Went to big tide for an after party, the waiters seemed overwhelmed by the amount of people but still very friendly. Had their bean burger, it was generally disappointing. Dry and not very pleasant, had no vinaigrettes for a salad and their fries are not...vegan friendly. Only side really option was rice. I probably would never go back, unless it's for another after party. But I might just stick with drinks.More

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. We were in a bit of bind for time. My wife and I shared a flight of beer and a two piece fish and chips. They offer both the English Style, but I always prefer the slightly breaded variety if...given the choice. I can only rate the fish an 11 out of 10! Simply among the very best I've eaten in my life. The pieces were generous, so light and crispy on the outside, yet moist and flaky on the inside. Kudos to the chef! Their craft beer is equally excellent. Our server waitress was the hostess with the mostess, since we were in and out of there in record time. The atmosphere is very Cheers like, you have to go down a flight of stairs from the street to enter! A Gem of a place!More

Big tide has an amazing selection of food to eat and its always hard to decide what to order because everything looks so good! The food is always so delicious and the staff are beyond friendly and helpful.

We'd been here before while on a cruise and loved the food. This visit was even better. We ate here both days we were in Saint John. We highly recommend the deep fried pepperoni, pepperoni mac & cheese, maple/bacon/chile wrapped meatballs, chocolate cake, Dickens New...England style IPA and the Confederation Cream Ale. We had supper here. Service was fast and the servers were very friendly. Food came out quick. The bigger tide burger was delicious. Be sure to get the lattice fries. Also the craft beer was excellent. I had the pale ale and the cranberry cream...ale. Both were great. Will definitely be returningMore

We were in town for the day of the ship. We were headed back to the dock and walked by Bigtide. We stepped in and down to the pub style eaterie. We had fairly quick service. I had the kettle soup and my wife had...the fish and chips. We also asked for the popular local beer. Everything was good and plentiful. Prices were a bit high but consistent with prices in St John.More

Ended our day in port with lunch here before heading back to the ship. The food came out in a reasonable time frame. Food was average presentation and taste. Over priced for what you get though. Beers available were good in number and tasty so...that saved the rating here due to a higher than normal price for food. Service also saved the rating because it was fast and friendly. We stopped at Big Tide Brewing for beer tastings and snacks while in Saint John. They have a small selection of beers and large menu of food options. We tried their Saison , Hemp, Blonde and red ale. All werent bad but didnt find anything...outstanding. Food and service was good.More

We stopped in here after taking the ferry from Digby following a week in Nova Scotia. As we are from the States, I was carrying a bag with my passports for my family of 5. The food was good and the waitress was very nice...- try the pickle soup!! So good! But what makes this place special actually happened after we left. I forgot my bag in the restaurant and didn't realize it until we were at the US border. We were able to get across but I was in a full panic and called the restaurant several times. The woman I spoke with assured me that they would get the bag to me back in Massachusetts, but honestly, my New England skepticism told me not to hold my breath....but Chris and his team were true to their word. They Fed-exed me my bag on nothing more than a promise of payment. It arrived several days after I got home and I can't thank them enough. Give these people your business for sure! And try the pickle soup!!More

We went to the bar because we were not planning to spend a lot of time there. Service was excellent and we enjoyed the ambiance. Also were educated about the Fundy Fringe that we were not expecting. The menu was interesting, but we were going...to another restaurant. The entire staff was helpful with advice about the area.More
