Excellent service and a great atmosphere! Definitely has a local kind of vibe, but very welcoming! Bathrooms are a but out of the way to get to, but a cool spot to hang out.

Not very expensive, great selection of beers. Fish good, but need to let it sit on a towel- fried- to drain it a bit. Good company makes time even better, They have Locally caught cod- the best.

Great old spot. Not huge, and kinda cramped, but the place oozes character. Not many local beers on tap, but a decent selection nonetheless. Super friendly staff. The reason to visit: excellent fish and chips. Delicious batter on the fish, and cooked to perfection. Tartar sauce good but not necessary. Fries are plentiful and delish. Superb gravy.

This restaurant was recommended to us. It is popular with the locals. The fish is delicious, cooked just right, batter thin and crispy. We went there twice.

Excellent fish and chips! Good choices of local beers. Good atmosphere. Good service both from the server and kitchen. Very quick even though they were extremely busy. Did ask for sauce to be on the side for veggie wrap but did not happen. Diabetic in our party. Dietary needs are important and should be met.

The Duke is a staple in downtown St. John's. This place is a cool little pub on a side alley that offers some of the best fish and chips I have ever had. And definitely don't forget the fries, dressing, gravy on the side. Check this place out for sure its like something out of a movie!

A great place to grab a beer and a wonderful feed of fish and chips (add the gravy). English Pub Style atmosphere, you may have to wait for a table but well worth the wait. Treat yourself at the Duke!
