Staff Christmas Dinner Event

The Department of Urology had the privilege of holding our annual Christmas dinner at Café Chianti in early December. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed their meals and the service was very attentive. Beautiful evening to dine outdoors on the waterfront

We returned to Cafe Chianti and enjoyed at nice meal on their outdoor patio. A gentleman set up playing music nearby. We ordered the steak pizza and arancini to share. Our daughter and son in law loved the pasta pappardelle- lots of chicken and mushrooms....Servers were friendly and attentive. Looking forward to dining here again soon.More

Waterfront dining

I came here for dinner as a group of eight and had the calamari as an appetizer while most of the others had the arancini. For the main dish I opted for the Atlantic halibut plate (although I hesitated to go for the seafood linguini...which some in my party opted for). The food was delicious and the wine we selected proved to be a great accompaniment. Service was attentive. The location is prime.More

Lovely night out!

Nice atmosphere & delicious food

We recently enjoyed a delicious supper at Cafe Chianti overlooking the Halifax waterfront. The risotto appetizer was amazing ! Service was excellent and our pasta was tasty and portions were generous. We look forward to visiting again and trying the wood fired pizza.

I love Chianti !

I love this restaurant so much and have been here numerous times over the last year, never having a bad meal or experience yet. The roasted garlic pappardelle is probably my favourite main and the risotto balls are my fave appetizer. But really, everything is...flavourful and fresh with a good proportion. I’ve always had excellent service by all staff and the decor and Vibe is really comfortable and cozy. I’ve taken many friends here, and we keep returning!More

Cafe Chianti shines despite power outage

Couldn't miss the opportunity to publicly praise Cafe Chianti after our recent weekend date night there. It's a lovely modern yet cozy space right on the waterfront with an adjoining pub option. The view out onto the harbour adds to the whole experience. On this...night, the power went out after our appetizers were served. We understood this was out of the restaurant's control and certainly they wouldn't want this on a busy weekend night. The dining area lighting was fine because it was still daylight but I suspect the kitchen was dark. The hostess did a wonderful job of communicating with us and the chef refused to give in to the outage. They managed to cook our entrees (I think with the help of candlelight) a little differently, with a gas source. The meals, the tenderloin and a pasta dish, were wonderful. There was no clue about the power outage in our food. I can't say enough about the care, the attention to detail and the willingness to go the extra mile. Thank you to the whole staff at Cafe Chianti.More

An Amazing Evening

We had a lovely evening at Cafe Chianti! The cocktails we had to begin our night were delicious (gin lemonade & an old fashioned). Our server Kristy was very attentive but not overbearing, and the food was fantastic. I would highly recommend it to anyone...looking for a great Italian meal in HalifaxMore

Service was just satisfactory when it was even present. Took a very long time for food to come out, and it wasn't even busy. It appeared the owner or manager (questionable) was more preoccupied with their own food and beverage(s) than their actual guests. Food...was cold, limp, small portion and presented as having sat under a heat lamp for a long time. I would not return nor recommend this establishment to anyone visiting or living in HRM. This was not my first time here, or their front of restaurant pub, but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, I'm now giving a PSA to those. Maybe you'll have a different experience, and I hope you do!More
