My husband chose your establishment as a surprise to me to celebrate my special birthday. As in the past, it was a wonderful meal with very nice ambiance. Compared to some restaurants I have been in, it is not noisy at all. Service by Kyle was very good. I had the duck confit and m husband had the lamb. The smelt I shared was very good - my first time trying this food. I wasn't sure what to have for dessert and Kyle suggested a passion flavoured sorbet, which was delicious. We walked out very happy having enjoyed the evening. Thank you.

On a recent visit it was hard to juggle getting to all the fine restaurants so I managed a lunch visit here. Spectacular! I was warm and cozy inside watching the cold wet drizzle through their large windows. Service was excellent. Daily soup was out of this world. I think it was a tomato with crunchy chick peas and a basil oilI served with a salted soft buttery dinner roll. I remember it being absolutely delicious! The mushrooms on toasted sourdough are my new favourite dish. I have tried to recreate at home with partial success. Many creative desserts but the chocolate bête noir was scrumptious. I lucked out getting a seat without a reservation but it was lunch time, definitely reserve for dinner. Can’t wait for my next visit to Saint John.

Located near the Market Square in St. John, NB. Very nice restaurant, not overly crowded with too many tables and has pleasant wait staff. We called ahead for a reservation and were told they were full but could fit us in if we came right away. We were one of three tables the entire time we were there. So not sure what that was about. The menu isn’t huge but there are lots of options to try. We split the ricotta and tomatoes to start. Served with 4 good sized toasts and dressed with some fresh herbs. This was a perfect app for two to share. Fresh and tasty. My husband had a burger, cooked to order with fries. He raved about the burger. I had the scallops linguine with cherry tomatoes, fennel and micro greens. Scallops cooked perfectly…the pasta could have used just a little less salt but the meal was excellent. We both had a craft beer…enjoyed each of them. Would definitely recommend this place.

This is a fantastic restaurant, which never disappoints. The food is fresh, delicious and well prepared. Scallops and oysters are my favourite dishes, no matter how they are prepared. Their burger us spectacular as well. Staff our friendly, it is a great atmosphere.

On a cruise ship stop at St John, we visited ECB. The bistro was emphatically recommended by a local as a great place for lunch or dinner. On the way back from the City Market we stopped by and had a wonderful lunch. It is readily apparent that great care and love are put into every dish. We each had an ECB burger; it was the best burger I have had in a long time. It was prepared as ordered and dressed to perfection. The desserts were outstanding my wife had the homemade cheesecake and I enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding.

Each dish we had was flavourful, beautifully plated and just a bit different from the usual fare. Mushroom toast was addictive, I could have eaten a lot more!. The grilled salmon was perfectly cooked and served on a bed of healthy yet tasty variety of beans and edamame. Very filling! The dinner feature was half a hen (very generous portion) served on a bed of barley, rice and other goodies. The cream sauce was delicious. It was a dining adventure of flavour, textures and presentation. Service was excellent.

A beautiful lunch when we were in port in Saint John, New Brunswick! We researched our restaurant’s before we got to port and this one really stood out! After a lot of “not fresh” food o the ship we were very excited to see such a great menu and again we were treated so beautifully! They made me a special non alcoholic cocktail that was lovely! We had their house salad to share and 2 of the best veggie burgers we have had in forever! For a dessert we treated ourselves to a dessert special the pecan pie! Our waitress even recommended us places to go in town for dinner that eve which was so thoughtful and again we will have this restaurant on our list to recommend to anyone travelling to Saint John ❤️❤️❤️

What a delightful restaurant. Our wait person, Erin, was personable and very helpful. The food - Oh Oh Oh! the ECB salad was delectable and my scallops and cavatelli delectable. My husband had the salmon which rivals the best ever. Make a reservation here if you are in St. John. Highly recommend!

We were on a cruise ship and stopped in for lunch and just had a great experience. City market was packed so we walked down King St. and easily found this place. As I’m from Florida and my husband the Northwest we are snobbish about seafood but the Fish and Chips did not disappoint! The warm mushroom soup was so tasty. We met another lady from Dunedin, Florida and she was also gushing about the food!

Just finished our second ECB take-out meal since the COVID quarantine started and it was just as fabulous as the first! We normally don't do takeout but these aren't normal times, and this is not your normal take-out meal. Both times it was like a gourmet surprise pack and everything very well put together with pride. The sourdough bread was superb as well. Very well done! We love you guys!

In spite of good reviews, we were still surprised how good this place was, especially the service. We shared the strawberry salad - the waiter offered to split it in the kitchen! Not many places will do that. Very good lamb and sticky toffee pudding to share for dessert.

Nice pub grub and welcoming atmosphere. We were at 8pm and was a little loud. Great service and decent food. We both had fish and chips and a local beer. Beer was good. FnC was ok. They messed up our order but fixed it quickly. Was happy with the experience overall.

So let’s start with why we chose East Coast bistro, we were looking for a restaurant with an extensive drink menu to try out a Paloma which was one of many cocktails they had on their drink menu. Upon entering the restaurant they insisted on following all Covid rules including masks and hand sanitizer. Tables are appropriately spaced the place just smells clean. They have a smaller lunch menu which had enough choice for us. My wife had their bistro burger and I had the clubhouse salad. Both were excellent. Drinks were great and the service was first rate. We would certainly go back for another visit.

Wow, smoked salmon appetizer. Burger great and halibut with pasta shells in broth with corn and peas was lovely. Apple pie dessert also yum!
