Not my typical cask experience

I am a frequent customer at cask and kettle in the KV location, tonight my friends and I decided to go grab a bite to eat, the greeting was terrible, my server never introduced himself as a starter but I believe his name was (Ty)...I over heard another staff mention that name, he had a beard, and was the only gentleman working. I ordered a steak special the food was phenomenal but the customer service was beyond terrible, he was by far the absolute worst service I have had in the restaurant industry from his presence, to his personality to his demeanor, and then when I tipped him what I thought he was worth he actually got pissed off, made a comment and walked away.More

One of the Best Bar/Restaurants in Town

Stopped in while on vacation in Canada. Sat at the bar, which holds about 8 people. Big high-top table behind the bar. About 12 tables in ad adjacent room. Thane was very helpful and very nice to talk with. They have about 17 beers and...ciders on tap, all Canadian. Right in the downtown area. The food was great. We had a burger and onion rings and the cod and chips. We would definitely visit again if we were in Saint John.More

Fantastic food, great atmosphere

Had the pleasure of visiting Cask and Kettle in Rothesay this afternoon while visiting my sisters. It was my first time at this location and was surprised to see a full house at lunch hour. Our waitress (I feel awful I forget her name), immediately...greeted us at the door and let us know she was going to clean a table off for our party of 4. While doing so, the other girl working approached and asked if we’d been taken care of yet which I really appreciated. I ordered the fish tacos and our waitress suggested substituting fries for their maple walnut salad— and am I ever glad I did! Hands down best salad I’ve ever had. Food was 10/10, service 10/10, overall exceptional experience. I will be sure to return my next visit to Rothesay. Thank you for the incredible lunch.More

Friends can gather and feel at home

My husband and I, meet up with some friends for the first time at the Rothesay location. Loved the vibe. Our waitress Crystal was attentive. She kept our drinks full. Cleaned our table right away. We ordered Wings, Ruben and deep fried Reese’s Pieces. (My...new favourite desert) Dave the guitarist was awesome. Everyone sang along. He took our requests. The washrooms were spotless. I appreciated the “whatever” washrooms. It was so nice to have a private area with a sink. It felt like home! We will definitely be back to have a ~SOCIAL~More

Great food

Did a trolley tour, then decided to stop for lunch on a friend's advice. What a good choice! Good food, big portions, good selection. Beers were good & they sold their glasses.

Phenomenal food and service. Highly recommended.

Battered cod taco was excellent *****. Fish was tender with a thin, light batter. The rosemary Parmesan fries were unique and properly cooked with soft center surrounded by crunchy crust, also ***** The ruben sandwich was phenomenal as well. I think the Guinness onions gave...the sandwich a signature taste! Also ***** Lastly the Moose light beer paired well with both sandwiches. Great selection btw. Ambiance with traditional Irish folk music mixed with more contemporary Irish artists such as U2 made for a great experience. Service was ***** also.More

Cask & Kettle Irish Gastropub is fantastic!

I had the cod and fries. It was a huge piece of cod and delicious!!! My husband had a CK burger. It was so delicious that he ate the whole thing! I was hoping for brewed tea, being a silly American. The waitress offered to...make me Cup of hot tea and pour it over ice! I thought that was an amazing gestures!!!More

Great visit!

Visited the Rothesay location: Excellent food. Really enjoyed the maple bacon walnut salad. Very personable service from our waitress Crystal. Great atmosphere overall. Will be back!

Good Fish & Chips

We had the fish and chips and a beer; both were good. The service was friendly and the environs pleasant. Price was reasonable. No complaints here.

Great spot for dinner

Busy spot in the heart of the City. Friendly staff, good service and excellent pub food. Live music too but this started too late for us. Highly recommended.

Sorry Was Not Impressed

We arrived on cruise ship and chose this restaurant from trip advisor. An Irish Pub with no corned beef. That means no ruebens. We were told this when ready to order. Waited 50 minutes for food. All just ok but I could make more negative...points. Was bothered by fruit flies during entire 2 hour time there. Wish we had chose another place to have lunch.More

A great time!

Such a fun place! We love Irish pubs and after a bit of googling this pub came up right away. We checked it out after arriving in Saint John within the hour and we were not disappointed! We did a flight and a bite as...it was Thursday night and they had a blueberry theme. Yum! A great selection on local brews and all the typical stuff that an Irish pub has with a delicious pour of Guinness and a great selection of whiskey. The food here was tied with my favorite in Saint Johns. That blueberry goat cheese that was part of the flights was the best I’ve ever had. We went back a few times and loved the beer cheese, burgers and chicken fingers. Eat and drink here and you will not be disappointed!More

Hearty, delicious breakfast

We discovered the Cask & Kettle for dinner one evening while in town 3 years ago and it was fine. This year we were looking for breakfast options and were happy to discover it's open for breakfast. We were extremely happy with the quality of...the food as well as the service and prompt preparation. I had a fish cake on the side with mine and it was tremendous! Definitely a great option for breakfast in the area, much moreso than the nearby hotel restaurants, both of which we've tried for breakfasts and found them only average. The Cask and Kettle is only a couple of blocks walk from both the Hilton and Delta and its breakfast are served just as quickly as at the hotels but with MUCH better quality food. Give them a try!More

We had an enjoyable time

We enjoyed our meal, the steak was delicious, the craft beer was great. Staff were great punctual and attentive. Celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary ❤

Yummy food!

My husband and I and our 10 year old loved the food here. The restaurant was quite busy but staff did a wonderful job. Our server was so attentive and brought two colouring pages for our son. Thank you to our tall male server with...glasses and a moustache. You were awesome! Eat here- you won't be disappointed!More
