The food was great, as it usually is with this style of restaurant. The kitchen staff was working very hard to keep up with dine in and take out orders. This location also had a male server (long hair on one side and shaved on the other) and he was working like a champ. The service for us was personally a bit slow. I found the manager was concerned with fulfilling to go orders and told the kitchen staff someone was waiting "several minutes" meanwhile my table waited over half an hour. I would definitely recommend if you don't have time constraints because the food is wonderful and the staff is friendly.

OK hands-down this place has the best pizza next to Italy. I’ve been to Italy and their pizzas taste the exact same. A true treasure. Everyone has got to eat here. Save yourself thousands you won’t have to go to Italy to experience awesome pizza you have it right here.

Found our way to this restaurant for lunch after a morning of shopping. The lunch special was pizza plus salad. My husband had the Sicilian and I had the Americano and both were excellent. The sauce was homemade and the crust was thin and of course wood oven cooked. So delicious! The Caesar salad had real bacon bits and no croutons (which is fine) and a garlicky dressing. Definitely a place for a change from seafood if you’re looking for that!

This restaurant has nice character and service. However, the food does not have a lot of character, it tends to be a bit bland. We had garlic foccacia as a group starter. It was not what you think when you think "foccacia". They said it was their take on it, but I think their take might have missed the mark. It was like pizza crust. The spaghetti and carbonara was a similar miss. The cook needs to revisit how to make some Italian dishes. The cute thing they did was give our young son a ball of dough to make into a pizza shape. They then put sauce on it and baked it for him. It kept him occupied for quite a while.

We went here based on comments regards to best wood fired pizza and I can only say perhaps those people haven’t had wood fired pizza before. While the pizza is good it is definitely not the best we’ve had. Very little , if any, char on the crust and the sauce definitely did not taste like san marzano tomatoes. Don’t get me wrong the pizza was good just not the best we’ve ever had. We also ordered the lasagna to share and I’d have to say I wouldn’t order it again. We had a great table, service was decent and the place was packed.

This pizzeria has a great atmosphere and even better food. We ordered a margherita pizza and arancini, and both were fantastic, the best pizza I’ve had in a very long time. The bottom crust was flat yet tender and the edges were fluffy yet crispy. A genuine dining highlight during my visit.

My husband and I both ordered the Aglio Olio with added sausage. I have ordered this same dish (minus the homemade sausage) at other Italian restaurants but this is by far the best that I have ever had and this is a favorite dish of mine. You have to be prepared for a little bit of heat but it’s just a really nice amount of spice. We also noticed that all of the staff seemed to be really happy to work there, even on a summer Saturday night. That speaks of really good management! It’s a wonderful atmosphere with delicious food!

Stopped for late lunch (after 3 pm) and they still had some lunch specials on. Corn fritters (not gf) were tasty and my hubby liked the roasted pepper soup. Our pizzas… so delicious. I have a gluten allergy and ordered the GF pizza. Best pizza I have had outside of Italy! The service was excellent and I would highly recommend the Aperol Spritz (they made it, no pre-made syrup stuff). Decor is really nice.

We have visited here many times in the past and it has always been a pleasurable experience. We decided to celebrate our anniversary there this year. We had made reservations so our table was available when we arrived. Having been there many times before, we barely looked at the menu and our server, Jason, quickly realized that. We ordered a bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio to start, but sadly they were out and we tried something different based on our server's recommendation. We were not disappointed. Delicious. Our appetizers came very quickly and the bruschetta was excellent. We had decided on a Margherita pizza and it too was superb. Having had this type of pizza in Naples Italy, we can truly say this was an example of Italian pizza. For dessert, spouse ordered tiramisu, her favourite, and she enjoyed it immensely. Sadly, I was disappointed that they had removed zeppoles from the menu. These were so good the last visit. Please bring them back on the menu!!! I settled for the Tortino Dulce de Leche. It was good, but not as good as the zeppoles. Our server, Jason, was excellent, very attentive and took the time to chat with us. Oh, the limoncello hit the spot too. We highly recommend this restaurant. Great food and great service. It can be busy at times, so reservations would be suggested.

I ate there 2 times in 2 weeks. The first time I sat at the bar and watched in awe at the girl making and cooking the pizzas in the wood fired oven never stopped the entire time I was there. What a pro. The pizzas I had both times were quite flavourful and just the right size. Not heavy like some places. The wait staff was courteous and friendly. Lots of beer and wine to choose from. Relatively inexpensive in the downtown St. John's restaurant scene. I recommend but make a reservation on Thurs to Sunday or you may not get a table.

I’ve eaten here numerous times in the past but after a number of poor experiences I stayed away for years. Decided to dine in recently and give it another try. Had to wait about 30 minutes to get seated which wasn’t an issue because we hadn’t made a reservation. Really nice staff, clean place, light and airy. We both ordered pizza and both were done perfectly. We washed it down with Italian beers and red wine, very good. Nice to see Piatto is back to delivering top notch fare and reasonable prices. We’ll return for sure.

We made the mistake of ordering pasta here. It was a very fat noodle that was very starchy. Both my wife and I had servings of pasta with a large clump of noodles stuck together at the bottom of the bowl. This Resturant is very popular with the locals and is known for their wood fired pizza. The Restaurant was packed last night and most (all) were enjoying the pizza. The service was outstanding in the upstairs part of the dinning room. I would recommend but next time will be pizza

Finding authentic pizza in St. John's is hard, but Piatto does it perfectly. As a European, I can say that the menu options are aligned with what you would find in Italy. Fresh tomato sauce and lots of variety made for a delicious experience!

What a great experience! I think maybe the best Italian thin crust pizza I've had. It was fun watching them make it and cook it in the wood fired oven. The atmosphere was fun, great decor with Italian theme, high ceilings, Vespa scooters, etc. Service was friendly and professional. Can't go wrong with any of the choices. There's no thick greasy meat lovers here, all light, crispy, with authentic Italian ingredients. Had Italian wine and sodas, and desserts like Nutella pizza, chocolate mousse, Lemoncello torte, and of course gellato. Recommended, would definitely go back.
