Super fun place full of character and ambience. Crazy Alice in Wonderland themed decorations. Restaurant is in an old house so there are lots of different rooms with different themes - we ate in the tea room upstairs - with teacups and saucers and teapots everywhere! Food was good too! Kids Mac n cheese was not so good but the brocolli and cheese soup was delicious.

Our friend had made reservations for this evening at le Moque-Tortue and it was my husband’s and my first visit. What a true gem this little restaurant is! From the warm greeting upon arrival to the walls laden with games, one feels they are in a special place. The furniture is unique and the ambiance has a great vibe. And the food! I had the shrimp and scallop flatbread with Caesar salad and it was out of this world. The flavours were a perfect blend of richness and smooth. We consider ourselves truly fortunate to have had Allen as our server. He was interesting, engaging, fun, professional… I could go on but you get the picture: he gets the job done expertly, but takes time to get to know his customers. Thanks, Allen! We will be returning here again and again.

Delicious find on our way through Shediac- so good that we returned on our way back home. Beautiful menu with so many great choices, good service and great ambience. We especially appreciated the dog-friendly patio so that we could enjoy our meal while on the road with our pup.

I called on September 4th to make a reservation for 4 people for the evening of Saturday September 28th. When calling I explained that we would be celebrating my wifes 30th birthday and that our plans for the evening was to spend our time there. I specifically asked for the room at the top of the stairs, first one in the right. We were told absolutely and that they were looking forward to having us. I of course confirmed my reservation the day before when they sent the reminder text message. When we get there I mention our name and mention that we reserved the room upstairs and then the nightmare begins. We overhear that our room has been given to a walk in group of 6 people. She then says "we'll I can get you a table for 2 by the window" What???? Our reservation is for 4 and we gave you 24 days notice! Of course I try to explain this but the waitress just starts talking over me and about how we can't reserve rooms unless we pay extra... what??? I can't even get a word in. So here's this resturants logic: call and ask for a room with 24 days notice = no room and/or you need to pay, walk in without a reservation with a group of 6 = get put in a private room. Were so disappointed and this policy is absolutely ludicrous and unacceptable. Your nickle and dimming philosophy is a guaranteed way to alienate your repeat customers. What kind of resturant says yes to a group of 6 walk ins without a reservation on a Saturday night over their commitment to a reservation made over 24 days ago? Shame on me for trusting you guys with my favorite persons thirtieth birthday! To think I would of thought of you guys and trusted that this would be a good spot for anything makes me feel so stupid. Here's my advice: Drop your pathetic room reservation fee. If someone calls you and explains their desire to have a special night with you and wants to reserve a room, make it happen! Especially when you confirm that. If you want to be the place that prioritizes walk ins on a Saturday night instead of reservations just put in a drive through so your true collors are obvious. To make sure I'm clear: I feel certain my request was not only written down in their system but blatantly disregarded the night of. This wasn't a screw up or accident, this was a choice! This place made a choice to screw our special nights plans so they could make a few extra bucks from a walk in and figured it would fly. Don't make the mistake I did.

Service was very poor, we waited to be seated for 10 min without anyone paying attention to us, once seated the server didn’t ask us if we were ready to order or not , he stood there waiting . My husband ordered a beer first thing and once the meal serve he had to ask again for it. The food was good but unfortunately wouldn’t go back , if i pay that price for a plate i want to be treated as a restaurant not a take out

We ordered the real breakfast and the food was just Ok and very overpriced for what it was. The toast had no butter, the sausage was bland and the potatoes were undercooked. We waited 15 min to bring the bill and pay. The staff were nice and atmosphere was nice but will not return.

Food & waitress great. Manager terrible. The base of my mocktail glass literally fell off dumping 90% of my drink on my lap & into my shoes. I cleaned up what I could with my napkin & after we flagged down the manager he scraped the ice cubes off the table onto the patio & picked up the pieces of glass. He eventually brought a damp cloth that he set on the table. No clean napkin, no free drink, and worst of all no apology. While paying the bill I commented on his lack of empathy; he stated he was focused on cleaning up - which I did !!!

This restaurant is an old two story home and each room houses a huge collection of oddities everywhere to keep your senses busy. The ambiance is amazing. They have a wonderful outdoor patio. Service was excellent and timely. Even though quite busy they were able to accommodate us and our service dog.  The food was exceptional and the serving sizes were above average. The Hummus platter was amazing. The food was nice and hot, unlike the luke warm food that one normally gets served nowadays. The Lobster Quesadillas was a full platter of food with a generous amount of lobster meat. The Chicken Fricot made in-house with homemade dumplings was sooo good.  The prices are surprisingly reasonable for the  food quality and proportions. This is worthy of many repeat visits for us!

Such a quirky, unique and fun place to visit. You will be entertained with all the teacups, clocks, games etc… We had the lobster quesadilla (would have preferred a smaller tortilla size with the same amount of lobster filling, instead of just eating a lot of bread with not enough filling spread out), red pepper soup (not worth the price we paid, would not order again). We would try again if we were in the area.

Second time I have been there - Seafood chowder was lukewarm, sent back and warmed up in the microwave. Yes the bowl was really hot from the microwave. It consisted of scraps of minature seafood mush which was unidentifiable. The lobster wrap was bland and the texture very strange. The only reason for a 2 is because the games were fun.

This restaurant was so much fun as it had the “Alice in Wonderland” theme and the restaurant / bistro also had the second biggest (as we were informed by the owner of the establishment) amount of board games that my table has ever seen, all the games were stacked up on shelves for everyone to see and if they want to have a game with friends or family for a very small fee. The food served for our lunch was totally delicious, each item on the menu had tge Alice in Wonderland title theme, and each dish was presented in that fun themed way. Also what would be found in this Bistro was clocks of every kind some actually working and some not but so interesting to look at, and then there were knick knacks and mirrors. We truly had a fun time and we would all come back to Moque-Tortue again for another meal and adventure!

Booked a reservation for 5 pm (outdoor seating as that was all that was available) as I had company from out of province and had been telling her how great this place was. Due to rain off and on during the day the outside seating was closed (wasn’t raining at the time we arrived). I told the girl who greeted us that we had a reservation. She checked her tablet and informed me that my reservation was for outside seating and that wasn’t open. She then asked me i a condescending manner if I had read the notice on the reservation site stating that indoor and outdoor reservations were not interchangeable. I told her I was aware (I’m not stupid) as she waved her tablet in my face, but was hoping they would be able to accommodate us. She told us that she “was going to call us but didn’t” to cancel and that she just gave the last available table to a walk-in! I would think that if you had patio reservations that could not be fulfilled you would not be giving your ‘last table’ to a walk-in but would have accommodated someone who had a reservation. And if you did, I wouldn’t be telling people that! We had travelled 30 minutes specifically to go to dinner there and it was a disappointment to my company and myself. I have eaten there in the past but will not be returning. The food is great but a dining experience includes not only food but service and the way people are treated. Nobody will be competing with me for a table in the future.

This is a really unique restaurant with a fun atmosphere, cool decor, and delicious food. We had the Acadian meat pie and the lobster soup and both were delicious. The hostess was especially wonderful - great hospitality!

We booked a reservation for 7:30 and luckily got to sit at 7pm. We waited 20 minutes for drinks so we put in our order at the same time. Got our apps not too long after. The mussels had so much sand in them we almost broke our teeth trying to eat them. We finished our apps and waited another 30mins for someone to clear the table so we could eat our meals. We were also sat in chairs that are meant to have cushions so we spent most of the night shifting uncomfortably and pulling our dresses out of the holes. Besides the sandy mussels, slow service and terribly uncomfortable chairs the music was nice and the atmosphere was welcoming.

This was a family of five for dinner. The service was very good. It was efficient and very attentive. The drinks and appetizers were ordered and they arrived very quickly. The mains were all very nice. The chowder and nachos were particularly well received. The French onion soup could have had a little more soup and a little less bread and the accompanying side salads need a better dressing. But aside from those minor notations it was a very good experience. The desserts were very generous to boot. I would return again to be sure.
