We visited this restaurant today for lunch, 2nd time in month. Fish and chips not as good 2nd time reason first time to beautiful loins of haddock, 2nd time 1 loin 1 small fillet. Gullet cooked same time as loin resulting in loin being overcooked...and tough. A restaurant's greatest asset is consistency. The other dishes were appreciated and tasty. This restaurant offers a good meal at a reasonable price. It will continue to be our go to place in Antigonish when we visit but they need to be consistent.More

I live outside Antigonish and this is the only place I enjoy eating in Antigonish. Joan and her staff are welcoming, attentive and ensure all customers enjoy a wonderful experience at the Brownstone. A few weeks ago six of us were in Antigonish (from all...over the province) and enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Brownstone. I love how the menu offers something for everyone at such a reasonable price. We love the decor and the beautiful patio. As usual, we received wonderful service and attention. This is truly one of the best places to go when in Antigonish. Everything about the Brownstone makes it one of our favorite stops! If you haven't been there yet, you need to go!! The best!More

We went there for lunch traveling from Cape Breton. I had a bowl of seafood chowder and the Thai chips. I love a good chowder and try it whenever I am at a new restaurant. This chowder was the best I ever had. The smokey...flaver was very pleasent buy not overpowering. The chips were very good as well. My wife enjoyed her fish and chip as well. We are looking forward to out next trip to that area so we can drop in again.More

On what was probably the hottest evening of the 2021 summer, we waited very patiently for an outdoor table. It’s a lovely patio. The hostess was attentive and polite and several times came to update us on the status of an available table. After a...40 minute wait we were finally shown to a table...where we waited 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. After watching two tables seated after us receive water and their drink order, we waived over a server to ask for some water. Shortly after, a different server came out with the water and without so much as a ‘hello’ but definitely with an attitude, immediately asked if we were ready to order food. She made us feel like we were a problem. We placed the whole order all at once. Drinks, appetizer and entree...which were easy because we both ordered the same thing. It arrived almost all together, slapped down on the table. Not once did anyone come to ask us how the meal was...although halfway through we indicated we would like another beverage and again were treated like it was a very big hassle. I can appreciate it was a busy night, it’s been a hot week...but I have no time for rudeness. This particular server was next level rude. The food, by the way was ok. Agree with other reviews that the bruschetta is nothing special and the chicken souvlaki is decent. We were so upset by the service that we barely noticed the food. I debated not tipping at all but decided to take the high road and did because I know there are cooks and hostesses working hard in the background. I paid the bill with that unwarranted tip, we were not quite finished our drink, the patio was empty and that same server came out to clean other tables. When she was done, she cranked up the music as if to say - time to get out. Should we ever be back in Antigonish, I doubt very much we will ever go back to the Brownstone - which is a shame because for four years we enjoyed this restaurant every time we visited our daughter who was a student at X.More

My husband and I ate here last night and I ordered the chicken souvlaki. The meal was the best I've eaten in a long time and the service was excellent. If visiting Antigonish, I highly recommend a visit to the Brownstone Restaurant.

Pleasant staff adhering to covid protocols. Conveniently located downtown and close to the university. The bruschetta sliced bread was amply toasted but was too heavy with canned tomatoes and cheese. Lacked flavor. Would have been better presented as small crusty slices with less toppings ....The seafood casserole was ok served with a very good basmatic rice.More

Delicious lunch! I had the homemade maple pumpkin soup with a tea biscuit ... amazing! So was the brownstone garden salad. I enjoyed every bite. Our server was very friendly and prompt. Washroom was clean. All Covid19 protocols were in place. Everyone in our group...was happy with their meals. We’d definitely return.More

I’m not really sure. However I know they have the coconut cream pie, sticky toffee pudding, deep fried cheesecake... There’s so many it’s hard to remember. They’re all made from scratch too. Delicious!! :)
