We were told by a well-travelled friend that this was the best wasabi in Canada. So, we went to see for ourselves. We loved it!

It was cold here yesterday, first time it had dropped under -15C in a while and the idea of the sashimi got some support from a dim memory of very warm sake on a cool winter day. On impulse, I pulled over, shoehorned into the...last tiny parking place behind the restaurant, and went in. I'm so glad I did. I worked through lunch and warmed up, cupping the small ceramic cylinder of sake, letting it soak through me. And I ate my favourites...miso soup, agadashi tofu and salmon sashimi...enjoying it all so much again. The mid-day waiter is a pro. Her service is attentive, straightforward and prompt. Minimal intrusion and maximum support and thoughtfulness. Another very good meal at Wasabi!More

Our second visit. Outstanding again Staff very good - very knowledgeable. If I wanted to be picky, the food service was a little slow. It was a great evening. The oysters were really fresh.

I ordered a few dishes as take out from Wasabi on Broadway. The tofu dish I received was undercooked- the batter was still raw! I have had this dish before at the Wasabi on Taylor and Broadway and know what it is supposed to taste...like. When I called to discuss with the manager she simply told me that's how the dish is made and instructed me to ask for it extra crispy next time. Passing off your undercooked dishes as the customer's fault for not understanding how your dishes are prepared is ridiculous. Will not be ordering from here again and I've been a long term customer with over 10 orders a year.More

My meal was fantastic, the most delicious sushi I have ever had, with shrimp and veggies. It was terrific! The atmosphere is very pleasant, staff are really friendly and helpful.

Sushi in Manitoba? Is that an oxymoron? Surprisingly the food here was very good. I had a sashimi combination with the usual fare, nothing exceptional or truly memorable. But it was fresh. And reasonably priced. They have a nice premium sake menu and we enjoyed...the junmai that we ordered. Service was very good. The decor is funky, an old renovated house. I would return here if I ever make it back to Winnipeg.More

Although this is a sushi place this review is not for the fish but for the steak. I'm not the greatest fish fan so I decided to go with the steak, one of my best decision ever ! Perfectly cooked, tender, one of the best...steak I ever had in a restaurant.More

I am a true sushi lover and have tried most around the city always to leave wondering why I was not at Wasabi's. They are hands down the city's best and the broadway location was my spot for many years before the Taylor location. Enjoyed...a great meal on the veranda last evening which at this time of year it is hard to find such a jewel with a screened in dining area. The presentation, creativity and flavors never disappoint. Our server was GREAT wish I could remember his name as he deserves a shout out. Some of my go to's include Tuna nachos crisp shell topped with tuna, avocado, jalapeno and topped with tobiko nice crunch with a pop of heat White dynamite roll wrapped with a thin radish vs nori Green spider roll wrapped with a cucumber crepe New style roll is our # 1 wrapped with soy sheet and finished with a flavor bomb!!More
