We visited the restaurant with my husband unplanned, but definitely we did not go from here disappointed. From the first step we were welcome to the place and seated promptly. Food was just amazing, especially hummus and falafel. Bryan took a good care about us....We took all his recommendations and it worked well for us. Service was perfect. And now we can say that Taste of Egypt is one of our favorite restaurant in Saint John.More
Our food was not good at all. My lamb was tasty however the potatoes were burned to a crisp and I choked on the salad. My wife's tajine was not hot and tasteless. We told the waitress about it. Sadly Paula was not there or...else I would have spoken with her. We will not be returning.More
We had a family evening meal at this restaurant. Parking is great and free. There was one server for the entire restaurant. Food was slow and the poor server was run off their feet.
My husband and I decided we wanted to go out for lunch today, and we wanted something different. I suggested we go to Taste of Egypt, because we had been thinking of going there and just hadn’t got around to it. We took our 3 kids (8,9,10 in age) to lunch here today for their 1st time, and I think they have found their new favourite restaurant in Saint John. There was a great selection of items on the Kids Menu, which was nice to see....Our kids chose (without prompting) a couple of the Chicken Shawarma and a Beef Kofta Kebab, and some juice. Us parents ordered up a Falafel Burger and Chicken Shawarma with Tabouli Salad. The kids each received a large (in our opinion) glass of juice, a great portion of healthy, delicious (according to them) food, and then got served up a really cool build-your-own ice cream sundae, and a cool little toy each as a takeaway. They were thoroughly impressed, as were we by the offering and the value received. Our meals were great as well, complete with a Turkish coffee that was spot on. Great meal selections, friendly service, tasty healthy food for the whole family, and great value. Definitely give this restaurant consideration the next time you're seeking a meal when out with the kids. We know we'll certainly be back!More

I'm amazed with the how good the food is on this restaurant! I first visited it with a friend after work. I ordered lamb chops with yellow rice and salad. I ordered double the rice and salad because they served plenty of meat. I also...ordered Egyptian tea. It was all served in decorative plates and cups. The food was awesome. We happened to try this restaurant on Jan. 17 for supper. We told our waitress we were on a tight schedule due to plans at 8pm. She checked with the chef and they said they were busy but could accommodate us. The food was awesome!...We had the Key of Life and Chicken Shawarma. It was fresh, hot and delicious. We were driving through Saint John at lunch time and luckily discovered this GREAT little restaurant. delightful staff and FABULOUS lunch buffet. All the good tastes were there and available at the reasonable price. Truly, a happy little discover for us, right in the downtown...core.More

Our first time here. I went with the Tandoori Chicken Kebob and Constant Companion chose the Shrimp Kebob. We both had Greek potatoes on the side. Wonderful! The check was sooo tender! We very much enjoyed the Egyptian music and were relieved that there was...no TV in sight.More
