Had lunch. Good service. Bean soup with greens and tomato very tasty. Chipotle mayo sandwich good though a bit heavy on the bread. Great spot

I went here for lunch as it was a short 600 meters from the Sheraton Newfoundland Hotel. Great food! The chef is really good, the service was prompt and courteous, and the prices were far lower than what I would have expected for the quality.
This restaurant was just a block over from our B&B. Our server was pleasant and efficient . Even better the food was delicious! If you want to get away from busy and bustling Water St., this is an excellent way to go. Highly recommended. Monique
A lunch place. We checked the website which stated that they open at 8 am. Not until 11 and then only serving lunch.
We had a very enjoyable lunch at the Hungry Hearts Cafe today. Excellent, friendly service and a delicious burrito bowl.
Excellent service and a wonderful meal. I had the shrimp linguine and I highly recommend it. The chocolate cake was delicious also.
a little pricey. Small portions but incredible tasty food and nice bright locale. Friendly staff. I'd go back.
Have eaten here on a number of occasions, usually for lunch with colleagues or friends. The food is always delicious and well prepared. The selection varies and is always freshly prepared. Desserts are also excellent especially the sticky toffee pudding. The price is also reasonable...and the service very good. Will continue to enjoy the delicious offerings of the Hungry Heart Cafe.More
Besides serving a wonderful selection of great and tasty food, Hungry Heart is run by an incredible not-for-profit organization working in the community. You can leave feeling satisfied on every level.
The establishment is affiliated with Stella's Circle, a social outreach organization located across the street. Many of the wait staff, and kitchen workers came through Stella's. So by eating here, not only do you get a delicious meal, you are helping others get back on...their feet. We were really glad the proprietor of our B&B suggested the place, as it is not somewhere you'd walk by as yo looked for tourist stops. It is well worth looking for.More
clean and friendly, surroundings were comfortable and quiet. service was efficient and helpful. what more can i say.
What a great little find. When traveling I love to try as many restaurants as I can fit it. After having lunch at the Hungry Heart Cafe on my first day in St. John’s..it was hard to go elsewhere. What a well prepared healthy lunch...of cod and rice with shiitake mushrooms and fresh Lima beans. Also the brisket tacos.. so delicious. What really made me happy was meeting Pam, our server.. what a sweetheart. She was so informative as well as taking great care of us. If you are in St. John’s, I highly recommend going.. tell Pam Mary and Mark set you!More
We had a business function catered and delivered. Everything was delicious and presented very nicely. The delivery was on time. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend.
We went to Hungry Heart Cafe for breakfast still visiting St John’s. Both our breakfast meals where excellent, tasty and different from most breakfast menus. The savoury oatmeal was fantastic. The staff are very friendly and service excellent. Well worth a visit.
Had a lovely breakfast here. I had coffee to start and the ham and leek tart. The tart also had gruyere cheese and it came out freshly prepared. The meal was accompanied with garden salad and potatoes. I thought it was strange to eat salad...at 8am, but it was actually delicious and I appreciated the freshness it added to the plate. The potatoes were perfectly seasoned and fresh! I definitely want to return here for lunch and partake in their dessert selection as well! The service was friendly and the space inviting and peaceful which was appreciated in the early am. I would definitely recommend a visit.More
