I did a web search looking for a small Birthday Cake for two to celebrate a milestone Birthday for my Mom and Sugar City Cupcakes popped up and had great reviews. Ordering was easy and contactless delivery within Barrie was executed flawlessly. Mom absolutely loved her cake thank you Kerry & Team for making this a memorable day for my Mom.

What a hidden treasure

Found this place through Tripadvisor and was very happy that I did. I had several different flavours and they were all delicious. They were even good three days later when I ate the final one. Try it, you won't be sorry.

First tried these when they were doing a promo with KoolFM and 1/2 a dozen were brought into our work. Have been back numerous times and always impressed! Great flavours & selection :)

EXTREME DISSAPOINTMENT!

I recently ordered 24 cupcakes for a baby shower, and had sent a picture of the design that i wanted. I went out of my way to order from them and had to arrange someone to pick them up for me as well. When I received them, I was in shock at what i received. There was minimal frosting on them, barely covering the cupcakes and no height whatsoever. I'm no baker and could have done a much better job, or just bought better looking ones from the grocery store. Complete waste of $70. They were barely touched as there was no appeal to them at all. I called to have the issue resolved somehow and apparently because it was a custom design, they don't apply as much icing??? They told me I could bring them back (it was an hour to closing and I was in Toronto), or offered me a $10 gift certificate...thanks but no thanks, I will never be returning here!

Disappointing

I was really excited to try a cupcake from Sugar City. I ordered a chocolate cupcake with chocolate icing and thought it would be great. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The cupcake was very stale and tasted bitter. The icing was overly sweet. I'm not a good baker and even I probably could've made something better than this. I'm very sad about my cupcake.

Birthday Themed cupcake

I sent multiple pictures and communicated with the owner and the staff and it was STILL wrong! I wanted the whole companies name, including "paper company," I also wanted the black stick figures from the other image, NOT the words "The Office." Very overpriced ($85) and horribly done. Will not be a returning customer.

The cupcakes are delicious and taste fresh. Have had several times but recommend ordering ahead if you want specific ones or large quantity. I especially like the chocolate mint (with chocolate chips in the batter and not just on top) and the winter Winnipeg ones. They have certain flavours on certain days (check the website) so make sure you pick the day you like the flavours best. Will try a cake sometime.

My birthday this year fell on a lovely snowstorm so my first choice for a cake fell through. Stopped at Sugar City on the way into town to grab something to have for dessert. Lots of choice and very yummy flavours

Found this location by chance, don't expect to find parking at this location as the other retailers in the mall take a majority. The cup cakes were a spur of the moment thing, we were surprised at the price, they were very tasty. Service is not so great, would not go back.

Ordered a last minute cup cake design for my sister-in-laws wedding shower. I was happy to hear that they could do it for me so quickly (2 days). Went the day before the shower to pick up and the girl working could not find anything for me or my order form. Was very apologetic and told me she would get ahold of the owner and figure it out. Owner phoned me at home apologizing saying she would do it in the morning and have it ready before the shower. And for the inconvenience would throw in some extra cupcakes. Great! However, my husband went and picked it up for me and paid. So when he brought it home I noted: 1. It was not decorated in the white and silver that I had asked for - it was blue and yellow. 2. I was originally quoted for 13 cupcakes. Then I was told I would get more for my "inconvenience". Surprise there was only 12 cupcakes and I was still charged for 13! My husband did not know this and they never gave him an order form or any receipt besides the debit receipt. This biggest piss off....leaving messages stating my issues and never having someone call me back! How do people run a business that way? I would have been satisfied with at least an acknowledgement and maybe an apology but I got nothing. I do not and will not recommend a business that treats its customers that way no matter how good the product is. There are many other delicious cake stores in Barrie to shop at!

Pleasantly Surprised

First time visitor to Sugar City Cupcakes on Veterans Drive. Easy to find and ample parking available. Pleasantly surprised by the selection still available on a Monday late afternoon for me to choose from given the previous reviews. Cupcakes were delicious....moist, flavourful and just the right amount of frosting on top. Server was pleasant and informative as to cupcake flavour rotation. Box provided for my cupcake purchases. Two thumbs up from this sweet tooth.

Amazing cupcakes, even better custom cakes!

I live in British Columbia and was visiting family in Barrie for a 50th Anniversary party! I searched to have a replica of the couples first car made! Sugar City Cupcakes was delightful to deal with and said YES WE CAN DO THIS! A Chevy Mailbu convertible became stunning reality. The owner Kerry, not only created the masterpiece from an old picture via email....this cake was the MAJOR hit of the party in look, style and taste! Even outshone our surprise of flying in to surprise the couple! We got cupcakes for the troops to enjoy while decorating and they too were amazing! Best prices in Canada! I wholehearted recommend Sugar City Cupcakes to everyone!

Great cakes

Sugar City Cupcakes are now a family tradition. My children ask for their birthday cakes a month in advance. Some of the creations Kerry had come up with have been AMAZING. Sometimes I give her a picture. But as of late I give her a idea and look forward to what she will create. She makes the BEST "old school" cupcakes also. There cakes and cupcakes are very sweet so they are appreciated in small quantities so a small cake goes really far My family have learnt how to eat the cupcakes easier. We put the bottom on the top and the icing is then squished into the middle and we make cup cake sandwiches Great job ladies.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!

We were treated HORRIBLY at Sugar City Cupcakes!! We went in to order a wedding cake, & housewarming cupcakes. We were disgusted with the terrible customer service. We were screamed at for parking our truck infront of the store & were not allowed to enter the store until we move it across the parking lot!!! WOULD NOT EVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!

"Mistaken identity" Hello, It seems you have mistaken us with another local Bakery, as we have ample parking at both locations in front of the building...Not only that but we have talked to all the staff, and not one of them has encountered any problems with customer parking... I'm so sorry you had this experience, but this was a case of Mistaken Identity for sure as we never treat our customers in such a manor.
