This pub has become a regular visit for us when we are in Antigonish. We try to get there early because it is always busy. They offer local food and drinks, with a good variety to choose from. The food is not the usual pub...More

The restaurant is always busy, excellent food especially the chowder and mussels. The salmon board was excellent and also the seafood pie. In addition to the great food, also try the local beer on tap. This restaurant is more for the locals vs the university...More

This place is very popular. Not sure if they take reservations, but a good idea to book one if they do. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table, but it was Sept long weekend. The staff were very friendly and the service was...More

We arrived shortly after the pub opened on a Sunday hoping to have dinner, a few drinks and enjoy the music. Unfortunatley that did not happen. There was not room but we did get a drink on the 'deck' but the wait was about 80...More

Hi Sandlew00d, Thanks so much for coming by, and I'm very sorry we were not able to accommodate you. Sunday nights are very busy for us with the session and the roast, and this past weekend was extraordinarily so as it was not only the...More

One of the restaurants recommended by our innkeepers in Antigonish. We had a very enjoyable evening meal with great service. A busy place but we were seated quickly even though we didn't have reservations.

Great spot to enjoy some fresh modern style foods tucked into a older heritage style building. Good selection of craft style beer to wash everything down. If you have food allergies or issues they have gluten, vegan style options.

Went on a Saturday evening with a small group to welcome a new friend. Stopped in for a couple of drinks (2 each) and were treated well by the waitress who was lovely. However, the Irish chap chose to express impatience by slamming down chairs...More

This restaurant if you can get in offers a taste of what the locals love. Good beer, great food, and local music to round it out.

I had a nice rainbow beet salad, although it was on the small side for an entree. My husband had the bacon jam burger and said it was good for 'pub food'. This place is very popular but small, so it was hard to get...More

Description
The Townhouse is a cozy, neighbourhood pub, focused on great Nova Scotian craft beer, and fresh, local food. We have 9 taps of NS microbrews, including our own Terry's Best Bitter, brewed upstairs, cask-conditioned, and served on a traditional hand pump. Our guest tap changes regularly, featuring one-offs & seasonals from breweries across the province. Our eclectic menu starts with the best local, seasonal products from the area - from seafood to root veggies - and offers them up in traditional and un-traditional ways. Our kitchen takes great pride in making (almost) all of our food - breads, desserts, pates, pickles, spice mixes, dressings, and chutneys - from scratch, in house. You'll find old world pub favourites, hearty main dish salads, rustic taverna fare (Tapas boards, oysters on the half shell), and dishes from farther afield (Mexican Pizza, Korean Pork & Kimchi Burger, Thai Jungle curry). We are fast becoming famous for our ultra-rich Lobster Chowder and Polish Cheesecake. Although inspired by the neighbourhood pubs of the UK and Ireland, the Antigonish community and our wonderful regulars give the pub it's real colour and relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Weekly events include live jazz and trivia during the school year, and every Sunday we serve a roast and host a traditional Irish music session from 6:30pm.
