Lobster in Moncton

Lobster in Moncton doesn't get better. The lobster rolls were so good and the restaurant was willing and able to accommodate us wanting "Connecticut style with only butter". They were so friendly and accommodating to us placing a take out order when they were full in restaurant and placing people on a wait-list. Cute bar area and a lovely seated area. Highly recommend.

Great seafood restaurant

This place was recommended and we were hungry. The waitress was delightful. We ordered a bottle of French white wine which was reasonably priced and went great with our seafood. I had the Atlantic Catch -salmon, haddock, shrimp & scollops and my friend had the seafood casserole-lobster, shrimp & scollops in a cheese sauce- both were delicious. I also could not resist the creme brûlée. Great meal.

We had a dinner there. There were not a lot of people. Service was great. The food was great, beer was good and they had a representation of local breweries. We had fish cakes, lobster gratin, garlic bread and seafood linguine. Everything was very good. Will definitely recommend this place. They do not have their own parking, but there are several paid parkings around the area. Will recommend this place

Catch 22 Has Some Catching Up To Do!

We have come here over the years with customer's, and we have always had an excellent meal. Tonight (Tuesday) when we arrived for our reservation, we were told the restaurant was under new ownership, it had just reopened on Friday and the menu was different. FYI no mention of this on their website. The menu on their website is no longer current. The place was not packed as normal. Maybe 20% capacity. My business associate does not drink so they do not have any non-alcoholic beer options. I ordered a glass of red wine, it had been open too long so disappointing. We ordered appetizers and mains and two to three minutes after getting the appetizers, they delivered our mains. I ordered the Lobster Bisque, and I sent it back. It was tasteless with an acidic aftertaste. Not appetizing at all. Ordered the half Lobster, Scallops, shrimp and Risotto. The Vegetables were not seasoned, the Scallops and shrimp were cooked to perfection but lacked seasoning. The Lobster was overcooked, likely frozen and the drawn butter was cold. The Risotto had no flavor and was a lump over overcooked glue on the plate. When I got back to the hotel I ordered a pizza from Papa John's. My employee's meal was equally as tasteless and disappointing.

Horrible. We so missed the quality of food and the ambiance of the previous owners. It’s basically cutting corners and trying to stay high end…which is no longer. Escargot was covered in bag cheese. Lobster ravioli was ravioli with cheese -pieces of lobster were in garlic butter…. Had to buy bread Asked for Parmesan…. No longer freshly grated. Chowder was nice. Caesar salad ….the worst ever anywhere I’ve been. Mustard was the dominant ingredient. We sent the back. When we went to pay they charged us for the salad and waitress says if we want to challenge the cost we were to speak to owner. Customer service and loyalty is precious…. We’ve been there with original owners for over 15 years. Pete and Marlene were the greatest of and it’s sad that the new owner didn’t keep their standards … I will never return and will certainly refer our friends, colleagues, and tourism friends elsewhere.

We recommend the Catch 22 fisherman's platter!

We shared the fresh oysters and the Catch 22 fisherman's platter (1|2 lobster, shrimp, scallops, haddock & crab cakes). Everything was good, the chef seasonnings were on point, and we were especially impressed by the scallops. The lady serving us was so helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. It was a great dinner! (especially after 7 days of camping...)

Great food - service was slow

There is a huge menu here and all of the best items are highlighted for you. Stick with the recommended items as they are the best! We ordered the Lobster dinner, which wasn't recommended and it was below average. However, all of the items that were recommended were superb! The seafood platter, the garlic bread, the chowders were all top notch with quality ingredients and lots of seafood. The service was really slow, we think something went wrong with our orders because other tables were served well before us but it was worth the wait in the end because again, the food was amazing!

Brilliant meal

Absolutely brilliant meal! The fish was all cooked to perfection and the portions were perfect. We could switch to sides which suited us. Our server Jess was so helpful and attentive. I would highly recommend this place.

Delicious Meal with quick service

We ate at Catch 22 on Saturday, February 19th. We were unable to get reservations at a few other places and we were a little disappointed. In saying this, the evening worked out great and we were glad to have the opportunity to eat at Catch 22. We felt like it worked out for a reason. Our meals were absolutely delicious and we found the prices to be more than reasonable. We had the escargots and lobster gratin for appetizers served with garlic cheese bread. For mains we had the fisherman’s platter and the seafood casserole. All the food was perfect. Our server was prompt and friendly. She was helpful in helping us with menu options and she was attentive to our needs. We will definitely be back!

Pricey….Small Lobster

My husband and I went there for supper last night. The wait staff were very pleasant,big fish tank in the restaurant appeared to be empty. Atmosphere was okayish. My husband had the fish and chips which he said was good and reasonable at $18. I had the lobster dinner which was “market price”. $45!! Lobster was cooked nicely but was quite small…baked potato was way over cooked and served on a too small side plate with some veggies…..made it awkward to eat. We had creme brûlée and lava cake for dessert. Both were nice but the creme brûlée wasn’t done properly, the brûlée was very thin and didn’t have that crunch it should have. I’ve been waiting for lobster on the East Coast and it was a bit of a let down. I wouldn’t tell people this is the place for lobster.

Not so enjoyable on this Visit.

2 yrs ago on a stopover in Moncton we discovered this restaurant & really enjoyed everything about this place. This time disappointingly it was not the case. The server was great however my choice, the sea food platter was a bit of a shock especially considering this is a Seafood restaurant. The server apologetically offered to provide another choice-declined. She did subtract the item from our Bill.

Awesome Dinner

After a hectic morning flying out of Toronto, Catch-22 was comfort for the foodie soul! The Blue Pearl oysters were amazing, the seafood crepe was deliciously decadent in a marvelous sauce, and the seafood platter had the choice catches from the sea. .To top our dinner experience off our server, Jess, was a consumate professional with a great sense of humour that made our dining experience all the more memorable.

Friendly service, nice fresh greens in house salad. Crab cakes were mostly filler— very little crab flavor. Haddock with lobster sauce was ok. Servers were accommodating.

Very pleasant and welcoming staff and very busy little spot full of what seemed to be locals. But a lot was missing in the cuisine. Bouillabaisse broth thin and lacking in depth, muscles gritty, all our courses all perfectly cooked but needed a little more work on flavor. Great place to get together with friends for a meal if not foodies.

One of the best restaurants in the City

My wife and I, usually with up to 6 friends go there at least once a month. Parking is handy and staff are always welcoming on arrival. The menu has recently changed and one of my favorite items (usually ordered off menu) is now featured - Jambalia! Great seafood, good portions and reasonably priced and not noisy. Perfect.
