Stopped in for some chicken parmigiana and a glass of wine. IBN is a favourite dinner spot any time I’m in Saint John. Among other things, the marinara sauce is the freshest I’ve ever found!

Visited this venue for dinner. Starters were OK, calamari somewhat oily. The major disappointment for the group was the pizza. They serve the pizza in a bowel, so the edge is good but everything else is sozzy...thus you eat your pizza with a knife and...fork, with a wet soaked crust. Maybe order something else if you don't like soggy pizza. Service was average.More
This is a great place—but it is packed. We made a reservation, but could only get the bar for seating. As it turns out, that was a lot of fun, watching the bar tenders to their work and chatting with them along the way. I...asked them to recommend a wine for us and they up-sold us a bit from the price range I mentioned, but it was ok since the Canadian dollars is devalued about 25 percent against the American, and the wine was a good choice after all. I had the lasagne, which came in a very hot ramekin, while my wife had a delicious Gorgonzola pizza. Our reservation was for 6:30 and the place was already full when we arrived, so a reservation would seem to be a must.More
We were playing with fire by showing up without a reservation on a Saturday night. We sat at the bar and were not disappointed. Both Alex and Jesse were highly entertaining conversationalists. Very professional. I am gluten free so they took extra care by informing...the cooks and making certain that the meal I ordered wasn't going to poison me. We will be back, and we will absolutely be sitting at the bar :)More
Booked a table for 6. Service was fair. Got our meal and it was good. The unfortunate part was that we were rushed out of the restaurant as they had a booking to close to our reservation. I entertain people all the time and will...need to reconsider dining here again. DisappointingMore
My wife and I were in Saint John, NB for 4 days and we had our best meal at Italian by Night. The service and food was second to none. Our host/waiter/bar tender Rob Mac was amazing. From the moment we sat down we knew...we were in for a great experience. BE SURE to make a reservation as they are busy.More
Wow! What a great meal! We booked in advance based on reviews and we weren't disappointed. Great Italian food with east coast flair with the fresh seafood in a lot of the dishes. We had the mussels to start, a truffle pizza and variety of...pastas in our group. All were delicious! I wish we had room for dessert because that menu also looked great. Service was great and the restaurant decor was inviting.More
My husband and I were trying to make reservations to this restaurant for over a week and everything was booked. We crossed our fingers, took a chance and got in on some bar seats around 8pm for dinner (it was a perfect time for us!)...and we were so glad that we went. We chatted with other customers for over two hours over dinner and a bottle of wine. The food was so delicious that we had to go back for a second time. The second time we got there at 4:45 and scored bar seats again. This time we chatted with the wonderful bartenders Rob and Jesse! They were fun to even watch behind the bar. They certainly know what they are doing (the sangrias looked delicious!). I would highly recommend the raviolis. The husband loved his lasagna! One of our favorite places in Saint John. Go hungry and grabbed a bottle of vino!More
Fantastic, food, service and server! We had Alasdair as our server and what a real asset he is to this restaurant. The food is extremely fresh and is beautifully displayed, portion sizes are also very good. Alasdair was so welcoming and attentive . He even...brought a special drink for us for our anniversary.More
We discovered Italian By night 3 years ago and were really happy to get back there this year. The food is extremely well done, the service us superlative, the wine well chosen, the desserts incredible and the ambience quite good. The little touches such as...the warm hand towels are a cut above the competition. This time we had the Lasagna and Penne Carbonara Capesante. both were flawless and so good!More
Attractive trendy restaurant with great food and friendly service. We were seated in the overflow room and even that was most appealing. Pastas and calamari were super, pizzas a bit less so. Highly recommended.
This restaurant has the warmth and culinary excellence of Italy, yet is also run with exactness and precision. The dishes have wonderful flavour and appearance, at reasonable prices. Elizabeth and her associates should be very proud of this establishment. We have been in 5 countries...in the past 8 months and this is recommended, as one of the best restaurants we have eaten in during that time.More
We booked a table for date night on the advice of friends and were surprised to be shown a table in the aisle and closed in: which is not what I expect from a restaurant supposed to be of top quality. After a complaint, we...were moved to a window table with a used and stained table cloth. The killer was when we got the bill there was a bottle of wine that we did not order nor drink. I usually don't review a bill and put it on my credit card. Waiter stated "must be from another table, I'll fix it" no apology and makes me think this may be a habitMore
8;30 pm reservation which I recommend having a week in advance for getting your preferred time! Jasmine was delightful and kept us smiling throughout- Salmon was delicious (my wife) and I was filled up by calamari followed by the best mussels with tomato broth. Chianti...rounded out a perfect date night! ThanksMore
We were here for a corporate dinner of colleagues from Alberta and Ontario. We were embarrassed to have recommended this place to them. The muscles were very fishy smelling and many were closed and therefore inedible. The 5 scallops with fettuccine were breaded and fried…way...WAY TOO LONG-basically rubber. Bruschetta was bland and served on completely burnt toast. To make matters even more awkward I was still chewing when the the wait staff grabs my plate and moves onto the next course. Like you are so busy that you are not allowed to linger over their overpriced wine? After the $500+ bill for 4 people, IBN has the audacity to “offer 25 or 30% tip! I liked this place when it was first open but I feel like the quality is going downhill! Come on, do better!!More
