I went with the traditional. It was very good. It's a very extensive menu, an extremely greasy array of options. If you're into that, definitely go for it. I really liked my traditional one.

Fantastic friendly service, dropped by in a massive snowstorm so the place was empty. Tried several kinds but the Donair Poutine was my favorite. Fun place, great food.

I grew up with poutine, as a New Englander with French-Canadian roots. While visiting Halifax for the first time in December 2016, my wife and I wanted poutine for lunch, and visited Smoke's on the waterfront. We tried two varieties: The traditional fries-gravy-cheese, and the poutine with pulled pork. Both were very good, and there were a ton of other... More

Went here for lunch. Had a poutine with pulled pork and bacon. (yes,, I know ) . It was amazing. This is the real deal, comfort food and hangover meal set together. This is a must try when in Halifax.

Poutine is a big deal to any Haligonian so picking the perfect place to eat it is a big deal too. I decided to try eating poutine at Smoke's instead of my usual spot (Willy's, which is local) just to try something new. It wasn't nearly as good. It was average. That's all I can really say because there was... More

I went to the Waterfront location. They didn't have the full selection of Smoke's products, but they served up a solid dish of poutine. We shared the dish with someone who had never had poutine before, and they got a good taste of what the fries, gravy, and curds are all about. Thanks, Smoke's!

Tried their version of "home fries'- traditional poutine . Truly handcut, homemade potatoes deep fried and then mashed a bit I think. They were awesome, good amount of cheese curd too, good price, but they skimped a bit on their serving of gravy. The bottom of my tray should not be dry, or at least have a puddle in the... More

Obviously you have to have poutine when in Halifax. We went to Smoke's because Willy's was closed and we didn't want to take the time to cross the water to go to Cheese Curds. I wish we had. I got the original poutine at Smoke's and it was really just "meh". Gravy was relatively tasteless. Same with the cheese curds.... More

I have to admit, I'm a bit torn when it comes to Smoke's. See, I'm originally from Quebec, and had been in Halifax for a bit over a year before I heard that this place existed. By then, you'll understand, I was craving a poutine that wasn't thin sauce on hard fries with shredded cheddar pretty badly. So by some... More

We enjoyed sitting on the waterfront eating our poutine. Not overly priced, large serving. Enjoyable. As far as a healthy meal, it's not your best choice, but how can you go wrong with fries, gravy and cheese !
