We simply had a wonderful dinner; listened to outstanding music; and interacted with both Ben and Claude--the combination of which could not have made a better evening. Ben assisted us with reservations and dinner choices, and made it a wonderful evening. Claude, one of the owners, interacted with patrons, and even joined with the wonderful music being played. We would strongly recommend everyone to go to the Sydney Street Pub for an evening of wonderful food, service and personnel/friends .

If you're in digby, I'd look at stopping here. When you first walk in, there is a sign that says to expect longer wait times during busy service because food is cooked to order, which is great! , and, when I was there, they had from what I could see, probably a full house. Servers were running fast as they could. I felt bad for one server. The gentleman serving the table had a difficult one. They continually complained about wait times, how their child should've been in bed an hour ago, etc, etc. As they were waiting, two servers were walking by the room and the woman got up and began asking them quite aggressively about how long it would take. Not long after, in came their food, they were probably plating it while she was talking to the two servers who didn't know where she was even sitting. Same woman made rude comments (loudly) about another table when the girl sitting beside the window closed it just half way because she was chilly, but still left it open because the room was hot. The waiter, handled this woman very professionally in my opinion. The staff never stopped. They were friendly and the food was so beautifully plated to match the amazing flavor. I'm assuming people can't understand that one person is tending 25. if it was full house and one has 25 people, Ill assume the others had close numbers to match. All in all, definitely coming back. The worst part of my experience here was seeing the impatience of customers who also treated staff poorly. This place is dining and experience, it's not fast food. The staff rocked it that night!

We can’t recommend this darling pub enough! They let us in 15 minutes before opening because we had walked over 15 kms throughout the town and were tired. The waiter was just a doll - fun and knowledgeable.
The menu was varied and interesting. We ordered deep fried cauliflower bites (ok) and the potato skins (delicious) as appetizers and our main dishes included: fish tacos (beautiful) with chickpea salad (above and beyond delicious), burger with fries (delicious with a maple bbq sauce), veggie lasagna (lots of spinach and cheese with tomato based sauce vs. creamy) with Cesar salad (they had soy bacon bits for me which was lovely) and garlic bread, and the beef and broccoli bowl with glass noodles (flavourful and filling but ask for a spoon to make eating the noodles easier).
Drinks: a bay breeze (fantastic) and beer which was ice cold with the perfect amount of foam.
Upon leaving, we were greeted with a basket of fresh tomatoes on the deck with a “Help Yourself” sign
Would love to visit again.

We went to hear live music. The musicians were great. The space was not very good for moving about though. The place seems choppy and has no flow or personality. Our server was nice enough but had a sense of humour we found a little crude and awkward. The food came and wasn't what we expected. The very few pictures on Facebook did not look anything like what we received, but the pictures seem to be ones used over and over from months/years ago. The time it took for the food to come was far too long, but we were warned by several locals of the long wait time. Not a great presentation. It tasted ok. Not a lot of flavour though. We imagine the summer months are good for balcony drinks and appys. I expect that is the best time and reason to go....listen to live music on the balcony with a nice view and a drink.

A unreasonable long wait for the food. The service staff was friendly enough, but didn’t seem too concerned when I brought up the subject of my meal not tasting good. Very greasy food. I know we’re hard, pressed for good food in Digby, but I’d hoped for better.
If you get a chance to sit on the deck, it’s a nice view. If you’re looking to just sit and have a drink, go for it. But if you’re looking for a tasty meal, that’s got flavour and a wow factor… this is not your place.
The male owner was very rude and belligerent with some of the staff. I overheard him yelling as I went to the bathroom. He seems like he has anger issues! Not a good look when customers can see that and hear it.
I came here two years ago and rather enjoyed it. The food presented back then was flavourful, nicely presented and definitely far healthier than it is now. Now it is comparable to a Denny’s or a roadside Café. I just don’t enjoy my food swimming in grease and find it extremely overpriced for the quality that you get.

Just up the hill from the harbor, this is a creative and comfortable place for lunch, with seating both inside and out. I had ribs, that were good, but a little tough. My wife had the black bean burger and she reported it to be exceptionally good. The staff are very attentive and they understand the needs of gluten free diners completely. If you need GF food this is one place in Digby you can rely on.

Sat outside on the deck, served by Tammy.
Claude the co-owner came to chat to us too.
We both had the fat local scallops and shared delicate tempura shrimp to start. Another bottle of Jost Pinot Grigio, which we were starting to adore.
A very buzzy place with live music inside, stayed open late too.

The general vibe of this place is nice, but our experience was let down by the disorganised kitchen. We had ordered a starter to share, followed by two mains. About 50 minutes after placing our food order, our server said the kitchen had burned our starter, and they were cooking another portion. It did arrive about 15 minutes later, but with everything served at once - including our main dishes of scallops and chicken souvlaki. This was irritating, and no apology was offered. The food was ok - the scallops cooked well, but served a bit cold. The sharing beef nachos , again quite nice, but I would have preferred not to have had to choose between eating one of those and the increasingly cold scallops! My partner’s chicken souvlaki was poor - lowest common denominator type of food, served with a pile of plain rice.
Our server was pleasant and attentive, but it’s a shame this place’s kitchen didn’t get its act together on our visit!

In a nutshell, I can't really advocate this restaurant. We are new to the area and are trying out as many restaurants as we can. Location is lovely. Fantastic view. Trying to get on order filled was like pulling teeth with our waitress. The menu was just a nightmare of add-ons, and "if that, then that, but not that!" And "we are out of that. No, that item can't be served today" OK... So finally we got an order in, and after about an hour wait (it wasn't even busy in there), the waitress comes out with it. One dish wasn't even close to what we ordered. The other had sauce that was obviously burnt. What we tried to eat was flavourless. When we brought it to the attention of the waitress, she became defensive and said we were mistaken and the order was correct. Apparently her son is the line cook, so I suppose the nepotism there takes precedents over customer service. We paid and left. Left the food behind too. Take into consideration the prices are ridiculously high for what you get.

We always have a delicious and fun time at this friendly beautiful pub. Lobster in a cognac sauce over linguini was one of the specials tonight and it was divine. As always, service was perfect as we sat out on the deck that overlooks the Digby harbour- it just doesn’t get better. Oh and did I mention there is live music too.

We enjoyed dining on the upper deck in the sunshine with water views. The service is friendly and welcoming. The food was very enjoyable, I had the fish tacos which were delicious and my husband ordered the scallops, followed by fish & chips. All the dishes were lovely and the mains were on the larger side. Following our meal we enjoyed the live music on offer downstairs

We enjoyed a wonderful evening on the outdoor deck relishing a perfect summer evening. Had a local beer while perusing the menu, then chose the fish tacos with a side salad, and the brisket sandwich with a side Waldorf salad. All delicious. We had to laugh at some of the reviews that had been recently posted - a number of complaints about waiting for food. Well, guess what? You want fast food, go to Tim Horton's. You want a nice casual evening with good food prepared when you order it, then welcome to a nice evening out. Dinner should be savored. Really enjoyed this place.

I made a reservation at this restaurant in advance as I had planned a trip to stay in Digby. I had eaten here a couple of years ago on vacation and remember it being a nice atmosphere so was excited to try it again. When we arrived for our reservation we were seated at our table. It took quite a bit of time just for the server to bring our menus and tell us the specials, and then about another 20 minutes for them to come back to the table to get our drink/food order. When the server came back he was confused why the other server hadn't looked after us yet. Food was delivered quite quickly after we ordered but it was subpar. The salad was swimming in dressing. Luckily the food was reasonably priced. The atmosphere felt a bit chaotic, stressful and it was not an overly enjoyable time.
The servers were apologetic to us about the confusion and wait times—they were also pleasant and friendly. From my own experience serving in the past I see this is a management issue and an issue of being understaffed so I don't blame the servers themselves. However, I was disappointed by the whole experience especially as I was looking forward to eating there again. I don't know if I will give it another try in the future.

After driving from Halifax, arrived here at 7pm. Many of the restaurants in Digby close at 7pm. Was seated quickly but then ignored for 20 minutes. Waitress served table beside us after they were seated after us. Ended up leaving without ordering or even getting some water or drinks.

Best place in Digby for food, libation, and music. I had the pork belly stir fry my wife had the lobster linguine. Both dishes were fantastic, great flavor and beautiful presentation. Local craft beer, local wines and Local charm!
