I can see why this local Winnipeg restaurant grew over the years! Came to Winnipeg in 2007 and saw their original restaurant in Inkster Blvd, and now they’ve expanded to having 3 restaurants in the city. This one we went too was near The Forks...and at the heart of downtown Winnipeg. Awesome location! Has ample parking. This was a good introduction for us to East Indian food. The spices are just right to my Filipino-Canadian palate. As a Filipino, I can handle spicy foods, but also living in Canada for so long, some spices may now be very strong for me. I know East Indian food have really strong spices, and Clay Oven did an awesome job of being able to balance it to accommodate all cultures who would like to have an adventure with other different cuisines! The food didn’t shock us at all, but instead, it made us appreciate East Indian cuisine, and we sure would want to come back to try more from their menu! It’s delicious, and really filling! I loved their Mozzarella naan bread! I also liked their spicy sauces, especially the mint sauce. They had so much meat on each viand, and it was totally worth the cost. The place is beautiful, wide, and clean! The servers are awesome! They did a great job handling us as their first time customers! They answered every question we asked, and gave us enough time to look at the menu, to have conversations, even though they were about to close, they didn’t rush us. Thank you Clay Oven staff for your hard work! We’ll definitely come back here and recommend them!More
