After having lived in the New York metropolitan area for almost 40 years I will say that my standards for Jewish-style delis run quite high. The Hali Deli most certainly holds its own. We enjoyed smoked turkey and smoked meat on rye sandwiches with fries....The meats were fantastic - moist and flavorful. I typically eat smoked turkey on rye with Russian dressing, but the honey-mayo was very good. The fries were hand cut and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is authentic old-world with tons of memorabilia from ‘the old days.’ Service was attentive and friendly. We will be back to try some of their breakfast specials which looked delicious. Note: CASH ONLY.More

Went in around 2 pm for lunch , Ordered 2 Montreal style smoked meat sandwiches and asked for medium . Took about 10 minutes and server brought the meals. meat was not sliced but rather chunks hacked off from the brisket, no fat, and served...on horror of all horrors white bread. I enquired as to the provenance of the meat and was told it was from Lesters , the cook had not been trained about the correct style of cut for lean, medium or fat and white bread a definite no no. too pricey for that mediocre meal.More

Came here cause I heard it was the best place locally to get smoked meat. My friend got smoked meat sandwich and I got smoked meat eggs benny. Both were very good and were good portions. Its got a great old retro look to it...and the waitress was quite friendly. Will visit again sometime!More

Solid meal for a family of 6. The soups were delicious, in particular the borscht and the barley. Matzoh ball skip was also very good. The smoked meat was hand cut and flavourful although could have been served hotter. We would return.

Decided to try Hali Deli for the first time today. Put in a big order (over two hundred dollars). Service over the phone was great. However, they only take cash. Nowhere on their website is it stated that they only take cash and the person...over the phone also didn't mention it. This is a problem because if you're a first time customer like myself, you wouldn't know they only take cash (during a pandemic no less) So I had to scramble around at work trying to get cash instead of being able to pay with a credit card. Will never order here for work again, I don't care how good the food is.More

Love love love this place. It's only a 4 star review because I haven't had much on the menu apart from breakfast. They close at 3 most days and stay open late until 4 on Thursday and Friday so it's tough to find time to...try their big plate options. Small place that feels like it's been there for fifty years, very fast service and the food is amazing. Get their latkes instead of hash browns and challah toasted instead of rye, you'll thank me. The motzah ball soup will cure any cold you have, you just need to go to the deli to get it as they have no delivery options.More

Was looking forward to my first visit however it turned into my last. Sat at the counter for almost 20 minutes without any service, acknowledgement or effort. Busy day but did not get the impression that their customers mattered to them. Gave up and left.

We have eaten here several times and the food is always delicious, hot and just enough to satisfy. Home made french fries are excellent as are the smoked meat offering. And, their soups are always great. Give yourself lots of time as the place is...busy and service can be slow.More

Hali's Deli looks like many casual delis/diners but quickly becomes something extraordinary. Reuven's Reuben is made with meat the restaurant smokes itself which makes it tender, flavorful, succulent and the perfect foil for the traditional components of the sandwich. Also not to be missed ......the matzoh ball soup. My hosts brought me straight from the airport -- great choice. Arrive hungry!More

So happy we randomly found this place online. Bread was fresh, portions were great (on the large size) and staff was super nice. Lox and eggs and corned beef hash were delicious. Please note its cash only.

Stopped in to Hali Deli on a Saturday around 11am. We got the last table in the restaurant and I'm thankful! My friend and I both ordered the Mish Mash Hash with the Challah bread. Holy smokes was that delicious! The bread was toasted yet...still really soft and the hash was unreal. Delicious, caramelized pieces of different meats like salami, brisket and smoked meat along with delicious home fried potatoes. The service was good and I would highly recommend it to anyone!More

We were all extremely happy with our recent lunch at Hali Deli! The smoked meat sandwich and the Reuben were loaded and the fries perfectly cooked and delicious. The salmon cakes with breakfast were a hit as well! Prices on their big menu are very...reasonable and service excellent. I highly recommend this great restaurant! We will definitely return!More
