I had heard such good things and wanted to love it. Service was great. I did love the bread, side salad, house red wine and the tiramisu. The veal parmigiana could have been really good; great flavors, generous portion but sadly overcooked and leathery veal...rather than tender and moist. My husband enjoyed his ceasar salad and risotto. People dining across from us loved the lamb, lasagna, and spaghetti and meatballs so I suspect that the veal was not typical. I would go back and just order something different.More

Me and my husband decided we wanted to try this place for lunch yesterday (Saturday). It was hard to find parking because they only have a few dedicated spots for the restaurant. This was not a big deal for us! We circled around a few...times and waited for something to come available. When we finally found a parking spot and walked into the restaurant we were greeted by a staff member who informed us that they would not be serving lunch and were closing early at 3:00pm. There website and Facebook page indicates they serve lunch until 3:30 and it was only 2:40 when we arrived. We asked why they were closing early and her response was they had a really busy week and the chef really wanted to catch up on prep work. I understand this, but that is not how you operate a business. There are business hours for a reason and I would not turn away paying customers 45 minutes before scheduled closing. I was excited to try this place as the pictures looked delicious, but I will not be returning if they don’t want my business.More

Food was superb, service top-notch, and prices reasonable. This was my first time at this restaurant and I was not disappointed. Will definitely be back.

We visited for lunch and the service was excellent. We had the Caesar to start and it was very fresh and the croutons were homemade and really tasty. I had the chicken mushroom Marsala sandwich and my husband had the chicken Parmesan sandwich and both...were amazing. Super fresh ciabatta buns and chicken was tender with lots of flavour. Really nice place for a meal in St. John’s .More

My sister and I wanted a change from the traditional pub-style food found around Water and George Streets. So, we headed in another direction and had dinner at Bellissimo. Both of us really enjoyed our meals - she had the spaghetti and meatballs (although it...has a fancier name) and I had the Manicotti. We thought both were delicious. I had a Chianti (okay several) with my meal and she stuck to her new favourite beer, Iceberg. For dessert, I had the zabaglione. I have travelled in Italy extensively and the food here is just as good as what I have had there! I highly recommend it.More

My sister and I have been on the search for a nice Italian restaurant and we found it! We enjoyed a delicious meal while sitting outside on a beautiful Summer day. We chose the combo of Appetizers because it was our first time there and...we wanted to sample as many things as possible. All the food we sampled was delicious, especially the deluxe bruschetta! Our waitress was very friendly and made excellent recommendations from the menu. We are definitely returning to try more dishes from the menu in the future.More

The meals were disappointing especially the featured pasta. They lacked ingredients and rich flavours to give more taste to the pasta e.g milk for creaminess or fresh herbs. The waitress did not suggest any cracked pepper or real parmesan. Moreover, the portions are not enough...to satisfy an individual. We were still hungry after we left. The menu should definitely be reviewed again to reach the European standard.More

This is a cosy small restaurant near Signal hill. We went there fir Sunday breakfast. Service was pleasant. My husband ordered poached eggs with smoke salmon and spinach, was very tasty. I had fried egg, bacon touton sandwich. It was also good and tasty. Bacon...was more like British type than American thin sliced. Since we were not keen on hash browns we asked a substitute and we got fruits instead, perfect 😊More

Two of us, Saturday night dinner. I’ve been meaning to try Bellissimo for sometime now but was hesitant as I’ve experienced a lot of Italian restaurants in the city that were anything but. Quaint place, about a dozen tables located in the Quidi Vidi Lake...area. Warmly greeted by a young man at the front door and seated by a window in the middle of the restaurant. Started out with a glass of wine for her and a Perroni beer for me. We weren’t crazy about the wine she picked and they were happy to substitute another wine that was fine. We ordered stuffed pasta with cheese in a rose sauce for her and a spaghetti carbonara with bacon and tomato for me. Both were incredible, I couldn’t believe how good my dish was, everything was perfectly balanced and flavourful. Pasta was cooked just right. Finished dinner by sharing a homemade cannoli. Perfect ending to our meal. If you’re looking for a great Italian restaurant in the heart of the city, this is it. Go there, you’ll love it!More

After many pub type meals in our travels we wanted something different. After getting ratings and reading reviews we went to Bellissimo and we’re very glad we did! This is a very quaint, out of the way bistro that serves wonderful food. My wife had...the lasagna and I had the risotto/veal special. Both were amazing! The chef (& owner) prepares everything out front so you can watch your meal being prepared. If we’re back in St John’s we will definitely eat here again.More

Came with a big group and we were glad they were able to accommodate us. A few of us got the pasta and salad lunch combo, beautiful presentation and great tastes. A little let down because one person got the veal sandwich and I was...jealous from the start. I knew I had to come back and try it for myself. Came back on the Sunday and found out it was only the brunch menu that day. May have been bummed out at the start but I was in for a surprise. The skillet was fantastic. My experience here was nothing short of a 5 star review. Atmosphere was casual and the staff were so friendly. If you happen to stop by say hello to my friend joe. Love the spirit and character of this man. I’ll definitely be back when I visit again.More
