About
We are a mindful independently owned cafe with a focus on fresh and conscious eating. We have just opened a new location where we can serve you face to face. Opening September 6th at the MacLaren Art Centre. Our breakfast and lunch menu that strongly emphasizes vegetarian and gluten free options along with locally raised meats & free range eggs. Everything is made in house including our sandwich bread which is a whole wheat focaccia & our soups which are always made gluten free. We are proud to serve Planet Bean coffee, a small micro-roaster from Guelph along with Pluck tea.

Had the most wonderful experience yesterday with some friends at the Lazy Tulip Cafe. This is my fourth or fifth time going and I have been blown away every time. Considering COVID-19 has shut down dine-in, we were fortunate to eat on the patio that they have every weekend. There is only four tables but it is very easy to make a reservation online. There are so many vegan options for those who are plant based. I ordered the vegan breakfast tacos, a side of hash browns and a bowl of their daily soup which was a mushroom dill. Everything was wonderful. The soup reminded me of my grandmother's polish soup she used to make every Christmas. There was five of us and every one of us enjoyed our meals. They also have DELICIOUS hot sauce that go great with the hashbowns. 10/10 and would highly recommend to those who visit or live in Barrie!

Can’t wait to travel again so I can dine at The Lazy Tulip. I follow them on Instagram & FB & wanted to give them a shout out for doing such a great job on social media! They’re keeping us informed of how they’re handling Covid in their cafe & the pics of the food!(so delicious)! What I love to see is how involved Michelle & her cafe are in their community. Working to better her city through unity, outreach, reflects on of her café & what Michelle is all about! Get to The Lazy Tulip, eat lots, buy gift certificates & help support them during these unprecedented times. I don’t want to loose this gem. See you soon Lazy Tulp!

I love this cafe. The owner, Michelle, and her team are all so welcoming and kind. The food is always amazing and being a gluten free vegetarian, the menu is very accommodating (although I have heard her homemade focaccia is to die for!).
During this difficult time of COVID, Michelle has gone above and beyond to maintain safety for both staff and visitors.
If you are looking for a great place for breakfast or lunch, check out LT. I promise you will not be disappointed!

Not a family friendly place!!
This place might be popular for its food but the server and service in the cafe is the worst I have ever seen. I am from Toronto and was visiting Barrie with my husband and one year old on a Saturday morning. We thought to explore this popular cafe since my daughter was starving. We reached the place as soon as it opened and we were the first customers. The server Michelle who is also the owner of the place did not even greet us and was talking rudely about not having a reservation with them. We didn’t feel good but didn’t want to leave without buying anything. So we still thought to get a coffee to which she replied- If you are buying just a coffee then you will have to leave the table. We said ok we can leave after finishing. Minutes later she noticed my 1 year old daughter holding the table number tag that was lying on our table in the patio. She came running from inside and snatched the tag from her. She hurt my daughter and made her cry and just went inside. We thought to leave the place immediately. I went inside and told her that she can’t behave like this with a baby to which she said that my daughter can’t touch anything in the restaurant.
I have never had such bad experience ever in my life. We are an Indian family and we could understand that the woman was being racist and did not want to welcome us to her cafe. She hurt my daughter physically and emotionally.
I wanted to explore Barrie to move there from Toronto but after this experience I would never return to this place and this cafe.

We needed an accessible restaurant with food that can easily be eaten when you can't see (wraps, paninis, etc.) Lazy Tulip was excellent. There is a ramp to the door and parking close by. The food selection was great and the service really good. The wrap and panini were tasty and the salad really fresh and interesting. The prices were good. The only issue was that the hard surfaces in the area make it a little noisy. We will be back for sure.

Great lunch spot with plenty of seating options. There were six of us and everyone was really happy with what they ordered. The cinnamon raisin French toast was amazing, and the Mediterranean sandwich was really delicious too. We also had soup, falafel wrap, Buddha bowl and the frittata - all really good.

I met my sister who lives in Milton and my cousin who lives in Aurora and myself from Huntsville at this beautiful cozy restaurant run by such lovely ladies. Food was excellent, atomphere was delightful. We loved it. Will definintely come again.

Visited today for an early lunch & was very impressed by the food & our knowledgeable and jolly server.
The mushroom and dill soup was delicious.
Will visit again when back in this part of the world.

i went twice to this Lazy Tulip and never would return as they put a stick in my carafe and that turned me off completely. I was not impressed with this place at all.
