We came here as part of a tour group's packaged dinner. Not all option and serving size might not be available on their general menu but I think some are.
To start I went with the poached salmon dinner which comes with a salad as appetizer. My salmon had some type of dill sauce on top and the rice appear to be flattened. Maybe they laid a plate on top of it in the kitchen!
The lobster dinner came with seafood or clam chowder and a bowl of steamed mussels. The lobster is about a pound or less if I had to guess.
The dessert was a chocolate layer cake, very thinly sliced.
Overall, happy with the food.

We waited close to 45 minutes for a table, for a meal that turned out to be very average. We both ordered one piece fish n chips - the batter was nice, the fish was tasteless & oily, the tarter was also tasteless, coleslaw was poor, frozen fries. Just glad we did not spend the money on a more expensive choice! It is a very open restaurant, was not impressed with some of the food handling practices I witnessed when waiting for our meal! Not a place I would go back to!

I had the bucket of steamed clams with a side salad and my wife had the salmon with a salad. The food was very good. My wife's salmon normally comes with vegetables and rice so she asked if she could substitute something for the rice and she was told that she could get a side salad instead if she wanted. She was never told that there would be a $2 upcharge for that.
The service was okay, a little slow. We sat on the deck to the right side, the side that has no lights.

The lobster roll you get is half the size advertised in the photo. Was just ok. Eat outside if you really want to go here. It was located across the street from the container village. The wait staff was nice.

Located directly across from the cruise terminal it is a great spot to enjoy a meal or a cold beer. In addition to the indoor restaurant there is a large patio. We enjoyed pints of beer ($6.09) and an order of Buffalo Shrimp ($14). Beer was cold and the shrimp delisious.

Hotel recommendation for this place, expectations were high, only to be deflated by overcooked seafood. We ordered the $75 combo plate with rice.
Lobster tail, was not your average lobster, more like a rock lockstep so small. Salmon was overcooked and terrible. What a way to ruin a perfect piece of salmon. Scallops were only thing that tasted good. But nothing was seasoned. Rice was flat, Hubby added s&p and butter to be able to eat it. Small dining area, run down with old seafaring decor. We didn’t complain, as they weren’t very busy and probably needed the income.

The staff here are incredibly nice. Welcoming, friendly, and kind. Our waitress was funny and very sweet. The coconut shrimp and the scallops were just sensational. Go for those two dishes alone. The chowder was good also. There was a seafood feast (sorry I can't quite remember the name of the dish) for 69.00. My husband got it. I'm not quite sure it's worth 69 dollars though. When it's served it's just not visually appealing. You eat with your eyes first. Plain white rice, plain white scallops, a relatively small piece of lobster, a few shrimp, and a piece of salmon. The dish needs some lemon, and it needs some color. I made the mistake of ordering the caesar salad. $12, and $19 with a piece of chicken. I asked the waitress if it was good. She said it was. She was wrong. I get my soup bowl size of lettuce, not salad. No lemon, no garlic, no anchovy dressing to be found. Maybe 5 pre-packaged croutons in the bowl. A piece of crunchy chicken breast on top. Maybe it's just me, but I think grilled chicken would work better. And the absolute worst thing was the imitation bacon bits. For real? For $19??? I find it hard to believe that a chef would allow that salad to leave his/her kitchen. All in all, it was good. But not better than that.

After a few mediocre to poor experiences, we hit up Steamers. It is located across from the new cargo-container entertainment district.
The scallops from Nova Scotia on the menu come wrapped in bacon and deep-fried. I asked if I could get the scallops without bacon and pan-seared. Waitress said no problem.
I received 6 perfectly cooked scallops accompanied with cocktail sauce. They were very good.
My wine was Canadian chardonnay. Oaky and vanilla. No complaints.
Steamers is one of the better Saint John restaurants. I would return.

Overall, I would have to give Steamers a 4 rating. We liked the Fish n Chips which were huge and very tasty. Onion rings were great, fries great, but he Clam chowder left a lot to be desired. Very thick and kind of fishy, compared to a clam taste. Not my favorite.

Stopped while in port on a cruise. Is close and within walking distance and had a variety of seafood including lobster rolls. Tried both the lobster roll and the fish and chips. The food was good and the restaurant setting was nautical.

Good finding in Saint John. The mussells, fish and chips and the lobster are very good. The sweet potato fries are the best I ever ate ! The corn on the cob is not the best so you may want to try a different side. You can dine on the patio or inside. The staff provided a quick and friendly service. I would recommend. Note that parking is on the street and requires a cellular to pay the meter online or cash change.

Fantastic experience! We literally just walked out and we want to go right back in. The kids split a lobster poutine and loved it. Seafood chowder was amazing. Even though the food was great, the staff were the real stars. Thanks for giving our daughter the "lobster hat" and the "tip-taps"! Delightful staff and delicious food!
