We went for dinner for 5:30 pm. on a thursday. We were seated promply and the server introduced himself as Ryan and welcomed us. We were never rushed by him and he provided excellent service. The place has an old steakhouse feel and look (not...dreary) but sophisticated which is very nice and comfortable. The menu is quite large and has somthing for everyone. A fabulous dinner! My husband and I went for dinner. This was the place we had our first date over 20 years ago. Do not know why we have not gone back more often, but it was an exceptionally wonderful experience. The food was fabulous...and the service wonderful. An amazing evening . A very elegant steakhouse . Delicious quality cuts of meat or chicken and seafood! The very gorgeous bar - the drinks are Delicous too. We arrive and are greeted by the nicest owners! Seated and served like we were royalty by...Ryan. Ryan once heard us speaking of our son- he remembered his name after hearing it once . He knows when to come to table and doesn’t overstay- just makes sure you are 150% served and happy! The service and food is remarkable and we recommend everyone visiting as it won’t be your last visit … Ask for Ryan to serve you- he’s the BEST! Where shall I begin, walked in sat at the bar waited for a good 15 minutes nobody came. I then had to walk into the dining area and ask for help. The bartender came asked if he could help me, I ordered a French onion...soup( tasted like a can of Campbell’s French onion soup) escargot. They also brought out a basket of bread. (Which was definitely not fresh bread at all) totally disappointing, since I love bread. Also ordered an adult beverage. I enjoy going to nice restaurants and thought, this may be one with great food. But I was so very wrong. Definitely, will Never go back. I will stick to Hy’sMore

On Friday, 17 nursing classmates gathered for a fabulous luncheon in the Green Room at Maxime’s. We were graciously welcomed by Yvette, Margaret and Darrell. The room was perfect for our group as we were able to visit easily without disturbing other guests. We are...a lively group. Our service by Margaret and Darrell was excellent. Friendly, attentive and very efficient. The meals we ordered were all great..the tuna Waldorf special and regular lunch menus were excellent. It is nice to go to restaurant that offers a breakfast menu at lunch. Everyone had a great time, visiting, enjoying the house Pinot Grigio and the decadent, delicious desserts. The pistachio chocolate and raspberry lemon desserts were awesome. Thank you so much for the wonderful service, the room and the menu. We all agreed heartedly that we will return ,in the Fall.More

We were there for a retirement dinner with friends. The atmosphere is lovely elegant but homey. the food is Wonderful Appetizers calamari ,the spinach goat cheese. dip is to die for and they give you lots of pita wedges for dipping. The chicken Neptune is...divine,salads as well.I really don’t think you can make a mistake with anything you order here. Debbie was our server for the evening and she was spot on with everything. she was so friendly and outgoing.The place was packed on a Thursday night which shows it’s a Winnipeg fav spot .I know we will be returning again soon. Waitress was great, mashed potatoes tasted like boxed potatoes, gravy tasted like it was from a can, food was cold- but plates were scalding. Hadn’t been in 20 years… and definitely now know why. Coffee was great though !More
