Normally when I have been there both the service and the food os always good. This time however not so good, our server seemed too busy to give us his attention. It's is normal practice when I eat there shortly after the food arrives we...might have the server ask how is anything and would you like more coffee. We did not heard from him until the end of the meal. My friend who had take me out for my birthday was paying had asked what was left on her GC. He advised us he would be right back however again we took second place as I watched him take more take orders. When he came back rather then advising what was on tbe card as she asked he just put through. We both had tbe cod cakes eggs benning which I have ordered many times but today not much flavor.More

my wife who is 72 asked a server who was cleaning a booth if we could sit there when she was done, the response was rude and disrespectful, She gruffly ordered my wife to go wait to be seated that it was reserved, my wife...approched her a second time about another empty booth and met an even angrier animated response, we left, wont be back, went down the rd to Peddlers creek and had a wonderful experience.More

My friends and I were here back in August on a cruise and decided to stop in for a few beers/small lunch. This place was great! The bartender Jaret was very polite and helpful! They have a wide range of beers on tap, as well...as a few brunch/happy hour specials that are worth the value! We had some mimosas, beers and also had the sweet thai chili wings and the spinach dip - everything was great! I hope to return to St. John one day and if I do, I will definitely be back here!More

What a great find. My colleagues and I were wandering Saint John deciding where to eat and randomly ended up here. Service was great, friendly and checked in regularly, food was outstanding. All three of us had different dishes and each were more than satisfied....Highly recommend dropping in here!More

I stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon looking for an Irish Pub meal & beer and was not disappointed. The food was above average for a pub & the draft beer was cold & tasty. The atmosphere was great & I really enjoyed the...music - traditional Irish mixed with Irish Rock. This place represents St. John well!More

We stopped here for lunch from our cruise ship. The pub is located just a couple blocks off the waterfront and was an easy walk from our ship. The pub has indoor and outdoor seating - we chose outdoor, and were seated right away -...it was a lovely day. Our waitress was Abbie and she was fantastic. We ordered the Ploughman's Board to share - and it was a LOT of food! Very good too! We also tried the fried pickles - very tasty! We also tried some of the drinks - the Celtic Knot, the Mickey Finn and the C&K Lady Aberdeen. Very nice. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service and food was excellent. Would definitely recommend.More

The best Whiskey Sour I have ever had! Our cruise was supposed to go to Bermuda but landed in St. John Canada due to weather. We stopped here for lunch and we were so impressed with the food and drinks! My husband loved the crab...cakes too. Food and service exceptional!! If you are here I’d highly recommend it!More

I stopped in with some colleagues for a late dinner this evening while attending a conference in Saint John; the hotel we were staying at recommended going here and am I ever glad they did. I couldn’t believe how busy it was for a Monday...at 8 o’clock. I thought by the looks of things we would be waiting for a seat but our waitress was in the middle of clearing a table when we walked in the door and greeted us immediately and got us in a nice booth by the window. We were informed the tap beer were on sale for $6 pints and the selection was plentiful, I tried two different pints before trying a house cocktail “old fearless” which was one of the best drinks I’ve had in a while. Once it was time to order we were advised it was a very busy night and had run out of fish and I was planning on ordering the fish and chips- our waitress (I feel awful I forget her name, but believe it was Melanie), informed us of the wing night special and also advised trying the weekly feature which was lasagna and it was fantastic. I also tried macaroni and cheese bites for the first time and wish I had ordered more. Overall great atmosphere, phenomenal food and exceptional service. I can see why we were told to check out this pub and I will be back my next trip to Saint John. Check them out!More

We went for a family reunion. The service was fair for a Tuesday night, the atmosphere was good music was a bit loud but otherwise nice. We were a party of 9 . We ordered drinks and our Mains once everyone arrived. I ordered the...fish and chips with regular fries. On arrival it looked fantastic, however when I cut into the fish parts were undercooked and nearly still raw. The fries were a big disappointment, as they had been overfried as well. Now I thought the side of coleslaw was going to be great, however they had added too much dill flavoring that overpowered it. Now I like tangy and or different variations of coleslaw, but this was just nasty.More

Not as Irish as hoped for, but still a great meal. The Shepherd's Pie was hot, healthy, and large, but would have liked a little more seasoning. The Reuben Sandwich was huge with lots of tender meat. The side of Rosemary Parmesan Fries were most...tasty, and not soggy. We shared a Chocolate Peanut Butter pie with ice cream for dessert. It was good but not much PB flavor with the sauce. Service was excellent and our waiter most knowledgeable and helpful.More

Our family of 7 had dinner at the Cask & Kettle on a Thursday night. The pub was not too busy so service was fine. The craft beers were a treat. The food, although plentiful, was a bit of a disappointment. The entrees were okay,...the plates were loaded with fries so the proteins seemed to be less generous. The food was not served hot, it was slightly more than warm. The fish was over-battered, in fact, it was hard to enjoy the fish as the batter was overwhelming. Our meal, with a generous tip, was $275. For that price, we expected a bit more in terms of food quality and freshness.More
