This is a lovely little restaurant in an older neighborhood in Winnipeg (Charleswood). They do mostly Greek food, but you can still get a burger and fries, if that's your preference. My husband had chili fries and I had the special: Greek ribs, shrimp skewer, lemon potatoes, sautéed mushrooms, and beets topped with feta. My starter was a Greek salad. The salad was nicely dressed - some places drown their salads in dressing, but not Taverna Rodos. Very tasty with a good sprinkling of feta. My ribs were well seasoned and the shrimp had just the right amount of garlic. This is a wonderful restaurant which you can count on for good service and a delicious meal.

I have been here many times and it is consistently excellent served up with great customer service. That combination makes it easy for me to brag about my experiences with this wonderful local treasure.
They have absolutely nailed the same winning combination in the midst of this Covid time. Well planned and very organized.
It is important to support independent restaurants every day but when a business makes an exceptional effort to ensure the standard of excellence that is offered here it just speaks volumes if their ongoing commitment to their clients.
I can't say enough good things about their entire operation.

I have eaten at least 6 times at this Restaurant in the past year. It is a Greek restaurant that serves Souvlaki, steak, chicken, liver and other entrees. They give you a lot and the prices are reasonable. I have never had a bad meal. i would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We were seated on the patio, right beside the door. Every customer and server went in and out frequently and gathered by the door. Lots of people unmasked. Not all servers wore masks. Server put salt and pepper shakers on the table when most restaurants are providing the individual packets to avoid multiple contact. I had gyro pita and there was more pita than gyro meat. Greek salad was disappointing. I normally have this salad. Lacking dressing and very little feta - usually very generous. Server was hard to flag down at times. During Covid time, I rarely go out to eat so this treat to me was disappointing.

Lunch for three. Reuben sandwich was well made and presented. Lots of salad in side order. Chicken fingers may not have been made in house. Greek lemon soup was hearty.
Not really authentic Greek food, but what passes for it in Winnipeg. Lots of seating, always clean, exceptionally pleasant staff and market prices.

We decided to order take out this evening. A few friends had mentioned this restaurant as being the best Greek food in Winnipeg.
They were correct. We ordered Moussaka and Greek ribs. They both came with several sides and a generous salad.
The place is obviously popular. It looked like all booths were occupied and several people were arriving for pick up. Recommended.

The service was very poor today. My soup was too garlicky and too much flour so I never ate it. The server never offered me the other soup. I asked for greek potatoes which came out on my friends order. We asked for vinegar with extra napkins. After 10 minutes we asked the other server for the vinegar. Twenty minutes later our server brought the vinegar only after we already got one. Two servers took chairs from our table to bring to another table yet did not sanitize them after we had our purses/keys on them. Went to pay and the new machine didn`t work or our server didn`t know how to use it so I paid in cash. Most of the food was tasty but the chicken souvlaki was a bit dry.

We recently had lunch at Taverna Rodos. The food is consistently good there - the lemon rice soup was particularly good today. The decor has had an update, thanks to Covid. New screens have been installed between some of the tables and it provides a cozy private look - the screens go perfectly with the rest of the decor. I just really like the 'feel' of this restaurant. Keep those screens, even once Covid has been banished.

We went here in Feb. and the food is very good. I had the Moussaka which is excellent. The Greek salad and soup is also good. Another person had Grilled Salmon which she liked. Another had Spanakopita and chicken fingers. We all liked our food. We have been here and we plan to come back again.

Visited 3 times in the last year, always had a lovely meal. The portions are generous, food is tasty and to a good standard, prices are reasonable. Staff is always attentive but not intrusive.
Today we had the Souvlaki lunch meal, which comes with soup, pita, and salad+/- lemon potatoes. Plenty for lunch and really good flavours. Have tried the sandwiches in the past which were good too.
This place is always busy when I have been, so reservation recommended
If I lived closer I would be a regular.

We love this restaurant! Authentic, amazing Greek food! I can never get enough of this place! They are across the city for us,;or we would be here a LOT more. Their food literally NEVER disappoints. Stand outs are all the Greek items, especially Greek Style Ribs. The savory, lemony seasoning and fall off the bone tenderness will leave you craving til next time. Amazing Spanakopita too!The service is attentive, yet never in the way. Their wine selection is good. Nice, casual atmosphere, great for a date night or invite a group of friends. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who will listen! Go!

Very busy when we got there but got a table right away. Menu has a lot of options but my wife and I decided on Hot turkey with chicken noodle soup and FF and salad 1/2 & 1/2 . This is my new fave restaurant the food was incredible servings huge and prices were lower than i expected

Huge meals with some very unique flavors. Soups and salads are fantastic. Service is as good as it gets. Our first time there and we were blown away. Half the meals are now at home in take-out boxes because you get so much...especially their clubhouse sandwich. And the restaurant interior design is also top notch.

Ordered from Skip. and it was very good. The avgolemono soup is excellent and the Greek dishes that we tried were great. We had the Greek style ribs with chicken souvlaki and moussaka. I really like the lemon roasted potatoes that are included as a side.

Without question, Traverna Rodos is our go-to restaurant. The staff is pleasant and attentive and the food is delicious. No matter what we order, we are always happy. The portions are such that taking some home is always an occurrence. Dining-in or doing take-out are both great options.
