Our local guide says this place has the best fish and chips. It wasn't meal time for us, so we just stopped in for a pint. Up a side ally - not on the main drag. Mostly local folks.

A truly typical British pub in Newfoundland with tasty fish’n’chips - clearly a favorite for locals. Great, thoughtful waitress who gave advice as needed and took great care of us. Nice room that doesn’t get crazy loud even when 100% full!

This cozy pub is a staple of St-John’s. It hasn’t changed in years because it doesn’t need to. Locals and tourists are always happy to visit.

Hands down the best fish & chips I've ever had! It was amazing!! The Master Chef's would joyfully describe the light tender "barely there" batter, enhancing the delicate fish inside... LOL !! It was AMAZING !!! My husband would have enjoyed the beer collection.

Stopped by for a quick bite and pint- lovely pub atmosphere and good food. Must try the fish and chips. I first visited the Duke over 30 years ago and always drop in for a pint when visiting the province and things rarely change. Always...More

We went there for Fish and Chips. One person had pan fried cod. The Fish was very good but a little watery. The person who had the pan fried cod said it wasn't great. The pub is small so the tables are somewhat crowded. There...More
