Once again don’t judge a book by its cover. Food and ambiance top shelf and reasonable prices. Not as good as Zachary,s but reasonable

Cutest cafe, they have 2 patios and indoor seating. A variety of local books chocolate and other goods. Coffee supplies like Chemex and pour overs. Very well priced. George Town bagels, YUM! A large drink menu and they serve alcohol if you are so inclined....They had a sign indicated live music! A nice stop after hiking the North Head Trail on SH!More
This is a pleasant local cafe at the Battery. They have a small patio outdoors plus seating inside too. The coffee is great, and there is a nice selection of decadent treats. Stock up on your calories before making the trek up to Signal Hill!...Note: It is on a pretty busy intersection, with only a bit of street parking.More
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! There is a more parking not far, we have a map on our contact page. https://www.batterycafe.ca/contact-us.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
We had read about this place before we got there and had breakfast there one of the mornings we were in town. We each got the breakfast sandwich and they were really tasty, although the bagels were a little harder than I am used to....The coffee was delicious. The service was great. We sat on the little patio outside and overlooked the water which was a great view to have with breakfast!More
THanks, glad you enjoyed it, and sorry for the hard bagel. They are Montreal style, baked locally, smaller then some but usually delicious. .
What a super cute spot and the staff and locals are so friendly! The lattes are excellent and the red pepper bisque !! Amazing!!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
This place was very unique and had a great spot overlooking the harbour. We had great food and drinks for lunch. The staff was very kind and helpful on a few occasions.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
We stayed at a hotel close to this cute little cafe for the weekend and we walked down to get our morning coffee and ordered the bagels, THEY ARE SO GOOD. The coffee/drinks were perfectly crafted and the other foods looked great too. We had...to go back again the next day for their bagels....DELICIOUS. A must try of you are in town, super friendly staff and a cute patio to eat your food on!More
Thanks, Glad you enjoyed it!!
Here's where to go if you want the real deal: proper baristas and a coffee lover's coffee. Will definitely be back on my next visit to St. John's!
Thanks, Glad you enjoyed it!!
After a long walk down from Signal Hill, an excellent tuna melt with crispy celery was just what I needed.
Thanks, so glad you enjoyed it!
I come here frequently and I've never been disappointed. Recently I've been hooked on the Gluten Free Walnut Brownie. It is honestly life changing!! Such a treat. It's super cozy inside, or you can stay outside and use their walk up window. I highly recommend...checking it out!More
I had a cappuccino which was excellent, however I also ordered a salmon bagel with capers, pickled onions, etc. I was disappointed by how small the bagel was. It was literally the smallest bagel I’ve ever seen, with proportionately small portions of salmon on it....It cost $12 (before tax + tip) and I left feeling hungry and taken advantage of.More
Hi Geocore, I am sorry that you had a negative experience. The bagels come from a local bakery called Georgetown. They are slightly smaller than normal however locally made. I hope you decide to come back and a free coffee on us. Best, Mary Beth
Love this place, the people, the food and atmosphere. Detour coffee makes the best lattes and the people who serve them are fantastic! The baked food is devine - try the carrot cake or banana bread - you won't be disappointed! Also, the breakfast kicker...wrap with sour cream on the side is one of my favorites.More
Thanks for the review Cheryl! I also love the Detour coffee, they do such great roasts.
Really enjoyed the coffee. Staff was great. I’m a big scone fan and of all the cafes I have visited in St. John’s this one has the best.
Having this cafe in my neighbourhood makes a great place to live even better. I love their quiche and my spouse dies for their espresso. They also serve locally made bagels that are pretty out of this world. Great spot to grab a coffee after...you've wandered Signal Hill or the Battery, but equally as great to spend a few hours sipping beverages and working. They also have a seasonal to-go window complete with dog treats - which both my dogs sure appreciate.More
