I've ordered here many times the last couple years post covid. Usually the chowder it's just that good. I get it with the mussels but out of the shell, right in the chowder. Today I went with my daughter who got the chowder but i...got the Lobster roll for the first time Fantastic for both. Great food. Great service as always. One thing, I've mentioned it a few times now. Update your website with up to date prices. And now update your website, It's down for a week now.More

I've read lots of good reviews but I got a thin piece of fried haddock which tasted fine and a pile of inedible chips!

Fantastic fish and chips shop in the Dartmouth/ Alderney ferry terminal! Don’t be turned off by the location in the terminal - this was the best fish we had our entire visit to the maritimes. Super fresh fish and the batter is gluten free! Servers...were very well informed about gluten allergies/intolerance/celiac and provided white vinegar and tartar sauce with my order in place of malt vinegar. They also have gluten free onion rings and sweet potato chips and several gluten free desserts! Well worth a trip over on the ferry if you are in Halifax or a trip down to the waterfront if you are in Dartmouth!More

Ordered seafood chowder takeout. They do have some tables there in a food court type setting. A bit of wait but they were very busy on a Saturday. Well worth the wait. I live 15 minutes from there and it was still piping hot when...I got home. The chowder was full of fish, scallops and you could easily see the lobster instead of having to dig around looking for it. Nice broth good for dunking the warm fresh roll. This is probably 2nd only to The Canteen chowder. It's ahead of the Esquire. I will definitely be back. Next time I'll see if I can call ahead for pickup.More

Evan's Fresh Seafood does not disappoint. The food was excellent and reasonably-priced. We had the Seafood platter with a great selection of seafood and loved all of it. Highly recommend dining here.

The seafood chowder was unbelievable full of beautifully prepared seafood. We each had a bowl and then split the lobster poutine. Highly recommend both. Absolutely delicious!

Ordered fish and chips, lobster poutine and a side of scallops, then took them out to the bar outside to grab a local beer and watch the ferries. The fish was fresh and tasty, the scallops were sweet, and the poutine and the view were...both over the top.More

If you want a proper Lobster Roll, Evans is the place to go. Loaded on a buttery hotdog style bun. And the fries were nice and crisp.

Evan's is conveniently located in the Alderney Landing which is adjacent to the Ferry Terminal when taking the ferry to Dartmouth. We ordered our food inside and grabbed a table outside overlooking the walkway & views of the harbour. Server & staff are super friendly...but the food was a tad slow in arriving. My scallop tacos were tasty and my wife's jambalaya was pretty ordinary. Fish/shellfish were a tad overcooked and was not prepared as a stew. Jambalaya food items were served on a plate. Atmosphere outside was casual & scenic. I noticed that Evan's food counter had a variety of fish & seafood which you could take home to cook@ reasonable prices.More

This is a great little spot. Take out or eat in, very casual, with a deck outside. We had fish tacos. The tacos were homemade, the fish was fresh, the topping with guacamole was great. Highly recommend.

We had fried clams overlooking the harbour and it couldn't of been better. They were cooked perfectly and were a good size. It's a small market place with a great seafood menu. Great service too. We will be back.

This place just keeps getting better and expanding their menu to cater to celiacs and those with allergies. Even during the busiest times the staff are so professional and the food is quick. Great place for families!

Lived my whole life in Nova Scotia and I am VERY fussy about my seafood. Evans is one of the best in Dartmouth. The seafood is always fresh, the fish is not heavily battered and greasy, the seafood chowder is delicious with a very generous...amount of seafood. The small size chowder is very filling and a real bargain at $10 inc. a roll. I also love their spicy fish burgers. YUM! My husband had lobster poutine and he loved it. They also have quite a few gluten free items ...not an issue for me, but I know it is for many. One of the tests for fish and chips to me is "are the fries hand-cut or frozen?"...theirs are hand cut. I love that the fish is not encased in 3 inches of greasy batter. Evan's is my also my favourite spot for fish and chips. The other great place for chowder is The Canteen around the corner (pricier but very, very good). I just read a review from 2018 of Evan's ...WOW I could not disagree more. The reviewer recommends John's Lunch and Pleasant St. diner. These places are for people who value quantity over quality. So if you need huge portions of food, you like frozen french fries and big greasy battered fish...then yes, those places would fit the bill.More

Just got fish and chips today , I ordered over the phone. They should at least tell you that the fish and chips is frozen cod. It’s pretty bad, the fries were good. That’s why I gave them a one.
