I never order Chinese but had a really good take out meal a couple years ago so decided to order again. Tons of food with chicken balls full of white meat and the right amount of batter unlike most places, tasty spicy salted shrimp, mushroom chop suey and egg rolls. Really enjoyed it all and there are lots of leftovers so it’s a good value.

Shrimp was good. Almond Chicken soo gai was just a cut up chicken breast with sauce on the side. Bit on the pricier side too.

Without a doubt, it is the best Chinese food in Winnipeg since Shangrila on Portage west 40 years ago Got delivered and it was fresh, warm and incredibly tasty...not greasy or full of fillers like most Chinese food here..This is now my ONLY place to order from

We arrived just before 2, and we were told the buffet closes at 2. Fine. We ordered à la carte. Right after the first dish arrived, we were given the bill and told the place closes at 2:30. We had to pay before we finished, and she pointed out that I hadn’t left a tip. Food was okay, not exciting. Deluxe vegetable had maybe 4 shrimp and a lot of broccoli.

Horrid food

We ordered hot and sour soup. It had so much vinegar it was unbeatable. There was nothing in but tofu and 2 shrimp. Also ordered mu shui beef. The pancakes were very tiny and the beef was so big it hardly fit in the pancake. Shanghai noodles also had 3 shrimp and the noodles were gummy.

There's something for everyone!

I keep a vegan diet so its hard to find a good place to accommodate. But this place has lots of options for those who do or don't eat animals. They even upon request can make their most delicious soup- the hot and sour- vegan!!! The rest of my family enjoys the shrimp dishes and the rest. And sis loves their combo meal which is a super deal and has a bit of everything. The staff at this family fun restaurant is very attentive and we always enjoy going here.

Best Chinese food in Winnipeg

Had eaten here at least 30 times in the past couple years. Each time seems better than the visit before. Excellent service and ownership. Lunch buffet has never disappointed and is very reasonable at around $11.00. Food is always hot, cooked perfectly and seasoned tastefully. By far the best Chinese food in Winnipeg!

We have tried numerous Chinese Restaurants over the years and decided to try Phoenix on the advice of a friend. Very glad we did! Phoenix is now our new #1 Chinese Restaurant! We tried 7 dishes and while they were all very good ... our super favorites were the Dry Breaded Shrimp, Dry Breaded Veal, Cantonese Chow Mein. YUMMY!!!

I visit and order take out or visit every week. Excellent service so kind and great full. Lunch buffet is amazing with chicken wings, beef and shrimp. Take is big and good they give rice and fried rice with your order. Love you guys she she.

Great Chinese restaurant! I’ve been for the lunch buffet and would recommend that you phone ahead to get a reservation. This little restaurant is very busy. Buffet was good. Took granddaughters (age 4 & 8] there for dinner. They loved the brown fried rice, lemon chicken and French fries. I had crispy ginger beef dinner. Granddaughters made sure that I split the leftovers 50/50 with them! Lots of parking at this location. Close to shopping. Reasonably priced.

THEY DIDN'T ALLOW ME TO EAT IN THEIR RESTAURANT BECAUSE I WAS BY MYSELF

THIS PLACE DOES NOT DESERVE EVEN 1 STAR! I am by far disgusted by this restaurant and the servers/managers who operate the business. THEY DON'T ALLOW PEOPLE WHO ARE EATING BY THEMSELVES IN THE RESTAURANT during the buffet and make you wait and starve. I went for the lunch buffet on MARCH 15, 2019 (FRIDAY at 11:30AM). I told the server I was just by myself and she said she couldn't accommodate me because I am eating by MYSELF and I would need to eat with a group in order to eat at the restaurant for that specific time. There were PLENTY of tables opened because they just opened and kept saying she couldn't accommodate me and then she said if I can wait 45 minutes then she can take me in. But my lunch break would be done by then. The server did offer to use the buffet but for take out with 1 container (same price as dine-in) and a beverage - The size of the container for this take out was DEFINITELY not worth my money as it was a 2 inch by 5 inch container so I declined the offer. The manager of the restaurant was ALSO just as bad and didn't have a reason to back up her response and why I couldn't eat in their restaurant. If I am a customer and you actually VALUE your clients, you would make EVERYTHING possible to have this person eat at your restaurant esp if it is only 45 minutes. I was just so shocked that I received a response like. NEVER WILL I EVER COME TO YOUR RESTAURANT EVER AGAIN AND I WILL SHARE THIS ALL OVER SOCIAL MEDIA.

Ordered some takeout on a Sunday afternoon as we had an overnight stay at an airport hotel and wanted to stay in on a very cold and windy evening. Szechuan shrimp is excellent with a full dozen in the order and it's nice and spicy. Singapore noodles could be better, were rather bland with not enough curry flavor. Will try it again when we return home. Service was friendly and quick.

Excellent New Years Eve meal!

Because it was New Years Eve we were able to choose any one of 20 combination plates. Each one included chicken fried rice, egg roll and consomme soup. There was so much food we had enough for lunch the next day. This was at $12 a person!!!! Their daily lunch buffet is amazing too. Monday - Sunday under $12 a person.
