While staying at Dockside suites, the restaurant became our go to for breakfast and dinner. The server was so nice we requested her the second night. The place was accommodating too. A lobster special included scallops and shrimp and we asked for scallops only and were told ‘no problem’ at no increased costs. Everything we had, sitting outdoors by the water, was outstandingly prepared, including the breakfasts. Excellent lobster both steamed and baked. Definitely worth it!

Tonight we had a fantastic meal at the Fundy Restaurant. Like many restaurants in the province, they have been impacted by staffing shortages, but they are working very hard to accommodate their guests and were very upfront when we waited to come in that there would be some delays. We are on vacation so we were fine with that. We had a very nice and friendly waitress and she brought us dinner rolls without us asking for them while we waited for our food. When the food did arrive it was amazing and worth the wait. At the end of the meal, we complemented our waitress and the kitchen, and the owner Dean overheard us and took the time to come and thank us for the positive feedback because many customers were less than patient. We are still living in a pandemic-impacted world - one where restaurants and retail stores are understaffed so we still need to treat people with patience and kindness. I hope everyone can remember that.

Lovely sitting on the balcony on a warm summer evening watching the tides come in. The Digby scallops were excellent. The dinner was a little spoiled by the sulky waitress without much personality. Luck of the draw. Worth a visit. We even saw a shark.

Ordered the special, lobster tail with shrimp and scallops . Ended up getting the baked lobster for a lot more money and it was bad, some kind of really bad breading stuff on top and a tough chewy lobster… Also had some half cooked bacon wrapped scallops to start…. I would defiantly keep walking next time… lots of places to choose from.

We were staying at the dockside suites attached to restaurant. We decided to have a seafood dinner here. The view of the ocean, and the boats tied up at the dock was great. We were seated and a staff member came to our table to offer water or drinks, a menu and to tell us about todays special. The special was Halibut and mixed vegs. I asked if the fish was fresh. We ordered wine while the staff went to check with kitchen staff. She returned to ensure it was the days fresh catch. My wife and I ordered the halibut. Shortly after starting the meal we realized this was not fresh fish caught today.. Now, thinking back I am now not even sure it was halibut. The meal was disappointing to say the least! The only upside to the meal was the wonderful waitress serving the meal. The waitress serving the meal was not the same person who took our order for wine and food. We have no plans to ever eat here again and certainly do not recommend it.

Storm day and not much open in Digby,I go downstairs from.my suite to try Fundy. Menu looks good but decide to go basic Fish n chips upgrade to pouting on the fries. Nothing about this meal is good...fries tasted out of the bag, gravy from a can and the fish should be way better from the south shore,it was heavily breaded and greasy, the fish was not fresh burnt and hidden on the bottom, I expected better and with a beer 32.50 way over priced.gross.

It is hard to put into words how great our whole experience was! We were advised in advance the restaurant was busy (and never felt for a moment service or food was taking too long). We were taken straight to an Oceanside table without having previously requested it and the glass railing served as a great wind break (even in a tank top We were warm enough outdoors on the patio on the ocean at dusk). The food and drinks were amazing, everyone enjoyed the cocktails, seafood, salads, soups, pastas, and appetizers. One our way out we checked out the live lobster tank and the 7lb lobster living in the main sitting room! But to top this off we were taken to see a 15lb lobster in another live tank! The server and host went above and beyond by offering to take photos with us and the beautiful sunset in the back ground after our evening was wrapped up. Oh and also - we had the pleasure of watching the ocean life play while we were enjoying our company at dinner. We will definitely be back - our visit could not have gone better ✨⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hubby and I headed here for lunch. He was in the mood for a small steak and after scanning the online menu we decided to give it a try. The day was mild and warm, so we ate outside on the deck with the wonderful views of the harbour. The hostess and waitress were both attentive and friendly. Hubby ordered the six ounce ribeye which was served with a choice of potato. He was hoping for a baked potato, but the choices today were roasted wedges or scalloped potato. He opted for the scalloped potato. I ordered the cranapple pecan salad with added shrimp The meals were excellent! Hubby's steak was tender, cooked to perfection and just the right portion for lunch. The scalloped potato was tasty and a perfect side dish to the steak, My salad was tasty, filling, and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. Neither of us had a complaint about the meal. We saw lots of fish, and seafood pass by on trays headed to other diners. It all looked great

just had the worst take out fish and chips ever, batter thick and gloopy, fish ancient or severely overcooked or both. either the take out version is different to the "eat in" one or we got a bad chef on duty tonight but I would have been ashamed to send that food out if I were cooking there. we've enjoyed everything during our visit to Digby except this.

The view from the patio was awesome! The food, however, was only mediocre. The special (for 26$) was the lobster mac and cheese- it was heavy on the cheese and pretty light on the lobster. The dish was topped with an overcooked and rubbery piece of a lobster claw that was almost inedible. I'm sure there are other meals on the menu that are much better. The service was great and the location is pretty cool with a few other establishments in the same building.

We went twice, once for lunch and the next evening, for dinner. Neither time did we had a reservation and both times, we were graciously accommodated. We always had seafood - haddock, scallops, and fried clams - and each was perfectly prepared and attractively served. Even the french fries, which we had once, were delicious. The service was always excellent as well. Many thanks!

With memories of soft buttery lobster rolls in Maine I was full of anticipation for my first bite of lobster roll in Nova Scotia on my first trip to maritime Canada, being a west coast Canada girl. I asked in advance of being seated to make sure they served my desired treat. I was given price up front for the roll with fries ($28) or with Caesar salad for $5 more, which I opted for in anticipation of that juicy deliciousness. The Caesar salad had limp lettuce and very little flavour (garlic?) but the lobster roll was most disappointing with hard semi stale bread, no grilled buttery flavour of my memory, chewy lobster and filled with spinach. The server was kind and obviously inexperienced (with minimum 18% tip) but friendly and pleasant. The patio setting with evening sun setting on docks and boats was gorgeous, but make no mistake, that’s what you’re paying for.

Well what a view to start. We sat outside on the upper patio and were told that certain things on the menu would take longer to make but totally worth it. Got the lobster and scallops which happens to be there specialty and I can see why. It was cooked perfectly. I couldn’t recommend it more. The service was so friendly and kind. We were shown monster lobsters and allowed to hold them and get some unbelievable photos. A real kudos to the staff that are working there butts off. The past year has been hard on all of us and especially the restaurant industry so to see the care that the staff took here was above and beyond what I could have imagined and if you have the opportunity to go , then do it. You will not be disappointed!

My wife and myself decided to stop into Digby for a quick casual lunch instead of breezing by on the freeway. Hunger for fresh seafood, scallops specifically was our dining desired focus for the Fundy Restaurant at 34 Water Street. Parking out front, lovely. There was a bit of a tell when we walked in feeling the unspoken greeting of surprised looks at the front loiterers desk, that anyone would come in. There was a tomb air about the place at mid day. Ordered modest dishes as it was just lunch. Caesar salad with scallops and a plate of Haddock and scallops. Assumed foolishly that even if we did not have the in seasonal premium seafood dishes that would have made our lunch several hundred, the food would have been prepared well and freshness would have been a moot point as expected at any establishment in the world renown east coast home of Scallops. What is served, is a curious disappointment of dry flavorless over done lump of Haddock in a lobster hard shell case of batter but with actually not bad Panco Scallops and frys. My wife is delighted with a decent Ceasar salad but came with flavourless leathery pan fried possibly halved scallops. We A-B the scallops. Pallet scintillating? Not! Our hunger prevailed as it was not all bad, yet we should have walked out as it was clearly well below par. With all the hype of fresh seafood in Digby, our expectations were not met at all. It was beneath sad as we found ourselves paying top dollar for what were possibly leftovers from the day before or something from a grocery store frozen food case. $ not $$$ value. In thinking that was the highlight of the lunch it wasn't. In attempting to use the washrooms they were found lacking in paper products. We found ourselves searching for staff to restock toilet paper and towels. Jeans and a napkin had to do for me, but wife had to search the mens room. We pitied our waitress as it would seem she is between an uncaring management and a hard place. With our considerable professional experience in the food industry we paid for our adventure and left downcast with an overall sense of being swindled. Perhaps during the summer months, only then one may possibly find a high grade of seasonal food and management available. Even then I would not get my hopes beyond a $ In the off season I would not be inclined to be a customer. Give the place a pass by at freeway speed.

This was an excellent dinning experience. Wonderful location on the water with the option of indoor or patio seating. You can't beat Digby Scallops! Chowder, served as an appetizer, was one of the best I have tested. This dinning experience showed the professionalism of this restaurant. When our highly anticipated entrees arrived we were disappointed that the meal was barely warm. My wife and I hardly ever complain but this time we had no choice. we politely voiced our concerns. Everyone was over the top helpful. Our server talked briefly with the manager and within five minutes new entrees were served. They were excellent. Our server was outstanding, the manager and chef offered their apologies. It was all so professionally done. Without hesitation. And to top it all off our server (Margie) and a voice from heaven as she sang 'Happy Birthday'. It was an outstanding evening of food and laughs.
