I'd give it more than five if I could. We were staying next door at the Marriott Harbourfront and given the Restaurant is a 1 minute walk, decided that it would be our last meal in Halifax. We were not disappointed. An amazing waiter took care of us. An absolute sweetheart. Lovely to meet staff in restaurants that you'd love... More

My husband and I always say "why don't we go there more often" ! We always sit upstairs, love the view and the dim lit dining room after dark. We always enjoy the food. A great spot for date night! Good pricing on bottled wines too!

This is in a perfect location especially for tourists. Directly on the waterfront . The service isn't as quick as other restaurants in the area but the food is worth it

I don't frequent this place, maybe having eaten here 6 or 7 times over the past decade, but a big reason for that is the inconsistency in the food, but mostly in the service. That said, when they get it right, it's a great experience. Given the prices and location though, it should be a little more reliable.

I visited Salty's during a winter evening. I had a window seat. The view would be pleasant during the summer. I had their seafood casserole. I could be described as a shepherds pie, only with seafood (covered in mashed potatoes). Along with a glass of beer, it was a good meal, about what I would expect from the casual environment.... Our cab driver recommended this place and although it was good it was typical. Most things were fried but there was no emphasis on fresh. We ate at much better places. It was quick and filling though

We had friends staying with us, whose daughter has Coeliac disease. We visited Salty's for lunch. Our server, Samantha, was extremely helpful. She knew the menu well and was able to advise us regarding gluten free options for our friends daughter. Nothing was too much trouble and she was friendly and accommodating throughout. This restaurant is in a great location,... More

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and got a beer(actually 2 beer) and garlic bread W/melted cheese etc. Beer was local (Garrisons Red ) very tasty. View of the harbor is great and you can watch the ferry to Dartmouth arrive and depart as the terminal is right next door. Staff are nice and attentive. If I lived in Halifax... More

Hadn't been to Salty's in years and took our out of town friends there for some seafood. We were NOT disappointed! Generous portions and delicious food that was well worth the prices! Big glasses of wine were welcome as well ;) The service was excellent and our server gladly moved our table to one by the window as soon as... More

Salty's have, without question, the best fish Cakes anywhere! And there were so good the first time I had them, I've only ordered this treat ever since. So over the past 8 years I've become quite the 'expect' of this dish. Highly recommend you give them a try. They're filled with fresh fish ..... and the lack of 'filler' I... More
