Having worked in the food service industry I may be a bit harder to please than usual. My first visit to Joe's was about 30 years ago and the Scots skins are a favorite as well as the now long gone beef oven roasted sub. So since my favorite sub was no longer on the menu I order the beef dip. This is described as shaved roasted hip if beef served with au jus. The sandwich showed up with the beef cut with the grain (as opposed to best practice across the grain) this was more of a "pulled" beef sandwich. Pulled pork is popular but no one expects their beef dip to be prepared this way! The au jus was ok but the beef was dry and stringy. Not a pleasant experience. We had a server who was self admittedly new and she did great, very pleasant and attentive.

I had been to Wolfville a few times and had always passed this place by until I did a bit of research. This is a great spot for food, and had better food and portion sizes than the other trendy spot in town. Service was good, meal came out quickly, restaurant has a good environment and you have the option to sit on the patio. Will definitely be coming back here from now on.

Group of 4 on a busy Friday evening. Sign out front for patio seated was ‘seat yourself’ so we chose the only table available but had to stand beside it for 5 minutes until we got the attention of one of the wait staff to come clean it off as it was covered in food scraps. Anyway, once seated we were promptly waited on. The portions were good sized for the prices and the food was delicious! Wait staff was polite and attentive.

It was terrible. We waited 1/2 hrs for food. Their so called gluten friendly came with crispy fries which contain flour. Our burgers were incorrect and when we pointed this out we just got a shrug. One order chose a side ceaser instead of fries. They brought it with fries. They then did bring a side ceaser but charged an additional $8. for their mistake. The only good part of the meal was that the waiter was nice. We will not return and we will definitely not recommend.

Incompetent waitress to say the least. She was more concerned with calling each of us "hon" than taking and bringing our orders correctly. Two of the men wanted eggs benedict with different components (one with sausage, eggs soft; the other ham, eggs medium). Neither was correct when they came out so she apologized and said if they took them as is she would reduce the price on our bills. My meal had homefries that the majority were burned black. She said she would show that to the cook. When our bills came they each included extra "mayo". When I asked what that was she said that was a mistake and had given me the wrong bill. She swapped with our friends who had the same showing! Oh my goodness! She agreed to take the bills back. Returned and when I looked at them there wasn't any reduction in the eggs benedict (her error). When I asked why she responded with "well I'm now allowed to discount the food because then I'll have to pay for it". Well had we know she was not telling the truth originally we would NOT have accepted the incorrect orders. I don't know her name but it was around 12 noon on July 16 so it shouldn't be difficult for your management team to figure out which waitress it was who served us. At the time I would have asked to speak with a manager but it was embarrassing to say the least to have a fuss. Terrible service!

My wife and I go out and try to go to a different place in the local area every week. We went to Joe's Food Emporium and the atmosphere was nice the waiter was exceptional and the food was good as well as the prices were Fair. After our meal I went into the washroom to wash up and I was totally disgusted by the condition of the washrooms. I am not talking daily dirt I am talking to build up from like forever. They had a rusty old Air hand dryer if you would dare touch it and there was a roll of paper towel on the cabinet that everybody shove their Dirty Fingers in the roll off a piece of paper. Needless to say I left without touching their filthy tops or the filthy paper to dry them with. I certainly never would return as of this is the condition of the bathrooms that they expect the public to see I can't imagine they're kitchen which they don't expect you to see. Can you just imagine in this day and age when everyone is so sensitive to catch in any possible diseases? We certainly would never return.

We really enjoyed our lunch. Fabulous seafood chowder, the best server, Gillian. It was a huge bowl of chowder with bread reasonably priced at 14 dollars. Hubby liked the beef dip too.

Visiting Wolfville during some lovely weather and wanted somewhere to have lunch outside. This place fitted the bill - huge choice on the menu and free refills on sodas was ideal! Had the donair poutine, a massive portion which kept me going all day.

Following a very exhausting run of a recent theatre production I directed, my exhausting and very hungry cast wanted food and drinks, we hit Joes and the Ultimate server RYAN spoiled us rotten. We were promptly seated, fed, watered, labiated and even though we were late in the evening, the service was steady and friendly and the food was great as always! Thank you so much to Ryan for being friendly, helpful and accommodating to my starving pack of divas!!! We will be back!!

Me and 4 other friends went here for supper time, it wasn’t very busy, lots of empty tables. We ordered our food, and it took 1 hour and 20 minutes to come, it was absolutely ridiculous. One of my friends ordered fettuccini Alfredo and it came 15 minutes before my fish, they didn’t serve our food at the same. My friends cutlery was dirty and still had food stuck to it. My boyfriend ordered chicken Thai bites with his burger and it only came after we had all finished eating. Their donairs has no sauce, and my fish and vegetables was absolutely horrible. The vegetables were still raw and crunchy and my fish was pouring out grease 🤢. Would not recommend unless you want to spend 2 and a half hours at a restaurant.

Recently, I wallpapered my living room using a paste that was not unlike the seafood chowder we were served at Joe’s Emporium. Now, don’t get me wrong about Joe’s — it’s a class joint! — but don’t be mistaken by the attractive photos of the food on their website. If the internet ever perfects a taste function so that you could, say, lick your iPad to get a preview of what you could expect at Joe’s, then it would be an accurate way to assess the quality of their food. But under current restrictions, I would not recommend choosing Joe’s based only on visual cues provided by their website. Their food is tasteless. The above-mentioned seafood chowder owed its complete lack of flavour to its total absence of seafood. The one morsel mired in the paste I was served turned out to be a chunk of potato. It might be acceptable to serve such an abomination in a resto far from the sea (perhaps a small town in Saskatchewan), but this is Nova Scotia, man. Go down to the wharf or the local market and buy some real seafood if you want to put chowder on the menu!

We ordered take-out from Joe's tonight for supper. Hubby had the steak and baked potato, which is always a winner. I enjoyed the chicken souvlaki. It was absolutely delicious. It looked and smelled so good that I skipped straight to the main course and postponed the greek salad. It was a very generous serving ..... chicken, grilled peppers, onions and mushrooms, rice, tzatziki and warm flatbread....the salad is in the fridge waiting for tomorrow lunch. FYI - Joe's has THE best pizza in Wolfville also.

I typically go to Joe's on a Monday for Spaghetti for only 5 dollars-How can it get better than that! A big plate of spaghetti with a slice of garlic bread. I would only recommend getting meat sauce, the veggie sauce tends to be over-salted. There is a very friendly environment in the restaurant. The service is usually amazing when I am served by erica, she is always a delight to chat with and always has a smile on her face. Saw her on Thursday and service was prompt as usual. Will 100% go again.

My husband and I just left Joe’s Pub & Eatery. We are on vacation and just drove to Wolfville from Halifax. We sat outside by the staff door where all servers passed by. As my husband was driving, I started with a strawberry daiquiri as it was a very hot day. We ordered our meals and they were served within a reasonable time frame. We sat there, ate our meals, I drank my daiquiri, and we finished our water. Not once did our server come by to ask if we needed anything, if our meals were good, if we wanted any dessert, if we needed a water refill or if I wanted another drink. So we just sat there for 10-15 minutes after our meals were finished while our server ran outside and passed our table to have a chat with a passerby. She finally came over and said “want your bill?” Unbelievable!!

I went to Joe's a few months back with my basketball team, The meal was good and so was the drinks and the service. But the price of everything you get was pretty expensive and say that it should be a bit cheaper. The desert there was good. I recommend to go there to eat. I will be coming back for sure.
