Enjoyed our lunch but it was just average. Maybe it's because there are so many options in the area it takes something really special to stand out. They do serve Kilkenny on tap so that's a big plus.

The Old Triangle is a terrific place to have a lunch while in Halifax. Just off of the boardwalk, the variety of beer is amazing - try the Clancy. The food is freshly made and while waiting for it to be prepared to your exact specifications, speak with the bartender. Lots of stories, pictures and you are actually disappointed when... More

Fantastic music if you are looking for a good Irish pub experience. I love the feeling of this place. My only complaint is that it is chopped up into two or three different spaces which does not allow good music presentation to those rooms behind. That being said, if the place were all open, it would lose it's cosy appeal.... More

Having been to Ireland, we loved this pub. The fish and chips are very good and there is a good selection of beers. They have nightly music which is very entertaining. We went there every day we were in Halifax!

If you like real Irish pubs, you'll love this place. It feels right out of Dublin. Live music nearly every night. The food is good, but the bar room is what I fell in love with. Go for a Guinness, or check out Irish coffee nights every Sunday. Some outdoor seating if the weather is nice. I wish my hometown... More

My son and I had lunch at The Old Triangle and were so pleased that we skipped the usual touristy seafood options. His cheeseburger was perfectly cooked and my boxty (curried chicken!) was delicious. The atmosphere is fun and relaxing. Will remember this place for our next visit!

Just as you would expect from a pub on a Saturday night, it was loud, busy, hard to find a seat and slow service. There was live music, which was fun but meant that ppl stood around to listen so they were awkwardly lingering just over your shoulder. The beer came quickly, but the food did not - it took... More

The humus was flavourless, the seafood pasta was just ok and the lobster BLT was passable but sat under the lights too long and got crusty. They had a highchair for our daughter. It was a long brunch. The place was packed. Meh.

Server was very friendly but service was extremely slow. Had the mussels and lobster and scallop pasta. Friend had mussels as well and we were both feeling nauseous after. I have been sick twice. Would not recommend this restaurant.

A really good time. We met friendly locals, did a little dancing and the two man, guitar and bass band was superb. A mixture of contemporary Celtic-style music and American folk/country classics. First class. And the food was quite good and reasonably priced. I had the lamp shank -- pretty good, not great; my wife had the chicken pastie -- that... More
