peanut butter cups, date bars, cupcakes, cookies, brownies and more. All of their baking that I have tried is so good! Many of their baking is vegan as well. The service has been hit and miss during my multiple visits. I have experienced staff who haven't had a very friendly or positive demeanour, while other times the staff have been polite, professional and positive. I hope this can improve for the future! I always love enjoying a meal at Cocoabeans and will continue to eat here often.More

Husband got the veggie breakfast and I had the banana choc chip pancakes.... food was delicious and we would go back. However we wouldn't sit outside as there were a ton of wasps - of course this isn't the fault of the cafe, just how...it goes sometimes.More

We happened upon this excellent restaurant and bakery entirely by chance - and what a lucky break The wide-ranging menu offered my gluten-intolerant dining companion an opportunity not found in 'regular' restaurants: the freedom to order (almost) anything. And baked goods to go. Bonus! Our...brunch of spinach and feta omelettes was delicious: the omelettes light and fluffy, the accompanying mixed vegetables crisp and tasty and everything (including the toast) hot from the kitchen. The coffee was worth a second cup, too - although charging us $1 for the refill seemed a bit ungenerous. Nonetheless, we'll be back whenever we return to Winnipeg.More
